SEASON 1

Serena Galvez was an orphan brought up by her foster mother, Aling Esang. Nagtatrabaho siya bilang kasambahay sa mayamang angkan ng mga Howells. Then she meets Jonathan Montevista. She also has her best friend-Lola Howell, who belonged to a rich clan, with her mother Helena Howell, and older brother Leith Howell. The patriarch of the family, Ramon Montevista was long dead before the kids could meet him. They aren't missing much though. Malayo ang loob ni Helena sa dalawa niyang anak pero magaan ang loob niya kay Serena. May pagkamanyak si Leith at minsan, nabibiktima si Serena but she knows how to handle it well at pinagtatanggol din naman siya nina Lola at Helena.

Serena, being new to the romantic feelings Jonathan showed her, immediately gave all of her to him, and this bore fruit. Itatakwil sana siya ni Esang, pero sa tulong ni Helena, they were able to reach out to the elusive Jonathan Montevista, who happens to be the son of one of her business partners- Miranda Montevista. Of course, pinanindigan naman ni Jonathan si Serena.

One night, sa isang surprise party, Jonathan proposes to Serena. Of course, everyone was happy except for Lola. Serena overhears that Jonathan's parents are not in favor of her to be a part of their family.

"Jonathan naman, sana pumili ka naman ng mas nababagay na babae. Yung kayang makipagsapalaran sa mundo natin. Hind yung kung sino sino lang. "

This causes her to deliver a sentimental message at their engagement party.

"Alam kong wala naman akong maipagmamalaki. Ni hindi ko nga alam kung saan ako nanggaling, o kung sino ang mga magulang ko o kung Serena Galvez ba talaga ang pangalan ko...But you, Jonathan, binigyan mo ako ng pangalan...ng halaga...ng dahilan para mabuhay...Wala akong yaman o pangalan, impluwensya o kapangyarihan...Ang tanging mapapangako ko lang sa iyo, ay mamahalin kita ng tunay at totoo. Kahit kailan, hindi kita iiwan. Lahat kakayanin ko para sa'yo...Kahit makipagsapalaran sa'yong mundo. I love you.."

Few days later, she could sense the bitterness in Lola na parang ayaw nitong ikakasal na siya. She even tried to talk her to back out sa wedding. But she was firm na gusto niyang ikasal kay Jonathan.

There was even a time na nahuli ni Serena si Lola na nakikipaghalikan kay Jonathan, kaya sila nagkaalitan. At dahil rin dun, muntikan na ring di matuloy ang kasal. Sinubukan pa ring suyuin ni Jonathan si Serena. Noong una'y aayaw pa siya pero dahil sa masugid na panunuyo ni Jonathan, dahil malambot rin ang kanyang puso, at dahil ayaw niya ring lumaki ang anak niya ng walang ama katulad niya. Kaya natuloy pa rin ang kasal.

At their honeymoon, doon natagpuang patay si Jonathan at an isolated corner. Agad na humingi ng tulong si Serena but Jonathan was declared dead on arrival. Enraged, nagsimulang mag-imbestiga kung sino ang pumatay sa asawa niya, kasama ang kapatid ng asawa niyang si Clarke Montevista. May naretrieve na CCTV footage on that area which showed that si Lola ang huli nitong kasama at may hawak hawak itong baril na itinutok niya kay Jonathan. Pagkatapos matumba ni Jonathan, tumakbo na si Lola. Dahil dito, sinugod niya si Lola who tearfully showed na guilty nga siya. Galit na galit si Serena but Lola only told Serena, "Kung alam mo lang.." Pero hindi mapakiusapan ni Lola ang kaibigan at talagang isusuplong niya ito sa police pero naabutan ito ni Leith at hinampas para mawalan ng malay. Nakuha ni Leith ang naretrieve na baril mula sa crime site at dahil mayaman siya, nasuhulan niya ang officer. Walang nagawa si Lola nung nilagay ni Leith ang fingerprints ni Serena sa baril para i-frame-up ito. Kahit tumutol si Lola, napilit at nabrainwash pa rin ni Leith ang kapatid.

