A/n: Hey guys! Firstly, I want to thank all my readers who patiently waited for me to update and secondly  I'm sorry (again) for not updating in March as I promised to. I really have no excuse for not updating this time except that this author is really very lazy ^^'. Oh well, I won't keep u from reading the chappie any longer! So now I present to u the latest chapter of this book! Enjoy!

The conference was now over and we find everyone leaving the hall except for Ash, Lance, Alex and Hannah who had to discuss a few things.

While leaving the conference hall, our Sinnoh Champion spotted a Garchomp landing behind the building. Seeing it made her remember that one day and the man of her dreams.

Flashback to when Cynthia first started on her journey -

We find a ten year old Cynthia running from a wild Garchomp since she accidentally stepped on it's tail while it was sleeping.

While she was running she saw a farm and someone working out in the field. She immediately jumped over the fence and ran past the person and when she looked back, she saw the Garchomp rushing towards her only to stop when the person stood in front of it.

Cynthia was about to yell at the man to run, but was shocked when he just stood there calmly and as it was about to attack, he lifted his hands and scratched the back of his fin. The Garchomp stopped it's attack and leaned into the man's touch. He then produced a pokéball amd lightly touched the Garchomp, capturing it. He put the Pokéball back into his pocket and continued like nothing had ever happened, while all this time Cynthia was standing there, not believing what she saw and walked up to him.

"Thanks a lot for saving me mister," she said as he just continued his work.

"You'll have to forgive my son, child. He rarely speaks and tends to spend most of his time working or training the Pokémon," a man informed. Cynthia just kept staring at the worker that she had to admit was cute. He had a tan that all farmers seem to have and was waring a red t-shirt, black jeans, a cowboy hat, and a pair of black boots.

"Child?" The man asked again seeing her spacing out.

"Hmm? Oh, it's fine. I just wanted to thank him for saving my life. I'm Cynthia by the way." Cynthia said and shaked his hand.

"You can call me Marcus. A pleasure to meet you," he smiled and turned towards his son.
"Son you better get going if you want to catch your plane," he said as his son stopped and headed for the house.

"Where's he going?" Cynthia asked.

"Well my son just turned fourteen yesterday and he wants to go to another region to start his journey." Marcus said as Cynthia stood there in shock the guy was just four years older than her and she thought that he was way older plus the guy hasn't even gone on a journey and he managed to calm down a fully evolve dragon Pokémon!

She then saw the guy walking towards them except he now has a trench coat and took off his hat showing that he had midnight black hair and red piercing eyes that would send anyone running but it just made her heart flutter.

"Um you mind if I go to the airport with..." Cynthia was interrupted when Marcus slapped his head.

"Oh I forgot to introduce you two! Cynthia, his name is Shadow C. Ketchum and Shadow this is Cynthia, and of course you can come with!" Marcus said and Shadow just nodded his head in greeting.

All three then headed towards the airport.

At the Airport ~

"Well I guess this is goodbye, by the way what does the C in your name stand for?" Cynthia asked but was stunned when shadow did something that shock her down to her core. He grabbed her and pulled her into a gentle hug before he whispered softly in her ear,

"It means Carnage, and this isn't goodbye I'll see you soon." He smirked at her before boarding his plane, as Cynthia just stood there for a minute with a blush on her face.

Flashback end -

Ever since then she has been writing to him telling him about all her achievements and he's been doing the same, he even sent her a video of him becoming the champion.

When she watched the video she was amazed at what she saw. Her love took on all 4 of the elite four and the champion all at once and he took them down using only the Garchomp that he caught when she first met him, and one other pokemon.

The last time he talked to her was when he called her in the Pokémon center. He told her that he was dealing with Pokémon that were called Ultra Beasts that were trying to destroy the world.

She asked if she could help but he told her that the planes to his region was down and he didn't want to see her hurt, which she blushed at but she was worried that she wouldn't see him again so he sent over a ring with a grey jewel in the middle, and he told her that he'll come for that and that was over ten years ago.

She knew this was a long shot but she followed the dragon type and what she found made her turn as white as a ghost.

