3. The Second Meeting
Jungkook
Sighing, he leant back into his chair as he wound back his stiff arm. His back was aching after spending hours at his desk typing away new plans and strategies for the branched product which he planned on presenting to his boss. He sighed again, as he worked the muscles in his neck. Then he felt a pair of hands grab onto his shoulders. "Oi-"
"Hello Koooook." Taehyung's deep voice rung out behind him, and Jungkook groaned.
"Can you get off of me?"
"I'm just massaging my hard working friend, no harm there right?" The older coyly replied. Jungkook eventually stopped resisting, and allowed the older to dig his thumbs beneath his deltoids and push the muscles around. "So...Kook-ah..."
"What is it."
"How'd the first session go?"
"Tae, listen-"
"It went badly?!"
Tae leaped away, and Jungkook scowled. "I never said that, I'm just annoyed at how obsessed you are with her."
"So it went well then?"
He sighed. Tae was impossible, he swore. "I mean I guess?" He spun his chair around. "It was like any other interview I suppose...Tae, did you tell her about me beforehand?"
"No? Why?"
"It's just...never mind."
Turning away, he grabbed the mouse before clicking and printing the plans. Tae grabbed his shoulders and mercilessly shook them, "What happened? Tell me."
They both walked through the office and to the printer. "It was weird Tae, she only asked a few questions but somehow she had my whole back story laid out."
"See I told you she was good!"
Sweeping his hand under the tray assembly, he picked up his sheets and stapled them together. "Maybe. But she hasn't paired me with anyone yet, so I'm not giving her any credit until she does that right."
"Fine...when's the next session?"
"Tonight, since we're both free."
"She should have some people picked out for you by now."
"That soon?"
"It is her job."

"How are you today?"
Jungkook settled down into the beige armchair, tapping his fingers against the armrest as he stared back at the short-red haired matchmaker.
"I'm good, I guess. Tae said you'd have some people picked out?"
She nodded, pulling out a few sheets of paper and tapping the bottoms on her desk. "I have one person in mind, but I brought other potential candidates just in case you changed your mind."
"Right..."
"So I'll ask a few more questions before I tell you my verdict."
"Are you sure you didn't do any research on me before our first session?" Jungkook interrupted.
"Yes, I promise."
"..."
"So Jungkook, you said the other had to be smaller than you? How small is too small?"
"Um..." He hadn't really thought about it before. He supposed it didn't really matter, but to make things more difficult for her he figured he'd make it specific. "I'd prefer it if she wasn't too small, but still smaller than me."
"So?"
"So...maybe only a couple of inches smaller."
She laid down one of the papers beside her. "What about clothing style?"
"Uh..." He really hadn't thought about these kinds of things, since he always just took what was waiting for him. "Someone who can pull both sides off, so they can be sexy and cute. But not too much of either, because that's kinda, just...too much."
"Okay..." She pulled out two more sheets, and laid them down ontop of the other. Were they candidates which didn't match him? "I'm guessing you would prefer someone who lives here in Seoul?"
"Yeah. Too much hassle to travel anywhere else."
"What about personality?"
"Didn't you already ask me that last time?"
"Yes but, last time was more of a chance to get to know you so I could pair you with someone else knowing what kind of person you are. Plus you didn't go so much into detail about it."
"Maybe...someone nice."
"Nice?"
"I-I mean, I know I come off as someone who fucks and goes, but I wouldn't engage with someone who is as much of an ass as I am, you know? That just, wouldn't work."
"No no, I understand." She then halved her pile and set them aside. Wow. Did she really see him as that much of an asshole? It wouldn't surprise him.
"I mean, no offense, but I don't have much hope in this but if I'm going to meet a stranger for the first time then I'd rather she be presentable in both ways."
"You keep saying she...now I say this with all clients but is it absolutely important that your match is female?"
"Yes."
"With certainty?"
"I'm laid back, and I've only ever had one night stands with women. But I wouldn't pass up a fine looking guy, as long as we can still do the deed," he said jokingly.
"Jungkook, this isn't Tinder. I meant for dating purposes."
"Sure whatever, have at it, do your thing and match me up or something, they...I prefer to date women, sweetheart," he said with a smirk. Jiwoo only raised her eyebrow, before setting aside another two sheets. Maybe pissing around during something like this wasn't the best idea.
"Right."
"Is that it?" he said, pointing at the remaining paper in her hands.
"Almost. Since this is the last candidate, I need to ask one more question."
He sighed. "Go ahead."
"What's the first thing you notice in someone?"
"The first thing? You mean, for 'dating purposes'?"
She nodded.
Jungkook looked out the window to his left, and stared into the now dark blue sky. "Probably...their smile."
"Right. Okay, I think we have a match."
He laughed, rolling his eyes and getting ready to stand. "I'll know when I meet her."
Jiwoo shook his hand as they both stood, that same coy smile playing on her lips once more. "Jungkook, this is my profession. And when I say it's a match, I think you should be worried."
Jungkook laughed nervously. "Right..."
"I'll email you the details to your date, so be ready for then."
Walking out the small building, Jungkook made his way to his car which was parked around the corner. So he was really doing this. He was really going on a blind date.
Then...if he was going through with this then he might as well go all out.
He'd better go pick out an outfit.
