Iris dangles an envelope in front of Lavi and that was the first thing he saw after he opened his eyes. Sitting up straight in the couch, he yawned with tears in his eyes.

"What did you wake me up for?" He says, looking at Iris. She just disturbed his wonderful sleep.

"I need to report our mission, since I'm the only one conscious right now and I'm already healed. Just in case Allen and Lenalee wakes up, kindly give this." The female redhead shows the envelope so close to Lavi's face. "It's from Miranda."

"Okay." Lavi yawned once more, accepting the envelope.

"I'll be going now." And Iris leaves to report the mission to Komui. It was serious talk because a Noah is involved in it.

It lasted for quite a while, taking hours. When she was done with the report, Lavi had told her that Allen woke up a while ago and he gave the envelope. Hearing this, Iris tortured Lavi because he didn't follow as instructed. She said to give it when Allen and Lenalee are awake.

Since Allen went back to sleeping, Iris also went to sleep. The next day, the two Exorcists are still sleeping and this made Iris go bored. Saying that she'll just be watching the city for possible Akuma attacks, the female redhead indeed went to the city and joined their festival.

The whole day, she was dressed up in a she-devil costume. No one really knows why she likes dressing up as a she-devil, maybe Iris accepts that her personality is somewhat devilish. She had joined parades and enjoyed herself, getting along with other people. When it was already sunset, and she decided to go back to the hospital, calling it a day. Changing back into her Exorcist uniform, she took the longest route to the hospital since she wants to take a good look at the wonderful town.

Hearing an explosion, the Exorcist went to the source and finds Lavi with Allen. From the smoke, it seems there was an Akuma. And from the scene itself, Lavi was the one who killed it.

"Allen! Lavi!" Iris called out and dashed towards them.

"Iris?" Allen was surprised to see her.

"Okay, continue the reunion later. We have some Akuma on the loose." Lavi smiles and made his hammer grew to a large size.

With his huge hammer, he squashed the Akuma and damaged the building it was standing on. Iris facepalmed, seeing that Lavi is still reckless as always.

"Geez, these Akuma don't know how to conduct themselves in public." Lavi said.

"Like you?" Iris countered.

"Anyway, let's get out of here. It's dangerous fighting in the middle of town. Grab on."

He lets us grab his hammer and he made it extend up to the air. Allen was screaming while Lavi was just having fun. Meanwhile, Iris remembers the first time she rode on his hammer. It was not a good memory.

They landed on a forest which was void of any other people, it's a perfect place for fighting.

"You alright, beansprout?" Lavi asks the silverette.

"It's Allen."

"You call him beansprout?" Iris looks at Lavi with a confused expression. Only Kanda calls him that.

"I met Yu along the way, and he calls Allen beansprout."

"If Kanda heard you, he'll definitely slice you in half right now. Don't call him by his first name."

"Huh? You two know each other?" Allen asks, looking at the both of them as they talk.

"Of course, he's with the European branch and I joined a little earlier than him two years ago." Iris explains.

"Anyway, what's the matter with you?" Lavi leans closer to Allen.

"Eh?"

"You're going to die young if you don't get your weapon out when the Akuma show their faces. You can't use that of yours that can detect Akuma right now. Then you should just assume that everyone you come in contact with is an Akuma." Lavi lectured, but it wasn't harsh. But when it comes to Iris, his words are anything but kind.

"I just can't do that! Not every one can be an Akuma!" Allen defends humanity.

That's right, he can't see Akuma souls anymore with his left eye being injured.

"Now that you can't use your Akuma-seeing eye, you'll never be able to tell who's Akuma or not." Lavi pointed out. "It shouldn't be a surprise that anyone's an Akuma."

"That's how we fight, after all."

The truth hurts, Allen. I think he should be less dependent on his left eye...

"Then, how do you do it, Lavi?" Allen asks.

"I assume that everyone around me is an Akuma, and prepare myself accordingly." Lavi replied.

"Psh, as if. Once you see pretty women, you won't even suspect that they're Akuma." Iris had a smile of triumph.

"Shut up, Red." Veins popped out on Lavi's head.

"How do you do it, Iris? How do you fight Akuma that you can't see?" Allen looks at Iris.

"Don't ask someone as stupid as her. She'll talk to anyone and everyone without assuming they're Akuma." Lavi smirked.

"Did you just call me stupid?" Iris glared.

"Then I'll just follow her example." Allen said.

"You can't. Because unlike Iris, she can very well handle herself in last minute encounters because that's how her mind works. She's got reflexes and power, and then she has a brain that works and reacts faster than anyone."

"I'll take that as a compliment." Iris grinned.

"But you're still an idiot."

Lavi goes back to the topic. "We Exorcists are at a huge disadvantage unlike you and your left eye. We can never tell who's human and who's not."