The garchomp lay down an unconscious Shadow, her long lost love, against the tree. He had scars on his arms and one on his eye, and a few minor injuries. When she got close the Garchomp stood in front of her but after making sure that she wouldn't hurt his friend he let her pass. When Cynthia was in front of him, she noticed that he had a locket with her picture in it in his hand, which made her blush different shades of red.

"It's nice to see that after all this time he still thinks of me." Cynthia thought as she leans in to kiss him, but before she could his eyes snap open as he pulls her in a headlock.

"Who are you?" Shadow snarls. Cynthia looked hurt at his words before she realized that it's been years since they saw each other and that she changed a lot. He then looked at her hand and saw a ring, the same one that he gave to his love. He then looked at her in the eye before he brushed the hair that was covering one of her eyes.

"Cynthia?" Shadow asked as she nodded with tears in her eyes.  Shadow haslty releases her and pulls her into a kiss which made her kiss back, after a minute they pulled away for air and he pulled her into a hug.

"I've been looking for you the longest time." Shadow said as Cynthia nuzzles into his chest.

"What happened? I tried to get ahold of you for years!" Cynthia asked, but before he could answer, Ash, Alex and Lance decided to walk in at that moment.

"Shadow?!" Both Ash and Alex exclaimed at the same time.

"Greetings to you both." Shadow said calmly.

"You both know him?" Lance asked.

"Yeah we do, he's our cousin," Alex answered.

"Didn't you say that you won't be able to come here shadow?" Ash asked.

"Yeah I did say that but then I came across an information that I had to tell you and that was a very good reason to come meet Cynthia as well," Shadow said making Cynthia blush.

"Why didn't you guys ever tell that he was your cousin?" Lance asked.

"Probably because they didn't want to tell you about the only one that they can never beat at anything." Shadow said as Ash and Alex mock glared at their cousin who looked around before turning to Cynthia.

"Would you please go with my Garchomp? I'll meet you there soon," he said.

"But why? I want to stay here with you," she

"No, it is something very important as well as a bit personal. I'll tell you later so please will you go?" Shadow asked softly.

" Alright, but please take care of yourselves," she said as she mounts his Garchomp and flies off.

"So what is it that you wanted to tell Shadow?" Alex asked.

"The crime lords are planning to disrupt the tournament. They would definitely make their move in the later rounds since it would have even more people and they could cause more destruction."

"And since Ash was the one who stopped them in the first place, he is their main target," he informed.

"I predicted that much," Ash sighed.

" Yeah..." Lance agreed and Alex nodded his head.

"I will be alert. Thanks for letting us know Shadow," Ash thanked him.

"It's my job to warn you Ash. Now I must take my leave. I'll see you on the day of the tournament," Shadow said as he turned around and walked off.

"See you too Shadow," Ash said and Shadow just waved his hand indicating he heard what he said.
"I'll be taking my leave as well. I've got some work unattended," Lance said.

"Alright we understand," Alex said and they both gave each other a bro hug.

Lance then went over to Hannah and gave her a hug as well.

"Take care Lance," she smiled.
"I will, you do too," he replied and with that he released his Dragonite and flew off.

Soon after, they heard a car arriving and turned towards it. The shining black car came at a stop in front of the three and out came a man in his late forties, dressed in a butler's attire.

"Greetings Master Ketchum," he said and gave a slight bow.

"Greetings to you as well Alfred. Good to see you in such a good shape," Ash replied.

"It's good to see you too, Master Ketchum. Mr. Phillip told me to pick you up. Is your business here completed?" He asked.

"Yeah it is, just give me a few moments Alfred," Ash said and Alfred bowed and stepped back.

"So guys, would you like to accompany me as well?" He asked.

"No thank you Ash, we would but we have some things to take care of so we will be meeting up with you at the day of the opening ceremony," Hannah smiled sweetly.

"Yeah..." said Alex while sweating bullets for some reason.

"That's alright with me. See you guys then!" He said as he gave both of them a warm and gentle hug, to which they hugged back and then he got into the car and drove off.
