Chapter: 3

"Brooke Adams" she called. The brunette cautiously made her way to the podium. Professor placed the hat on her head. "Hmmm Brooke oh Brooke. You are cunning, intimidating, strong willed, but yet, very vulnerable. You need a man who will build your confidence, someone who will make you even stronger than you are." The hat said, making the girl nervous. "Julian Baker!" The hat yelled. Brooke let out a sigh of relief. At least she knew Julian. He was a returning 8th year, Hufflepuff. Although I'm a Slytherin and he is a hufflepuff, I am just glad we are both in the same year. Brooke thought to herself. She hinted a slight smile towards her future husband, as she walked over, and sat next to the hufflepuff. Unlike most Slytherins, Brooke was not malicious and cruel to people. She was just strong and fiercely independent, cunning, destined for greatness.  "Next we have... Katie Bell." As the also returning 8th year sat on the stool, the hat said, "I already know who you should be with...Theodore Knott!" The hat yelled. Down by the table, you could see Theo face-palming himself and murmuring 'why a gryffindor? Just why?'  "Katherine Blazinski." "Adam Lance!" "Lavender Brown" the girl sat down smiling uncontrollably at Ron. "Hmm let's see... oh I know!...... Chase Marsh!" Chase was a 7th year hufflepuff. A few more students were paired. "Shelly Davis." The shy ravenclaw stepped up to the podium. " James Murray."  Both Ravenclaws looked at each other. How could that be? They were friends, study buddies, not husband and wife.   "Next, we have Hermione Granger." The professsor announce. As Hermione stood up, she could feel everyone's eyes staring at her. It made her uncomfortable. Please God. Anyone but a slytherin. Pleeeaasse God. She thought to herself. The hat started speaking, "well well, what have we here. Hermione Granger. You have certainly changed. I see how the war hurt you. You experience much pain, sorrow, and loss... you need someone of equal intelligence, someone who will lift you up in every way, someone who understands your pain, someone who has experienced the same type of pain and loss. Well Ms.Granger, you are in luck, because I have the perfect man for you......." the hat said. Hermione sat nervously, waiting to hear who she would have to marry. ".............Draco Malfoy!" The hat yelled. Both Co-Head's faces paled. All of the students started to whisper, pointing to the two former enemies, now to be wed. Soon, the whispers dialed down, and eventually, everyone was dead silent, staring at the two children, still in disbelief in the hat's conclusion. Gently putting her hand on the girl's shoulder, McGonnagal gave Hermione a little push. "Go on, you will be fine. Don't worry. Just go sit down next to Mr Malfoy." The sympathetic teacher whispered. Gulping, hands shaking, Hermione made her way to the table Draco was sitting at.  The two made eye contact for only a few seconds, and each could sense the other's fear and anxiousness. As soon as Hermione sat down, McGonnagal continued. "Sarah Hyland." "Nick Fitzgerald."  But Hermione wasn't listening. It seemed as though the world had stopped spinning and her heart stopped beating. Then it got to her. She was going to have to marry Malfoy, her child enemy up until a few hours ago. The boy who teased and bullied her for almost 8 years. The boy who made her life miserable, she was going to have to marry. "Quinn Jameston." "I know the perfect man for you my dear. You will have no trouble loving him...Clay Evans!" No one really knew Quinn that well. She was a few years ahead of the returning 8th years. During earlier years, Quinn decided to continue her education at a muggle school, even though her youngest sister, Haley stayed at Hogwarts. After graduating from muggle high school, Quinn decided she would like to finish her final year at Hogwarts alongside her sister. Clay, ironically being in the same position, seemed to be thankful to be paired with someone his own age. "Haley Jameston." "Oooh. This is interesting. You, are of the same intelligence as Ms. Granger. But, I know who you are perfect for....Nathan Scott!" Haley's face, much like Hermione's paled. Nathan Scott was her best friend, Lucas' half-brother. Although, they certainly did not act like brothers. They did not grow up together because their father abandoned Lucas before he was born, and taught a Nathan to bully and be cruel to the other Scott boy. I am not marrying this moron. I am tied for top of my class, and this quidditch, and basketball playing idiot is just going to bring me down. Haley thought. "Luna Lovegood." "Oh.. I have the perfect man to keep you sane. Maybe even help you act normal.......Harry Potter!" The yell yelled once again. Ginny bursts into tears. Harry squeezed her hand. "Just remember what I told you." He whispered to his now, former girlfriend. As Luna took a seat next to the chosen boy, she spoke, "I am truly sorry Harry, Ginny. I had no idea that would happen. The nargles told me that I would be with Neville. I am so sorry you had to break up, I truly am." She said. "Thanks Luna, but it's not your fault. I promise. I guess Harry and I just weren't meant to be anything more than good friends." Ginny said to her friend, trying to smile, and wipe her tears away at the same time. "Natalia Morton" "yup my dear, you need a silly, and immature man to make you laugh, but someone who is determined, and in his own way, extremely intelligent.. I know.........Neville Longbottom!" The hat yelled once more. This time, it was the strange, blond girl's turn to cry. "Oh my gosh! It's officially over. I will always love you Neville." Luna said, looking at her former boyfriend from across the table. Neville blew a kiss to Luna and whispered, "me too" quickly turning around to shake hands with Natalia, a 7th year Gryffindor. "Sabrina Moore" "Chuck Williams." Both, returning 7th years. "Pansy Parkinson." "My dear. You still are the annoying girl you were eight years ago. But nevertheless, I know someone suitable for you......Ron Weasley!" The hat exclaimed. "What?! There is no way in hell that I am marrying a Weasley! They are blood traitors! A Weasley! Are you kidding me?! Stupid hat!" Pansy stormed back to her table, not bothering to look at the completely stunned, red faced boy. "Parkinson? Is the hat serious? I am suitable for Pansy Parkinson?" Ron whispered to himself. "Hang in there mate. I feel so bad for you." Harry said, patting his friend's back.  "Peyton Walsh." "Ah. Peyton Peyton Peyton. You are confused. You stil, haven't gotten over your mother's death, and that was eight years ago. You seem to think you are misunderstood, a loner, perhaps. Well, I've got your Prince Charming right here....Lucas Scott!" The hat yelled again. Both Lucas and Peyton were returning 8th years.  A lot more 7th years were paired. "Only two more left. Ginny Weasley." Professor said. "Ms. Weasley, youngest of the Weasleys. You are much like your classmates. Cunning, fierce, strong, smart. I know just the guy for you......Blaise Zabini!" The Italian boy looked at his best mate, Draco, to Granger, then finally the she-Weasel, what him and Draco-well, mostly Draco called the Weasleys. I can cope with this, I hope. He said to himself. "Finally, Reneé Zealman." "Cody Sailmand!" "Now, I bet you all are tired, so why don't you and your partner open your cards to see which train/ trolley you will be taking to get to your houses. You should unpack, get to know your partner.Thank you everyone. See you tomorrow morning at breakfast." Professor. McGonnagal said. Students reluctantly started to file out of the hall, making their way to their  mini 'trains'/ carriages.
