A Month or so Later - Bella's POV

I tap my fingers on my lap as I sit next to Remus who is laying on a bed in the infirmary.

I read through today's lesson, making notes for Remus as he sleeps.

After a while, he wakes up and coughs, making me look up at him and he looks at me tiredly.

"Water." Remus mutters hoarsely.

I reach over to the bedside table and I pick up the cup of water and I help him drink the water.

When he finishes the glass of water, I put the glass down and I tilt my head to the side as I look back down at the notes to see I've just about finished. I finish writing down the notes, Remus sighs.

"Is something wrong Remus?" I ask him as I look up at him.

Remus shakes his head. "Thank you." He mutters.

I shrug. "No need to thank me, we're friends after all." I say to him.

Remus manages to smile. "You never once ask how I get in here, that's why I'm thanking you." Remus says to me weakly.

I smile a small smile as I smooth out the notes I took for him. "I may not know how you get in here, but like I said, we're friends, and you'll probably tell me one day, and that's fine, I can wait." I say to him in a soft tone.

Remus hums hoarsely. "Thank you." Remus says to me quietly.

I hum in a soft tone and Remus reaches his hand out to me and I look up at him confused.

"Can, you hold my hand for a bit? It's a bit cold." Remus says to me and I smile amused and I hold his hand, and it is indeed cold compared to my warm hands that my sweater has been warming.

I then start doing my homework with one hand with Remus going back to sleep, but keeping hold on my hand.

The Next Day

Remus and I start walking to class, but he bends over and starts to puke in the middle of the hallway.

"Remus, are you ok?" I whisper next to him, worried, but a lot of the students are laughing.

Remus shakes his head and I glare at the other students, though my bangs hide it.

I pull my wand out of my pocket as I stand up and I stand in front of Remus.

"What are you gonna? Your a scaredy cat." Lucius asks me.

My nose crinkles in disgust and I hex him and the other students stare at me shocked. "Go to your classes." I say to them in a quiet tone.

Some of them back off and go to class others just try to hex me back, but James and Sirius are at my sides at once and hex the others before they could hex me.

"You leave our sister alone." James sneers at them.

The other students scramble away and then we take Remus to the hospital wing so that Madam Pomfrey can help him.

"Miss. Potter, may I have a word?" Professor McGonnagal asks me.

I look at her and I nod.

I walk over to her with my hands folded in front of me. "I'm sorry Professor, I know I shouldn't have hexed those students, but they were laughing at my friends fragile state." I say as I bow my head in apology.

"That's not why I called you over here, but I do appreciate you admitting to what you've done." Professor says to me. "And as sufficient punishment for those hexes, you'll serve detention after classes are over." Professor says to me with a shaky sigh and I nod as I look back up at her. "As for why I called you over here, you left your books in the hallway." Professor says as she hands me my books.

I nod to her in thanks and I realize some of these are Remus's books as well. "Thank you Professor." I say to her and she nods.

"I think Mr. Lupin will be ok here, you three should go to your classes." Professor says to me, Sirius and James.

"Thanks Professor." James says to her and Sirius nods in agreement.

I head to my classes for the day, and at Lunch, Lily sits next to me.

"Did you really Hex Malfoy?" Lily asks me.

I nod as I bite into my sandwich. "Yes, I did." I say to her quietly.

"Why would you do that?" Lily whispers at me.

"He was being a ring leader in making fun of Remus who was puking in the middle of the hallway." I whisper back and she looks at me surprised. "I have detention after all of my classes are done for the day." I say to her.

Lily nods with a frown and we eat Lunch together.

After lunch, me and Lily head to class.

After classes are over

I walk to the transfiguration class room and James walks up next to me.

"Any idea how Remus is?" James asks me and I shake my head. "So why are you doing detention? You haven't done anything wrong." James says to me.

I look at him. "I told Professor McGonnagal that I hexed the other students to stay away from Remus." I say to him.

James nods. "I told her that I did too, to keep you out of trouble." James says to me.

We smile and James puts his arm around me with a laugh and we get to the classroom.

"Well, Potters." Professor says as she looks between us. "I really don't know who did it." Professor says to us.

"I started it Professor, I hexed Malfoy first." I say to her.

"And I hexed a few other students." James says to her.

"With my help." Sirius says walking in behind us.

"And I watched." Peter says behind him.

"And I was the cause of it." Remus says behind the both of them.

Professor stares at all of us in surprise.

"We don't think Bella should get detention for protecting Remus." James says as he crosses his arms over his chest and Sirius nods in agreement.

I almost squeak in surprise as Sirius slings his arms around mine and James' necks.

"She was only trying to help clear the crowed so Remus could breath." Sirius says to the dumbfounded Professor.

"Especially since she wouldn't hex anybody for any other cause." Remus says as he rests his arms on my head.

"And she's too nice to be in detention." Peter sticks up for me as he stands in front of me.

I smile shyly. "Guys I'll be fine, it's just detention." I say to them quietly.

"But its not just detention! You don't deserve this fate!" Sirius says to me dramatically.

"What fate? I'm just gonna clean or sort books." I say to him nervously.

"That fate!" Sirius says to me.

"Fine! twenty points from Gryffindor! Go back to your house!" Professor says at last. "All of you!" She adds.

James and Sirius cheer while as Remus nods with a smile, and Peter bolts.

I smile nervously. "But Professor, I didn't want our house to lose points, I was fine with the detention." I say to her quietly.

