I ran fast, my paws hitting the ground softly. I was panting, which made my breath turn white, letting me see it. My ears swiveled around, letting me catch all the sounds of the forest, and I could hear the panting of the pack behind me, while we went up a steep incline.

It was beginning to turn cold, where I live up in Maine. I lived in the mountain area, where not a lot of people lived. There was like 646 people up there and about half of them were Werewolves.

*Faith and Abby, make sure that they are there,* I said to two of my pack mates. *Stay hidden in the underbrush until you hear my call, or see me get to our spot.*

*On it, Alpha,* they said in unison as two wolves broke from the group.

The two wolves looked at each other and there was a sense of tension in the air. It was heavy from their silent glares of hatred. However, they knew that they were going to have to work together, if they didn't want me to fight them, again.

*Don't you dare do anything,* I said, showing my teeth. I lifted my head and tail higher and narrowed my eyes, showing my authority over them.

Both dropped their gaze from each other and went submissive, showing that they respected my decision. However, I knew that they didn't agree with being paired up with each other.

*Now go, and I want no marks on the other, when we see each other again. That will be in a few minutes,* I growled at them, letting them know that there might be trouble if there were any scratches.

Both nodded their heads and bounded into the forest. One was small white wolf with blue eyes and the other was bigger and tall, with black fur and brown eyes. They were both complete opposites.

*Are you sure that you want them to be alone with each other? They are very different,* my beta, Kate, said. She glanced at them before looking back at me, her gray eyes filled with amusement.

*It's the same with us,* I replied. *I am more like Faith with a cold sense of personality and have a bad-ass attitude. You, Abby, and Rosa are alike.*

Kate laughed through my mind. *Oh? And how are we alike?*

*One word,* I replied. *Preppy.*

*Preppy? I thought it would be more like... upbeat, happy, or something like that,* she said, teasingly.

I rolled my eyes but couldn't help but smile, even if the smile was just for a second. *Peppy, upbeat, and excitable mean the same thing in my book.*

Kate laughed, again through my mind and shook her head. *You of all people would say that.*

I looked behind me to make sure all the pack was together and no one was left behind. Yes, I was ignoring what my Beta, but she understood what I meant.

Fourteen other eyes stared at me, with the respect a pack would for have for their Alpha. Each of them were female eyes, since females and males were split up until one of the Alpha's turn 19.

As my gaze passed over them, they quickly dropped their gaze. They wouldn't meet my gaze, because it made the Alpha Wolf feel threatened. And since I was their Alpha, they wouldn't want me to be threatened.

One pair of blue eyes didn't back down from looking at me. Her eyes looked like Sapphires, because of how deep of a blue they were. They looked at me with a gaze of wariness and a small bit of fear. Little Lillian, or Lilly, as we called her, was the youngest member of the pack and has only been in this pack for less than a week. It was because she had turned 8 a week ago.

Rosa, who was taking care of Lilly, saw Lilly looking at me. She quickly nudged her, wanting Lilly to drop her gaze from mine. Lilly dropped her head quicker this time, than last, and I nodded my head in approval. She was learning.

*She's getting better with following you as her Alpha,* Kate remarked, glancing back at Lilly, while I turned to face forward again. *That is a good thing.*

I was about to speak, but I smelt many wolves scents in the distance. The air had shifted and it came towards us from the creek bed. The creek bed split my territory and another pack. The Alpha of that pack was to be my mate, when it turned my birthday.

*We're here,* I said, speaking to all of my pack.