Tinago muna ni Leith si Serena at ilang torture rin ang nadaanan niya hanggang sa nakatakas siya pero sa kanyang pagbabalik, galit ng Pamilya Montevista ang haharapin niya at makukulong siya. Maraming ebidensya ang naituro sa kanya. The fact na nag-away sila, buntis siya at baka pinikot niya lang si Jonathan, and yung pamana na posibleng yun lang ang habol niya kaya binalikan at pinatay para makuha ang mana, at siya yung nakita kasama si Jonathan that night. Walang naniwala sa kanya dahil pinabura na ni Leith lahat ng ebidensya laban kay Lola. 

Nakilala ni Serena si Lia sa kulungan, isa ring preso na naging kaibigan niya. Minsan binibisita siya ni Clarke but never Miranda to check up on the child. Clarke somewhat believes na wala itong kasalanan. Sa pagkakakilala niya kay Serena, mabait ito. Sa totoo lang, naaawa si Clarke dito at sinabi niyang susubukan niyang kausapin ang nanay niya ngunit wala pa rin itong naitulong. Kahit naaawa siya kay Serena, kalahati ng isip niya, ayaw ring palayain si Serena dahil sa tindi ng ebidensya laban rito. At kalahati rin ng isip niya, naniniwalang inosente si Serena. 

Maybe part of the influence kung bakit kalahati ng puso niya is siding with Serena is because of the fact that he's been in love with her ever since. They were able to establish good rapport when Serena resided sa kanilang lugar before the whole cheating with Lola. Clarke slowly fell for her then but he knew his boundaries and decided to not go for his brother's girl, so he went abroad for a job opportunity to get his mind off Serena. Mahal niya ang kasintahan ng kapatid niya at dahil dun, mas pinili niya na lang lumayo at nagparaya dahil ayaw niyang mag-agawan sila dahil lang sa isang babae. Gayunpaman, matigas si Miranda at idiniin niyang makukulong si Serena.

Samantala, sinubukan siyang tulungan ni Aling Esang to the point na lumapit siya kay Helena who knew nothing of the circumstances. At first, nakiramay siya kay Serena and tried to help her. Dahil nasasabotahe ang mga plano nina Lola at Leith, they had to inform Helena kaya nagalit ito sa kalat na ginawa ng mga anak niya. She had to withdraw all help she gave Serena to protect her family and reputation, causing Serena's sentence to be passed as a lifetime prison while Aling Esang comes at Howell's house and she overhears something that cost her life. Mas lalong umigting ang galit ni Serena to the point na nakapalabas siya ng statement laban kina Lola sa tulong ni Lia na nakalaya na sa kulungan.

Meanwhile, pilit na pinaglalapit nina Helena at Miranda ang kanilang mga anak na sina Lola at Clarke hanggang sa nagkarelasyon na nga sila.

Isa-isa siyang binisita ng 3, giving her different kind of tortures. 

Si Helena, sinampal si Serena, forgetting the bond they had. 

"You are no daughter of mine. You never were, never will be. I'm sorry dear, but family comes first. And you're not mine."

Si Lola, ang sakit ng kaibigang tinalikuran at pinagtaksilan siya, na walang tulong na maibigay kahit man lang makita niya sa huling pagkakataon si Aling Esang. 

"You and I? We're not friends. I can never be friends. You're the reason I could never be... I'm glad I don't have to look you in the eye anymore. Good bye, 'bestfriend'."

At si Leith who gave her false hope, the promise na tutulungan siya kapalit ng katangahang ipapagawa niya pero sa huli, niloko lang siya nito. 

In the end, Serena was lucky na na-grant ang appeal niya to attend her mother's funeral, thanks to the secret help of Clarke, who was anonymously tipped by Lola. While Clarke is not entirely made up if Serena is innocent or guilty, he was her friend and he loved her. He knew her to be good hearted. And as someone who loves his mother deeply, he would not be the one to deprive another child from seeing their mother. Even Lola is not as heartless. Serena was her bestfriend. She will always love her. 

