New Neighbor

You had ended up sleeping in far later than you had meant to the next morning, waking up with a start and almost falling off your bed in an attempt to sit up. Groaning, you pull yourself from under your blankets, rubbing your eyes with a small yawn as you took in the time on the clock. It was a little after 10 in the morning, making you sigh softly. "Brunch..." You mumble, dragging yourself to your bedroom door. Stopping at your desk, you look down seeing that the map was still in the folder on your desk where you had left in the night before. You open the folder, finding the blue dot quickly and sighing in relief. Shutting the folder you pick it up eyeing it for a few seconds before shoving it in your desk drawer. "Should be safe there for now."

The smell of coffee still lingered in the living room as you made your way into the kitchen. You were pretty sure Robin worked today and Nami was off, or maybe they both were at work, you weren't quite sure. You had a tendency to get the days mixed up. You grab a cup of coffee, taking it outside to sit on the porch. Down the street a little ways, a moving truck sat in front of a house that you, Nami, and Robin had 'visited' a few nights before. You watch the movers take boxes into the house for a little while before curiosity gets the best of you and you walk over to the house, standing on the sidewalk next to the truck and looking around for the new neighbor.

"Can I help you miss?" A large man wearing a baseball cap and carrying a box greets you. He was tan and rather intimidating looking, holding the same atmosphere as Mr. Sakazuki.

"Oh. I live over there." You tell him taking a small step back and pointing to your house. "I was just curious about the new neighbor. Are you moving in?"

"Yes." He moves the box he had to one arm before offering you his hand. "Akainu, the man that lived here before was my father." He informs you.

"_______." You say, shaking his hand. "It's nice to meet you. I hope you enjoy living here."

"So do I, and since you're here..." He hands you a box before grabbing another. "Come on." He says heading inside. You blink at the box before scurrying into the house behind him. Seeing it with the lights on was a bit different, making you look around in awe at the inside of the home.

"Wow...this place is so nice..."

"He certainly had an expensive taste," He sets the box on a table before taking yours to sets it down as well. "It feels too cluttered though, so if you see something you like, let me know and I'll let you take it." He rolls his shoulders slightly. You look at him a little shocked.

"Oh uh...I couldn't do that. This stuff is so valuable..."

"Suit yourself, I have a crate to bring in, think you can help me with it?" He asks.

"Oh yeah, I can try." You nod, following him out of the house and to the truck where a large crate sat. "Is it breakable or anything?"

"No, couldn't hunt if they were fragile." He grabs one end.

"Hunt? What kind of hunting do you do? Just regular game or trophy?" You grab the other end, picking up when he did. He just shakes his head as you both carry the crate into the living room and set it down. Akainu opens the top.

"Mage hunting gear, the new ones. Seems, that there are indeed mages in this town." Your breath catches in your throat as you see a wide array of weaponry lining the inside of the box.

"Oh, I see. I didn't know that there were still mage hunters around."

"We're few, I only came here because of what the autopsy found." He shrugs, closing the crate and locking it.

"Did something bad happen to him?" You question and the stop, frowning. "Sorry, I'm prying..." He looks at you with a small frown.

"They said it was like fire invaded his insides. He died in the hall, yet..." He looks to the hall, it didn't seem new nor burnt. "So you can understand why I'm here."

"Yeah..." You nod, frowning deeply. "Well, I uh...hope you find what you're looking for while you're here."

"I'm sure I will. Be careful out there ___, the threats are everywhere." He rumbles. He was definitely Mr.Sakazuki's son, that was for sure.

"You too." You tell him, looking at the crate once more before leaving the home and walking back to your own, a million thoughts running through your head. Opening the front door, you go to the kitchen, getting another cup of coffee and sitting down at the table.

"Good morning ___, where did you go?" Nami asks coming in. So Robin did work today...

"We have a new neighbor. Mr. Sakazuki's son moved into his house." You tell her, tapping your fingers on the table. "Big, super intimidating guy...and he's a mage hunter. Said he came to town because of the autopsy results..." Nami freezes.

"Autopsy results?" She echoes confused.

"On Mr. Sakazuki. They said his insides we burned..." Nami pauses.

"He thinks... A mage would kill the old man like that?" She murmurs, looking uneasy. "Something doesn't feel right..."

"I know..." You say, your foot tapping anxiously on the floor. "I don't like this..."

"... Maybe if we know who they are, we can steer them away from the hunter, or vice versa." She offers. Blinking, you stand from your chair and grab her by the shoulders.

"Nami you're a genius." You take off out of the kitchen, running to your room and grabbing the folder from your desk drawer along with a notebook. "We can find them with this!" You say, holding up the folder to show Nami.

