I tensed, opening the door to my pack house and smelt cheap perfume. Not one of my pack members wore this and that meant that The Bitch was back for a visit.
The Bitch, or as other people called her except for me Clarice Ranalde, was the former mayor's daughter. She would be in charge of the new group of Werewolves, if her father doesn't get kicked out of office this coming spring.
Clarice's family was very rich. They were not 'oh she's rich' but 'she's fucking rich to buy her own island rich'. And she doesn't even buy fancy perfume? I'm no genius in makeup and such, but I do know that she could buy three cases of Clive Christian Perfume and still have money to spare on a boat house.
Kate lifted her head, while I walked into the house. "She's in the kitchen," she said. "Faith is watching her."
I nodded my head. "Is there anything else?" I asked, looking at her.
Kate nodded her head. "Your mother is in your room. I think that it might be best if you check in on Clarice, first."
"Great, just great," I muttered to myself. I nodded my head before I walked into the dining room. I looked inside the room and saw that Faith was pinning Clarice with her glare. "That'll be all, Faith," I said, making Clarice jump. I smirked and laughed underneath a cough. "Wait by the kitchen door, please."
"Of course, Jasmine," Faith said. She nodded her head in respect before she left.
I glanced at the female in front of me, folding my arms across my chest. "Well?" A frown was on my face, because I didn't like her one bit.
Clarice smiled at me, showing her perfect row of pearly white teeth. She stood up as she walked over to me. "Ah Jasmine, Darling," she said in her rich tone. "How are you?"
I gritted my teeth together as I studied this female. Clarice had big blue eyes, that it looked like someone could fall into her spell. She had long blonde hair and was very skinny, looking like a Barbie Doll. Her hands were dainty looking, as if she hadn't done any hard work all her life, except for lifting up a cell phone or a mirror.
"What do you want, Clarice?" I asked, skipping the formalities with her.
Clarice frowned. "Hasn't your mother taught you manners?"
I smile sweetly at her. "Yes she did, Miss Ranaldi, but the bad thing is that I am more of my father than my mother. You earn the respect that you deserve. And since you don't respect people, I don't respect you."
Clarice took two steps over to me and slapped me across the cheek, hard. My head was jerked back by her force, and I grunted. "Do not ever do that again," she said, gritting her teeth together. Her eyebrows were knit together as she looked at me, anger filling her eyes.
I blinked a little clearing my vision. My cheek throbbed in pain, but I ignored it, knowing that it would go away. "Why are you here?" I asked, feeling my jaw pop a little back in place. "Come to slap me around, to teach me manners? It ain't going to work, Sweetheart."
Clarice frowned, not liking my attitude. "I came here because you haven't told us about the ceremony that is happening on your birthday," she said, trying to keep her cool. With me, I knew that she couldn't do that, and I smirked, knowing that I had gotten on her nerves. "We were wondering why not."
"There is nothing to say," I replied. "As expected, when one of the Alpha's of a different gender pack turns 19, the will mate with another Alpha whose birthday is close to his or hers. I am turning 19 and the eldest Alpha of a separate gender pack is Blake."
"This is also joining two separate packs together, is it not?" Clarice asked. A small smirk appeared on her face, making her lips turn a little thinner.
"Yes," I replied. "It will join the Alpha children of both the Speranță and Bucurie Pack."
"Next time... tell us when there is a joining of two separate packs please. I don't want to lose my temper on you, Sweetie," Clarice said, patting my cheek. It took all of my willpower, not to bite her hand and show her that I was still the boss. "Chao," she said, with one of her movie star smiles and left the room.
I sighed and sat down in a seat. I rubbed my temple and closed my eyes, annoyed with her. My cheek still throbbed in pain, and I ignored it still. I could feel it bruising, where she had slapped hard. I lifted my head, when I smelt Kate's perfume and the smell of a waterfall, which was her scent. "Yes, Kate?" I asked, looking at the door to see her standing there. I turned my face so that she couldn't see the small handprint on my cheek.
"Your mother is waiting for you up in your room," Kate replied. "I thought that you might wanted to be reminded, because of Her Majesty was here." She lifted up her pinkie finger and talked in a British accent as she said that. She rolled her eyes, annoyed.
I smiled a little, standing. "Thank you, Kate." I started to walk out of the room, dreading on why my mother was here. I knew that she would be doing something that I didn't like.
Kate mocked bowed at me as I passed her. "Your welcome, Your Highness," she said, making me shake my head and laugh a little. She grinned and followed me up the steps.