Malapit na rin siyang manganak noon and that was the only time na binisita siya nina Clarke at Miranda to discuss custody. Nagmatigas si Serena. Alam niyang sisiraan lang siya ng mga Montevista sa anak niya. At ni hindi nga nila inasikaso yung pagbubuntis niya, kahit man lang pagbigyan siya hanggang maipanganak niya lang yung anak niya and be protected mula sa mga sigang bully sa kulungan. Wala nga silang pake nun na hindi pa naisisilang ang bata, ngayon pa kaya?

Nanganak siya at pinangalanan niya itong Brielle tulad ng napag-isipan nila noon ni Jonathan. Nagkaroon ng malaking sunog sa kulungan kaya namatay siya pati ang kanyang anak.

Si Lia lamang ang nag-asikaso ng kanyang libing dahil siya na lang ang natitirang nagmamalasakit kay Serena. Dumalaw rin ang mga Montevista at Howell sa kanyang lamay pero pinagtabuyan lamang sila ni Lia dahil wala silang karapatang makiramay sa taong inapi at inapakan nila.

"Anong ginagawa niyo rito? Pakikiramay? Eh sira rin pala kayo ano?? Ang kakapal ng mga mukha niyo! Kayo ang dahilan kung bakit naging impyerno ang buhay nitong si Serena! Kayo yung nagpakulong, nagpahirap, at kayo yung pumatay sa kanya! Ni hindi niyo nga inasikaso yung pagkamatay ng nanay niya, o yung pagbubuntis niya, o yung mismong pagkamatay nila ng anak niya, tapos magpapakita kayo rito? May gana pa kayong makiramay?! Mga walang hiya kayo! Mga hayop! Umalis kayo rito! Kabastusan kay Serena ang presensya niyo rito. Umalis na kayo! Hindi kayo kinakailangan rito! Mga mamamatay tao! ALIS!"

7 years later...

4 years na sina Lola at Clarke. Noong una, nahihirapan pa kasi sila sa pagkamatay nina Jonathan at Serena. Eventually, dahil sa sulsol nina Miranda at Helena, naging sila rin. But they were never really IN LOVE. 

A partnership grew between the Howell's and the Montevista's

Leith is still a playboy but even worse.

All of a sudden, a newcomer in town begins to make noise. The Howell's try to decipher her identity but they fail to do so. The newcomer is then introduced as Dulce Veleno in a party she hosted.

The first phase of her reign is how the Howell's and Montevista's show animosity towards her due to the probability that she is Serena yet several tests and schemes have proven them wrong. 

Helena and Miranda try to diss her but she is able to rebut them regally and in a dignified manner na bumabalik rin sa kanila ang mga sinasabi nila. 

"I did send you invitations." - Dulce Veleno.

"Oh really? And yet we received no word."- Miranda Montevista.

"I mailed it to Pueblo Carcel, a prison town. Is that not where you live? A place where you're never free from all your crimes."- Dulce Veleno

"That's ridiculous. That place doesn't even exist."- Helena Howell

"Yun na nga yung point Mrs. Howell. It doesn't exist but you let yourselves get caught up in it. Let go, or soon you'll find yourselves trapped in that reality." - Dulce Veleno. 

"Is that a threat?" - Helena Howell

"I wouldn't dare threaten MY guests in a party I hosted, no. It is a promise. Enjoy your meal while it lasts." - Dulce Veleno.

"Excuse me?" - Miranda Montevista.

"It's best served when hot. Eat it before it cools off. Ciao." - Dulce Veleno.

Clarke and Lola, being the ones na malapit ang loob kay Serena, know her very well and try to make her admit that she is Serena.

Lola knows na may birthmark si Serena sa likod and she forcefully rips Dulce's clothes open (yep, temptation of wife feels), pero wala siyang nakita. Dulce rebukes her and she gets humiliated. Ihinarap niya rin ang mga pictures at puntod ni Aling Esang, but she maintained a stern reaction. She was emotionless kaya di rin nila masasabing si Dulce ay si Serena. Lola went to the extent of triggering Dulce with below the belt remarks. They were rivals for some time.

"You know what Dulce, you can call yourself whatever you want and dress up but you can never hide that you're still the same trash."- Lola Howell

"In that case, you should clean your hands. If I'm that trash you think I am, you might have gotten your hands dirty. But you can't blemish what's already been red." -Dulce Veleno

And Lola realized them being enemies is not what she wanted, and tried to make amends. Though she was never really sure what she wanted. 