"Alright, let me grab my tazer and then we'll be good to go." She nods hurrying into her room. "You should probably change, your pj's are too cute to get dirty!" She calls. Looking down, you blush.

"I was walking around outside in these..." You mutter running to your room to change quickly before joining Nami back in the living room. Opening the folder, you jot down the first color that came to mind on the notepad.

Dark Blue- Sabo

"Alright, ready to go?" She asks in the doorway. "This should be interesting."

"Yeah. Let's see who we can find." You nod, the both of you leaving the house."The next color I see is...red."

"Which one? The blood red or the bright red?" She inquires peering at the map.

"How about the bright red first, then blood red." You say, starting in the direction of the dot on the map.

"Alright sounds like a good idea." She smiles as you both continue, peering around thoughtfully.

"Okay...so..." You open the folder again, looking around curiously. "Whoever it is should be around here somewhere."

"I don't see anyone out of the ordinary... Besides that guy that tossed a bone onto our table last night." Nami points to Luffy, he happened to be eating at that moment too, catching your gazes and waves, getting up and coming your way. You shut the folder, waving at him.

"Probably him." You whisper to Nami as he joins the two of you. "Good morning Luffy, how are you?"

"I'm good! Thanks for going with Sabo last night he's been in such a good mood all day!" He chuckles cheerfully.

"Hehe, he must really like you ___," Nami teases.

"He always did when we were in school... But then Ace..." He trails off, frowning briefly. You frown a little.

"Right...I remember that." You say, scratching the back of your neck. Ace had gone missing a few years earlier, but the search for him had turned up nothing leaving a good portion of the town believing he had run off with some girl, or that he was dead.

"Yeah... But, I'm glad you finally noticed him!" He grins. "I'm supposed to be meeting with him soon, see you later!" He chimes heading off.

"Yeah...see you later." You wait for him to walk off, opening your notebook and marking his name down next to the color. "Okay...blood red where are you..." Nami looks at you for a few moments.

"Is that all you have to say about that?" She raises an eyebrow at you.

"I mean I never knew that Sabo liked me in school." You say, a small smile on your lips. "Wish I had noticed him sooner?"

"I think it's cute," She giggles, "So many coincidences."

"Yeah. Coincidences. They're great." You hum, following the map again.

"I wonder who else we know that are actually mages..." She murmurs, peering at it. "Oh, that's the alley where the gang hangs out."

"That's only slightly alarming." You mutter, checking the dot again before tucking the folder under your arm. "Well, the dot is down there, so I guess we are paying them a visit."

"Well... Good thing I brought my tazer." She jokes nervously, arm linking with yours.

"I'm sure we'll be fine." You mumble, walking down the alley. Voices catch your ear making you tilt your head as you spot a familiar redhead leaning against a wall. "Kid?"

"Of course." Nami breathes. He turns his head at that before approaching until he stood a foot two away.

"You looking for me ladies?" He questions lightly.

"Maybe. Maybe not. We were just wandering." You tell him, with a small shrug. His amber eyes narrow slightly, peering at Nami who swallows.

"Wandering to my alley. What's that?" He plucks the folder from your grasp.

"H-Hey!" Nami gasps.

"Honestly, nothing you'd be interested in." You tell him, trying to play off how important the map was. "It's a piece of art. Old map of the town." He hums and looks at the map, face shadowing briefly as the map turns blood red from his touch. He closes the folder before cupping your chin firmly.

"You shouldn't lie to me. I don't know why you have this. But I suggest you don't get too nosey. Your kind tend to shatter if they fall to this side." He breathes before pulling away. "This is mine now. Get lost." He adds, turning away.

"No!" You shout, reaching forward to grab the back of his shirt. "Please, don't take that. We...we're trying to help. Hear me out okay?" He sighs, turning to you.

"We don't need help. You'll just cause problems."

"She said, give it back!" Nami growls, tazing him. Kid blinks unphased, giving her a glare as the taser bursts into pieces. She yelps and jumps back.

"My point exactly."

"Stop!" You growl, stepping closer to Kid. "Look a hunter moved in down the street from us. He's out to get all of you because he thinks one of you killed his dad! And I know you're full of yourself, but I don't want anyone getting hurt if I have a way to stop it!" He meets your gaze.

"Thanks for the information. But as I said, you're not-"

"___?" Sabo's voice makes the three of you pause. You look back as the blond comes over, touching your back. "Everything okay?"

"He took her folder," Nami tells him. Sabo looks at the folder, stepping forward and meeting Kid's glare with a chilling stare, taking the folder away from the red head.

"Fine. Don't say I didn't warn ya." Kid scoffs, pulling away and stalking off. Sabo gives you back the folder.

"Come on, let's get you two away from here." He breathes, turning you and Nami around.

