Chapter 3

After their walk through the garden, the siblings parted ways and Leila went back to her room. On the way there they noticed that people were already there, installing the lift for Leila. She had gotten to her room and asked for her personal maid, Silia, to get her some paper and pen.

"Sir Izekiel, who do you think could have possibly been involved in my kidnapping?" Leila had asked her personal knight.

"I believe that it is to be Marquees Viril, who use to court you but was caught in bed with another woman."

"Wow, thanks for being so gentle with your wording, Sir Izekiel." Leila said in a sarcastic voice. "Though, that was all true. I can't believe that I was so blind. All of his actions are coming back to me now and I hate how I didn't notice it when it first started."

"Your Highness, in all honesty, everyone is blind due to love, especially when it's your first time."

"Have you ever been in love, Sir Izekiel?"

"Pardon, Your Highness?"

"Ugh, you can stop it with the formalities. It's just us here."

"Your Highness must drop it first. And I have been in love, however, she had cheated on me with a scumbag who drank and gambled all day. In the end, she gave birth to his child and ran away because the father died due to not paying his gamble debts. It had happened while I was still in training, but when I came back we had a huge fight.

She kept saying that she was innocent yet there were tons of witnesses and there was also proof. The owner of the inn and bar is close to magicians of the tower, so they installed some of the recording stones in the hallway for safety."

"What did the stones show?"

"She was caught walking with him into the room, her arm linked around his. When she got out of the room her hair was disheveled and she was only wearing a shirt, his at that. Her clothes were in her arms and before she left, she stared at the door and smiled.

When I saw that, my heart had dropped and I let her go. She kept blaming me, saying that it was my fault, since I was gone for months, training to be a knight. In the end, her father dragged her out of my place and publicly disowned her.

At first, I was heartbroken and could barely keep up with my training. Weekends I would drown myself in alcohol and lay alone in my bedroom instead of spending time with my friends and family. Finally, one of my knight buddies knocked me straight in the head and straightened me up. I realized that my honor of being a knight was more important than her, who couldn't even help my mother with the chores around the house she was staying in."

"She got what she deserved." Leila pouted. "How could she do that to you?"

"Haha, Miss Leila here seems to be more mad than me?"

"Well of course I am. You're my personal knight, and someone dared to cheat on you? Even if you weren't my person knight I still would have gotten mad. Anyone who cheats or has an affair is unable to have a say on anything."

Later on, Silia came back with Leila's paper and pen and she started to write down the things she could remember. The smell, feel, anything that she could possibly remember.

"Ah, that's right, who was the one who saved me?" Leila asked Silia and Izekiel.

"It was sir Helios." Izekiel answered.

"Silia, please send a letter requesting for an audience with Sir Helios. Let him know that I would love to meet with him as soon as possible."

"Yes, Miss Leila." And with that, Silia left to get the letter delivered.

Leila sat back in her chair, thinking and pondering on what to do next.

"Sir Izekiel, tell me every gossip you hear about all of the nobles. I'm sure that even knights gossip about them, right?"

"Miss Leila, that will take a very long time."

Leila got up from her desk and walked her way to her small kitchen. Leila had grown up learning how to cook and bake, and soon on how to brew tea. Her mother, Lucia, believed that if you were incompetent of doing normal and basic chores, then you're incompetent to be someone noble let alone of royal blood.

Leila grew to love the kitchen, making food and baking and making them look too attractive to eat. She soon came to realize that tea-brewing was a way for her to relax her brain.

She brewed the tea and set up her set on a tray. Once it was done, she put the teapot in the middle of the tray.

"Ah, let me get that for you-" Izekiel was interrupted mid-sentence as he was getting up to carry the tray.

"No, Izekiel, it's fine." She carried the tray and set it down on the glossy marble coffee table. Izekiel was across from her, and soon later Silia came back and joined them. Together, they discussed and talked about all of the confirmed rumors of each noble.

The cog in the back of Leila's mind started turning, ideas running through her head. Friend or foe, she'll reveal who is who clearly and make sure to pay each foe back 10, no, 100 times fold back. She will no longer become someone who is easy to mess around with.