"You'll make them back in no time, Miss. Potter, your smart, and you do well in your classes, Mr. Potter and Mr. Black however, they'll need help." Professor says to me and I nod. "But you have to promise that you won't hex anybody without permission again." Professor says to me.

I nod and she dismisses us.

James and Sirius walk ahead of me and Remus.

Remus and I talk about what happened in classes today.

Once we get back to the house, I make notes for Remus on the important parts of his lessons and he reads over the notes once I'm done.

I sit back against the chair, pulling my legs up to my chest, and the Sirius shrieks, making me and Remus jump up.

"What?" Remus asks worried.

"Its a spider!" Sirius shrieks as he jumps on Remus' back and pointing at it.

I grab a newspaper and I roll it up as Remus gets on a chair.

"Bella! Treat the spider how you want to be treated!" Lily calls from the railing.

"Killed without hesitation." I say.

"NO!" Lily, Marlene and Mary yell.

I smash the spider and Sirius hugs me.

"Your the best!" Sirius says to me and I look at him in surprise.

"Guys!" James calls as he runs down stairs. "In the spring before school lets up, we have to check out the not-so-advised-to-go-in-forest." James says to us.

I look at him as if he were crazy.

"I'm down." Sirius says to him.

"Fine." Remus says with a sigh and then the three of them look at me and Peter.

I just put my head down. "I have no choice." I say and Peter hums in agreement.

Later in the spring

I stomp on Lucius' foot for making fun of some muggleborns, he holds his foot in pain and he scrambles away as Remus tries to look terrifying behind me.

"Thanks Arabella." A student says and the group runs.

"Come on guys!" James calls ahead of us.

Me and Remus look over and we walk to him.

"What's going on?" I ask Peter.

"We're going to the forest." Peter says to me and I nod.

Remus sighs. "Lets go." Remus says to us and James and Sirius look so excited, while as I feel dread.

I shake my head and we walk to the forest and stand in front of it.

"Alright, lets go." James says to us excited.

I hold onto Remus' hand and he holds mine and we head inside first, wands at the ready.

James and Sirius come next, and Peter walks next to me, terrified.

We hear noises and after a bit, we come across a giant spider.

Of course, James wants to have a tea party with it, and we all attempt it, with Sirius and Peter holding my hands.

"The girl." The giant spider says to us.

I look up at him, and I can see every hair and every eye, which scares me, but I hide that fact. "Yes?" I ask quietly.

"You'd be great food for my children." He says and we see spiders surround us.

I look at James and Remus and I scramble onto the table with Sirius and Peter.

Remus goes first and starts casting hexes on the spiders, and I scramble behind him, casting hexes myself.

Sirius jumps on James who follows Peter, who follows me.

We run with the spiders following us.

I put my wand away and so does Remus.

We run like madmen out of there and once we get back to the castle and in the safety of Remus' bed and under his blankets, the two of us finally calm down.

"I didn't like that." I say to him.

Remus shakes his head. "Never again." Remus says to me and I hum in agreement.

Sirius, James and Peter join us, trembling like kittens.

"I'm never going in there again." Sirius whispers shakily.

I sit up and the blanket falls off of us, and since I'm wearing a sweater, I open my arms, and Sirius and Peter hug me.

We eventually come out of the dorm room and I go hide in Marlene's arms, since she's sitting on a chair in the common room.

"Is something wrong, Bella?" Marlene asks me.

"I don't like what I saw today." I say to her and she nods and cuddles me.

Later that day

"AHH!" Sirius shrieks in the middle of the great hall.

Me and Remus jump up and we see a spider and we climb on the Gryffindor table, I climb on top of Remus quickly as James, Peter, Lily, Marlene, Mary, and Sirius join us.

"Get off the table!" Our prefect hisses to us loudly.

I just cling onto Remus more as we stare at the spider, terrified.

I look at it as it crawls towards our table.

I slowly climb off Remus, and I make a run for it, with Sirius next to me.

"HEY! YOU CAN'T LEAVE US HERE!" Lily yells.

I skid to a stop and I turn around and I grab Lily, and Marlene, and they grab Mary, and we make a run for it.

Remus follows close behind as we run back to our house, once we get inside, we pant in the common room.

"Nope, nope, nope." Marlene says hugging me to her, terrified.

A week later

James makes me, Sirius, Remus and Peter, race him to the train station in Hogsmede.

"Come on guys!" James calls to us, but I just walk calmly next to Remus with Nimbus on my shoulder, and his owl on his head.

Sirius, Peter and James race ahead of us.

"Am I ready for this?" I ask Remus.

Remus shakes his head. "Neither of us are." Remus says to me and I nod.

We sigh and once we get to the train station, we board and we go and find the other three.

Nimbus rubs his face against me, and I pet her head as we sit down in the cart.

The four of them talk and I just listen as Nimbus sits on my lap, purring.

I end up falling asleep against Remus, as Sirius sleeps on the other side of him.

A while later I get woken up and we get off the train.

I look around as I pull my bag with Nimbus on my shoulder.

"Over here." James says to me as he pulls me towards wherever he's going.

"Bye." I say to Remus who nods back and goes to his parents.

James takes me to his parents and we hear a scoff somewhere behind us.

I hide behind James and we see my parents.

"Nope." Mrs. Potter says as she brings us along, like a mother duck and her ducklings.

I see Antonio frown and I have to try to ignore it as Mr. and Mrs. Potter takes us home.
