Chapter Four
We meet again.

I was somehow able to get off the dance floor after the whole fiasco and I stood by the wall in shock, what the hell was that?

The song after was a more fast paced song and it contained more harsh instruments, it was a nice song but the words in it didn't help.

My heart was pounding but everything about it excited it more and more, I heard Hange talking about how it feels like. How it feels to be in love, but this can't be I know it's something else.

What the hell was I talking about! Hell no! What am I even thinking? What, I just dance with one rude guy and that's all it takes for me to feel something? I'm probably just getting sick. I mean I've never shared a dance with a guy, I've never had a guy grab me by the waist like that so is it valid? I mean I can't just think stuff like that but I have never felt the way he just made me feel. And I'm not sure what that feeling means but it feels good and I crave that feeling again. 

"Athena? Thank god," Hange rushed to my side with a smile. "I went to go find Mikasa and somehow you disappeared." 

"Wow, how funny." I chuckled. 

"Are you okay?" Hange asked with a frown. "You look like you've seen something scary." 

"I'm fine. I just need to get a cup of fresh water." I smiled before excusing myself and walk away. 

I walked towards another pair of doors and I pushed them open to a small hallway with a few tables. There was a lot of cups filled with water but I noticed a group of men turn the corner with laughs filling the hallway. I stopped at the middle of the long hallway for a water cup but I was interrupted by the group of men. 

"Oh hey, you look pretty nice tonight." One of the guys spoke up as he giggled with his buddies.

"Thank you," I nodded before drinking from my cup again. 

"I'd have it my way with her." Another guy spoke up with a scoff. 

"Excuse me?" I furrowed my eyebrows as I turned to them and they stopped walking. 

"Oh, did miss princess get offended? You girls pay so much for a stupid dress that you'll only wear once in a blue moon but complain you don't have enough to eat." The cadet continued. 

These men were cadets! They're supposed to take care of the castle and make sure nothing bad happens what the hell are they doing in these halls goofing around? 

"I made this dress by hand you idiot." I spat. "And just because no girls are interested in you and would never give you the time of day, doesn't mean you get to throw tantrums like a child while you're supposed to be ON DUTY." 

The cadets walk towards me with furrowed eyebrows and a glare shooting at me, oh no.

"Who the hell do you think you're talking to?" One of them raising their voice and takes ahold of my wrists.

I stand there frozen in shock, how can a cadet speak to a scout like this? Fucking cowards.

"Leave me alone, who the hell do YOU think you are?" I try to break away from his hold.

"A cadet, we're going to protect you civilians in the future so you better watch out or else it's going to be hell." He smirked.

"I'm not just a civilian too and when your times comes I'll make sure to make your life a living hell too!" I argued and break away from him.

I was starting to get angry and I hated getting angry I didn't want to stress out about this. I wanted to forget about this interaction so I barged past them in hopes they leave me alone.

"Where the hell do you think you're going? Get back here!" They called out and began to walk towards me and grab my arms.

I was stuck, they turned me to look at them and I was actually freaking out since there was much more of them and only one of me.

"Knock it out, you guys don't have better things to do than have a tantrum because a lady wants to fight back?" A voice erupted from behind me and I see a hand pull from behind me to whack the hands of the cadets holding me.

They quickly let me go and divert their attention to the man behind me, I was too stunned to turn around but I stared at the floor hoping it would be over.

"You want to take this outside? We're not afraid of you." One of the cadets spoke up.

"You should be." The voice behind me spat and I felt a small movement as I look up to look at the cadets who held a terrified look on their face.

What were they afraid of?

They quickly saluted and turned the other way walking quickly down the hall, what the hell?

I turn around and see the guy I was dancing with earlier. His mask stood out from everyone else's since his was the only black one. Why would anyone wear such a plain color?

"Thank you, I apologize for causing a disturbance once again." I sighed and begin to walk away.

"Wait," I heard him scowl and let out a long sigh. "I'm not sure if they'll come after you when you're alone so if you want to..."

"Dance?" I interrupted with a gleam in my eyes as I turn to him who looked down at the floor.

"Erm.. Yes... It's my job to make sure everyone is safe tonight so if you have anymore troubles let me know." He still held an ice cold face with no emotion but I started seeing a small blush hit his cheeks.

Who was this guy? I think he's either a cadet or a scout because who else would be guarding the civilians?

I noticed he wore a ring around his pinky, it was a nice silver ring that fit him. I felt drawn to his way of being even if he wasn't the nicest to dance with at first.

Shit, we're going to dance again.
