11. No Doubt

Jungkook

"...ey."

"...hey."

"...kook?"

"Hey!"

"Jungkook?!"

Blinking, he sat back in his seat as a slender hand snapped its fingers in front of his eyes. Withdrawing back to its sleek owner, Jungkook watched as the woman before him stared back with disbelief, and when he realised where he was, and who he was sat with he couldn't help but allow a yawn to escape his lips. "Um, yeah sorry...were you saying something?"

His date, with her curled brown tresses and beautiful glowing skin, rolled her eyes as she leant against her pretty palm. "I was calling your name for a while now Jungkook."

"Really...?" he replied, in somewhat disbelief himself. Where had his mind taken him? Somewhere so far away, he hadn't even heard the loud voice speaking out to him only half a meter away.

"Yes!" She exasperated, before folding her arms against her pristine black dress.

"Ahaha, again I'm sorry about that. I was just thinking about...work...?" Jungkook winced. That lie could've gone better.

"Oh I see!" she grinned, before moving closer to him. She had really bought that. Was she stupid or something? Or that desperate for a one night stand? "I forgot, you're a manager at that big cosmetics company, right?"

"Yes, you could say my position is important...um..." he trailed off, as she stood up to sit beside him. He'd forgotten her name already.
The smell of her perfume immediately clouded his surroundings the closer she came, and despite her enticing show of pale, attentuated legs which she crossed over the other, the contact made between their shoulders, and the sexy lull of her eyes...Jungkook still felt so...

Bored.

Uncomfortable. Uninterested.

Unsatisfied.

As she stared up at him, Jungkook found his gaze moving past her head and out the window. He'd been on how many dates now...six? Seven? What number did she make? Why was he even here, doing this 'matchmaking' business when he had never been interested in the first place?
To fill his boredom? As a distraction?

To prove a point?

"Hey," she whispered, her grip on his bicept growing, "if your mind is elsewhere...we could get out of here if you'd like...?"

"Hm?" Jungkook blankly mumbled.

His date purred sweetly, and he watched as she traced the folds in his jacket with a carefully-manicured finger. "I can see that the dating scene isn't for you...you're into more discreet things, right?"

Jungkook frowned. "You're kidding, right?"

"No, I'm not," she winked, and the younger found his body stiffening when he felt a hand creep up his thigh. "I know this is what you want..."

"Yah."

"So what do you say...?"

Scoffing, he grabbed her arm harshly and yanked it upward from under the table. "If I wanted a fuck, I'd join one of those grotesque dating sites which I'm sure you're already signed up to," he sighed.

His date glazed over him in shock at his sudden outburst. "H-hey! That was rude jerkface-!"

"I'm not wrong, am I?" Jungkook replied, crossing his arms as he exhaled. "Clearly you're in the wrong place. I'm not interested in having sex with some desperate woman who I've met on a whim."

"Excuse me?!" She almost yelled, as she stood to grab her purse, a few other customers in the restaurant turning at the uproar. "You're the one who's been so out of it since we met! I could only assume that that was what you wanted!"

"Sorry, but not for one second have I found you even remotely attractive," he spoke, rather loudly, taking into account the pairs of eyes surrounding them both.

"I-I...I can't believe this! Jiwoo told me you were a lost cause, but I didn't realise it was this bad!"

"She...what?" Jungkook frowned. She knew how many times he'd dated through the matchmaker?

"If you've dated this many women," she began, as she turned to take her leave, "then why are you still here?"

In the next moment, she swiftly paced out the restaurant, and he was left with their half-sipped drinks and the bill. That could've gone better. The murmurs around him started to settle once again, so Jungkook called over the waiter to ask for the check.
As he stepped out the restaurant, he breathed in the cold air before tugging out a cigarette box and a lighter. As annoying as his date had been, she had been right toward the end. He had dated a lot of women since he first met Jiwoo, and yet almost everything felt missing. Why was he still doing this? It was honestly at this point just a waste of time, and money, so...why was he still here?
Puffing out a cloud of smoke, he felt his mind start to relax as he took a seat on the edge of the pavement.

It was because of him.

That cute, small, little mochi. That man...had Jungkook wrapped around his finger since the beginning. Even now, he could still remember the sensations from the moment he had set his eyes on the pink-haired product designer.
Park Jimin...
He made the younger go crazy at times. Raking his hands across his forehead, Jungkook huffed in the remains of the cigarette before throwing it to the ground and pressing down on it with the sole of his shoe. Then, he pulled out another one and lit it.

Seriously...he hadn't smoked so much since university. What was that man doing to him? To cause him so much...confusion?

"What the fuck..." he mumbled, as he went to stand. He was even seeing Jimin everywhere he went. From across the street he glanced over a small figure wearing a striped shirt and leather pants, with pink hair sporting a gorgeous crescent-eyed smile stood outside a bar and holding the door open. Hold on...

That was him? Park Jimin.

Should he go over? Maybe make it come across as a mere coincidence...well, it was, but that wasn't the point. Would it seem weird for his boss to go over and say hi? He couldn't believe his luck...and he felt surprisingly joyful.

Nodding to himself, Jungkook stepped down onto his cigarette and stuck his hands into his pockets before moving to cross the road. This was harmless. Talking to a coworker outside of work was normal.
So why did he feel so nervous?

"....hahahaha!"

He could hear the older laughing quite loudly, and before Jungkook could open his mouth to shout out to Jimin, another person stepped out of the bar, and wrapped his arm around Jimin's shoulder.

...what?

"Shut up!" he heard Jimin casually giggle, as Jungkook remained stood motionless from across the street.

"What! You like it don't you?" the stranger replied, his voice filled with desire which had been directed at the pink-haired man. He was relatively tall, though not as tall as Jungkook, and had a pretty handsome, soft face. Who was that guy? His...date?
"You wanna get out of here?" Jimin's date asked, as they both walked down the street and around the corner.

The last thing Jungkook saw was the flush of the olders cheeks, and the foreign hands that coiled themselves so carelessly around the mochi.

Right.

Jungkook sighed, scratched his neck, then turned on his heels toward his car. No doubt, Jimin was in for a long one night stand. Or maybe it'd develop into something more.
It was something as inevitable as Jungkook expected, considering how their own date has gone. And considering how he treated Jimin himself. So no doubt, this was bound to happen. His feelings still needed sorting out, no doubt.

No doubt...

However, he still didn't expect to feel so...

Pissed off.
