Chapter Seven
Training

"HANGE!" I heard a loud voice erupt from the door and a banging.

What the hell! Who the hell is knocking at this hour!

I get up with such a burden, I turn and see Hange snoring but shuffling around.

She was definitely missing sleep.

"Shut up!" I yell and I wake Hange up.

"What! Erwin! THE WALLS!" She jolted up with such fright and then looked at me blankly before putting on her glasses.

"Someone's at the door for you." I dove back into the bed.

"Ah fuck, I'll be there!" Hange puts on a shirt and shorts before stomping towards her door and opening up a creak.

I heard a few lower voices and I assumed I was dozing off to sleep but if Hange is awake then I should probably get up, my body was sore. It felt like I was fighting titans all day!

I felt a bit more flexible though, I could do this all day if I got used to it. If I was more flexible I bet I could kill more titans.

Hange closes the door and sighs before getting ready.

"Who was it?" I asked as I got up and started to get ready.

"Levi, he just loves to ruin my sleep. It's always him that wakes me up earlier to starting training and getting warmed up before a mission." Hange huffs.

"Wait, but doesn't it take like less than an hour to do that?" I questioned.

"He likes to be perfect, I like to be perfect in my own way but he insists that I should train with everyone else for 3 hours." She replied putting on her shoes.

"You have to train that much to be the best?" I gasped. "I thought that was just in boot camp!"

"You can't just train really hard for a couple of years and then drastically stop. You'll never get better that way, that's why Levi is the way he is." Hange explained.

Levi. That was probably the same bastard who knocked last night, I don't care much about the conversation but I know I was annoyed.

"Can I come with?" I asked. "I need to get better."

"You have to, Erwin ordered everyone's squad to do it." Hange winked.

"What? Why didn't you think of telling me this?" My eyes widened as I panicked to get ready in time.

"I like surprising my squad, no one else knows but hey I love to give them an adventure like a pop quiz! Imagine the look on their faces!" Hange giggled. "Anyways, let's go wake them up!"

Sometimes I question how I'm this close with Hange since she pulls things like this, you just can never tell with her it's a surprise each time.

When we make it to the training grounds I see other squads pull up and I see Mikasa so I wave to her and she smiled and waved back.

"Levi's squad with Hange's squad." Erwin started calling out squads to train against.

I guess this was a way to improve yourself and check what you lacked in, I hope I don't lack in much since I've been here for 4 years with some struggles.

I catch a glimpse at this Levi guy, holy shit. Wait a damn minute.

Did I just seriously brush off Captain Levi? Oh shit, oh fuck. If he ever found out it was me to talk to him like at Hange's door I don't think I'd hear the end of it. Fuck!

Stay cool, just be cool Athena!

I'm not remotely scared to him because I've never seen him in action but as Hange says he's pretty well respected and pretty good at killing titans. At the end of the day I still need to respect him because of the ranks, I'm going to be dead as toast if he ever finds out who I am. I was blessed to have mask on thankfully, I'm actually so smart come to think of it.

"Love being your friend but I have to play the leader for a bit, don't hate me for pairing you up with random people." Hange smiled at me before running up next to Levi who held a glare at her not paying much attention to anything else but her.

He was pretty to look at, really pretty.

But he annoys me.

Damn a fucking pretty face but shitty attitude, what a shame.

"Eren! You could go up with Athena first! Since you claim to be able to defeat titans so easily then you should go up against one of my best." Hange smirked.

I was standing in front of Eren with a smirk, poor little kid. I knew Eren since he was a baby and he definitely had the temper, it was just a matter of time that he finally joins the corps with his friends and my brother.

Armin looked at me and I lock eyes with him for a split second, he shot me a small smile and a thumbs up and my heart softens.

"Go!" Hange announces randomly.

Shit.

Eren took this chance to lunge at me while I was a bit distracted but I swiftly dodged past him and quickly turn around at him on the floor.

"Eren, you gotta be quicker and smarter than that. Remember when you couldn't even catch me when we would play tag years ago?" I teased and he shook his head and I saw him turn his focus completely on me.

He was finally locking his eyes on the target, nice.

"I respect you Athena but there's no way you're coming out of this with a win." He smirked.

This will be fun.

"Damn it!" Eren groaned as he rolled on the ground wincing. "Why can't Armin hit as good as you?"

"Hey!" Armin yelled from the audience.

I chuckled as I turned to Hange who had the proudest smile on her face.

I did in fact beat Eren, did it take less than a minute? Yes. Yes it did.

But who's counting?

I get it though, Levi's squad was brand new from what I heard. Armin told me everything about them just graduating boot camp and finally entering the corps, with the little time we now spend I was glad to be caught up in his world. I miss talking to my little brother.

It's quite funny seeing Armin and his close friend Natalia always be together the same way Eren and Mikasa stick together. I hope they stay together through it all because being alone really does suck, I have Hange but until when?

Other people got to go against each other and soon there was multiple people from our squads going at it in the same time. I was taking a rest looking at Armin struggle with Mikasa.

There was only 4 people not including me and Hange, in our squad.

Cassie, Eric, Mina, and Stiles.

"Hey," I heard a low voice call on me as everyone else fought.

Even Hange was going against Jean!

I looked up and see Levi staring at me with an unimpressed look.

Shit.
