Marinette's POV

I was scared out of my mind. Tomorrow was the day it happened. I was gonna turn 16, but that meant I was gonna get a clue to who my soulmate was. I was afraid to find out who it was.

"It's gonna be okay, Marinette," Tikki assured me.

"I know, but I'm just nervous and afraid of who it is. What if it's Adrien. Wait... What if it ISN'T Adrien?" I asked, getting myself all worked up.

"No, matter who your soulmate is, you will fall in love with them. It's your destiny," Tikki said. I guessed she was right. What am I talking about? Of course she's right. She's a kwami. She's been around for over 5000 years. She is very wise about all of this stuff.

"I guess you're right. I should probably get some sleep. I don't want to be late to school on my birthday. I want to be able to show Alya and my parents about my soulmate. That is, if I can figure out who it is, depending on the mark," I explained.

"Goodnight, Marinette," Tikki said. I turned off the light and got in bed.

"Goodnight, Tikki," I replied back, but she was already asleep. I silently laughed. Then I fell asleep as well.

I woke up to Tikki's soft, high pitched voice.

"Marinette! Your mark!" she exclaimed. I opened my eyes and saw her two big, blue eyes staring back at me.

"WHAT?!" I asked, shouting at the top of my lungs. I shot up and looked for it. Then I saw it... right on my hand.

"Who is it?" Tikki asked.

I was about to answer when I heard a knock on my trapdoor. I opened it to see my parents standing there.

"So, Marinette, did you find your mark?" my mom, Sabine, asked. Yes, in fact, I have. I also know who my soulmate is.

"I... Uh... Yes," I answered as my parents entered my room.

"Where is it?" my dad, Tom, asked.

"It's... On my hand," I said nervously. Mom grabbed my right hand, the hand that had the mark on it. She looked at it with a confused look.

"Who...?" she started to ask, but I decided to answer her before she finished the question.

"Chat Noir," I said.