"But... But... I can't just kill everyone in my path."

Allen's words was a trigger to Iris and she walked towards a tree not too far away, trying to calm herself. She was already sweaty in seconds and her breathing was abnormal.

"Iris?!" Allen goes over, worried for his friend. He does not have a single clue on what's happening.

"I'm sorry, my arms suddenly hurt." Iris lied.

"But you're clutching your chest."

"It's probably the medicine gramps made her drink. Healing her arms was no joke and the medicine he gave her has some side effects." Lavi also lied.

"I almost forgot, how's you arms?" Allen asks.

"I'm doing fine..." Iris sighed in relief that she managed to calm down almost immediately.

"Anyways, Allen." The silverette turns to Lavi. "Because of our disadvantage, we wear this coat so the Akuma will come after us."

His words made Allen remember a scene from the past.

Marshall Cross, Iris, and Allen arrived at another new country. The sun was shining radiantly, and the breeze smells like the sea.

As they walk down a road, women immediately has fallen for the adult.

"Oh, there he is!"

"Isn't he gorgeous?"

"He stands out, wherever he is."

Every one of them were in dreamy voices with dreamy expressions and dreamy eyes. Annoyed by it, Iris clings to Cross' arms and looks at the women with an evil smile.

'He already has a child, now scram!' Iris glared at them.

She wanted to yell her thoughts so badly but didn't because Cross was right there beside her. What made Iris smile was her somewhat matching uniform with Marshall Cross. He was wearing a black and gold uniform while Iris wears black and silver. Allen on the otherhand was wearing simple casual clothes.

"Master, isn't that coat a little obvious?" Allen says his opinion.

The Marshall turns his head towards Allen without halting. "My idiot pupil, our thoughts are completely different, dumbass."

"Eh?"

"You'll get in time!" Iris stops clinging to her father and walked beside Allen with a smile.

When night fell, a lot of level 1 Akumas showed themselves.

"See? This us all because you wear that coat all the time." Allen pointed out.

"This is as it should be." Cross smirked. "Iris, you handle three-fourths (3/4) of them." 

"Okay!"

When the battle ended with the Exorcists's victory, Allen was safe and sound.

"There's no use hiding from something you can't see. This coat is a lure. It allows me to suspect everyone who comes in contact with me."

"Yeah, suspect every women that comes in contact with you and just kill them." Iris says as she crosses her arms.

Cross pretended like he didn't hear his daughter's sentence and continued to talk to Allen with a few sweat trickling down his face. He can't give up being a womanizer.

"To protect those we seek to save, we must remain suspicious of them all. Can you bear to do so?"

"You won't have to worry about that though, Allen."

A bunch of people arrived at the forest, and half were policemen.

"Over there!"

"Those kids in black!"

The Exorcists turned around to see a crowd of people.

"He you, stop right there." Said a policeman as he approaches them.

"You're under arrest!"

"Wait! We're-" Allen was cutted off.

"Stop resisting or I'll shoot!"

Suddenly, a bunch of Akumas showed themselves and started shooting. Lavi defended himself with his huge hammer, Allen with his huge metal arm, and with Iris spinning her sword to deflect the bullets.

Lavi and Iris were already killing Akumas while Allen was still on the defensive.

"Allen! Move!" Iris yelled.

"I'm sorry!"

With that, Allen helps out with his Innocence turning to a canon and he fires at the Akumas. In the end, they managed to wipe out all the Akumas.

"Okay, that's it!" Lavi rejoiced.

Just right after he said that, a woman yelled for help. She was taken hostage by an Akuma. But because Allen had a long-rage weapon, he easily defeated the monster and the woman was saved.

"Thank you so much!" The woman cried in joy as she runs towards Allen, giving him a hug.

"Are you alright?" Allen asks. But just then, a canon pointed at his face. The woman was actually an Akuma.

The monster smiled in victory, but Allen remained still. "Too late." And with that, he shot the Akuma in front of him.

Iris frowned at the scene.

He was ready to shoot her then and there, and he didn't hesitate to do so. He assumed everything. What a scary growth.

When everything was over, the pad covering Allen's left eye came off.

"You're eye's back!" Lavi says.

"How can that be?!" Iris marches towards Allen and kept on stretching his left eyelid.

"I-Iris! It hurts!"

"Ah, it's snowing!" Lavi says in joy and everyone looked at the sky.

Lavi was chasing Timcanpy like a child while the snow falls.

"You're such a kid." Iris deadpanned at Lavi.

'I have decided to continue along this path. I have to strengthen my resolve, to match the responsibility that comes with this coat.' Allen thought as he puts his left arm over his chest, as if making a pledge.

While Iris looks at how childish Lavi is, the male redhead slipped forward while chasing Timcanpy. Of course, Iris didn't let this go and she laughed at his stupidity.