"I'm sorry I think we got off on the wrong foot."- Lola Howell

"No. YOU got off on the wrong foot, not knowing where all this animosity is coming from."-Dulce

"Serena...she was my best friend, and she was like family to us Howells. Yet she betrayed me. She betrayed our family. She ruined our reputation and accused us of crimes we did not commit. Perhaps, it was fitting na namatayan siya ng asawa, ina-inahan, anak... at maging siya ay namatay na rin. It's true what they say. Karma is a bitch. And also--" -Lola 

"Save it, Lola. I don't have time for a biography lesson. That girl, Serena, she's sheep. A lion does not concern himself with the business of the sheep. But unlike you, I am no lion. I am a dragon, and I will burn every lion to the ground who slaughters my sheep. Do you understand?"
-Dulce 

But Dulce was not one whom you can easily please or win back. Hindi siya katulad ni Serena na mapapaamo mo with just one 'sorry'. But Lola never stopped. She kept stalking Dulce and she even begged.

"Please Serena. Tama na ang pagpapanggap. I know it's you. Kahit di mo sabihin. Nararamdaman ng puso ko na ikaw yung best friend ko." -Lola

"I'm surprised you have a heart... Tell me, what good is it to bring her back? You hate her anyway, right?"-Dulce

"I will not stop trying until I prove that you are Serena. 'Di ako susuko." -Lola

"Try harder, Lola. Either way, you'll end up with a restraining order. You will die trying." -Dulce

Her stalking Dulce has caused a rift between her and Clarke. He doesn't like how she's being a control freak. Pinalayo niya muna si Lola from Dulce and siya na ang humingi ng dispensa kay Dulce. Dulce starts seducing him. Umabot si Lola and nag-away sila as she accuses her of flirting with Clarke. Dulce immediately dismisses her accusations and humiliated Lola.

This time Helena and Leith try to take matters to their hands. Helena and Leith set to meet with Dulce and they try to get to know her better, dig up biodata and DNA samples. Yet Helena sees the results are negative, and according to Leith's private investigator, Dulce had records at everything she said at their meet up.

Dahil sa information na mga ito, nawala lahat ng pagdududa nila at nagkainteres sila na makipagnegosyo with Dulce, who was preferring to tie up with someone else. They'd be meeting at a cruise event, where Clarke and Leith also happen to be in. Dulce finds out that Clarke and Lola are having problems sa relasyon nila and she comforts him. Leith is flirting with Dulce and she knows how to seduce him but at the same time, diss him and break his bones. 

While at a conversation with her potential business partner, Mr. Morte Veloce, a shoot out occurs. Nagkagulo dahil may pinadala sina Leith to terminate Morte so they can tie up with Dulce. So a lot of action happens here, fight scenes which showcase how much of a badass Dulce is. At the end, sumabog ang cruise but nakaligtas si Leith. 

Meanwhile, Dulce and Clarke get stranded on an island. Clarke gets wounded after the encounter at the cruise and Dulce gives him the 1st aid. They get closer and open up to each other. Clarke really sees a great deal of Serena in Dulce and also tries to make her confess that she is Serena, to the point of admitting his feelings. Dulce insists that she is not Serena.

"I should've known...It's you. I can tell it, it's you, Serena. It's always been you. And I should've said this a long time ago. I should've told you I love you, I always had. And now that I have second chance, I'm not wasting it." - Clarke Montevista.

"Oh... Clarke... I'm sorry that you went through a tragic love tale. I really do empathize. You and I are no strangers to heartbreak. But I am not Serena. I'm sorry you gambled with the wrong person." - Dulce Veleno

"Please, Serena, stop hiding. Come with me..." - Clarke Montevista.

"Anong ginawa mo? What did you do when she was alive Clarke? Tinulungan mo man lang ba siya? O wala kang nagawa?" -Dulce Veleno

"Tama ka. Wala akong nagawa. I tried to help you...and I'm sorry...I failed you. Nabigo kita at nabigo ko rin si Jonathan. I should've done more. I should've loved you harder." - Clarke Montevista

"You didn't fail me..."-Dulce Veleno