"Thank you, Sabo." You murmur, looking over your shoulder to watch Kid stalk off around a corner. The three of you end up back on the sidewalk outside the alley, you now holding the folder tightly against your chest. He frowns lightly.

"You okay?" He inquires lightly, touching your shoulder.

"Yeah. I'm okay, don't worry. He's just a jerk." You huff, shaking your head a little. "Thank you for coming to our rescue though."

"O-Oh no problem, Luffy and I were walking past when I spotted you... Usually, Kid is friendly with girls." He frowns, glancing back.

"He must be in a bad mood again!" Luffy comments, appearing beside Nami.

"Yeah. Must have just caught him on a bad day or something." You say with a shrug. "Where were you guys headed?"

"Oh, we were-"

"We're going to the lake!" Luffy says cheerfully.

"Yeah, Luffy wants to go swimming." Sabo shrugs.

"Oh, that sounds like fun!" You smile, "It's a nice day for it. We should get going, don't wanna keep you from it. I hope you two have fun."

"Aww, you don't want to come?" Luffy pouts at that.

"I would but I don't have clothes to swim in." You tell him.

"Actually, after that, swimming sounds really nice," Nami comments to you.

"We can walk you home real quick so you can get your clothes." Sabo offers.

"If you guys really don't mind, swimming does sound nice. I don't wanna keep you guys from going or anything. Our house is a little out of the way." You say, rocking on your heels.

"No trouble at all, it's more fun with more people," Sabo assures, touching your shoulder as you start for the house.

"Lake party!" Luffy chimes. You laugh lightly, the four of you heading towards your house. When you get home you invite the two guys in, gesturing to the living room. "Make yourselves at home. We'll be right back!" You tell them, going to your room and shoving the folder with the map back into your desk drawer. "Now...bathing suit..."

"Oh! ___! I almost forgot!" Nami rushes in with a cute little bikini. "I got this for you!" She breathes cheerfully. "Sabo is going to be in awe!" She breathes cheerfully. You blink at it before nodding with a small smile.

"Yeah, that is really cute." Taking the bikini from your friend, you push her back out of your room, changing quickly and pulling on a pair of shorts and a tank top on over it. "Alright, ready to go?" You ask, joining everyone back in the living room.

"Yeah!" Luffy chimes.

"Do you have towels?" Sabo reminds you. "You may want them later."

"Oh right..." You laugh, going to the closet in the bathroom to grab a towel for you and Nami, handing the other woman hers when you get back to the living room. "There...I think that's everything." He nods and leads the way out. Luffy starts to ramble cheerfully about swimming and the lake.

You smile as you listen to Luffy ramble, laughing quietly at how excited he was about it. The four of you reach the lake a little while later, Luffy taking off excitedly. You walk over to a bench, setting your towel down and stripping down to your bathing suit.

"I knew that would suit you!" Nami giggles, stripping as well. She glances over and turns your chin as Sabo removes his shirt, back turned to you, muscles rippling, pale scars marking his left side here and there. However, that didn't make him appear any less attractive.

"Really regret not noticing any of that sooner..." You mumble, eyes scanning over the blond. "Oh dear lord I need help..." You shake your head, blushing lightly and shifting your gaze away from him so he wouldn't catch you openly staring at him.

"Hehehe, come on! Let's dive in." She nudges you before going into the water.

"Come on ___!" Luffy chimes. Giggling, you sit on the end of the pier and slipping into the water.

"Oh cold!" You squeak once you resurface, brushing the water from your face.

"It's refreshing," Nami sighs in content, floating on her back until hands appear over her sides, tickling her, She sits up with a gasp, giggling as Luffy appears in the water behind her.

"Shishishi! I got you Nami!"

"I'm going to drown you!"

"Ahhh!" Luffy gasps, trying to escape the woman.

"Saw that coming..." Sabo murmurs next to you.

"Mhmm. Hopefully she won't actually drown him..." You murmur watching Nami chase Luffy as best she could through the water. Turning to look at Sabo, you tilt your head a little before grinning and splashing him with a wave of water. You stick your tongue out at him, ducking under the water to swim away. He blinks in surprise before smiling and ducking and the water and swimming after you, circling you playfully. You pop back up out of the water, giggling to yourself as you look around for the blonde again.

"Boo." He breathes against your ear. You squeak in surprise as a shiver runs down your spine making you turn and splash him again. He chuckles, splashing you back.

"Hey, you know sometimes they find gems in the sands of the lake." He murmurs lightly.

"Really? That sounds interesting. I bet they're pretty..."

"Want to try and find some with me?" He lowers himself in the water, nose just above the water, blue eyes watching you carefully.

"Sure. Sounds fun." You smile brightly, sinking down into the water before diving down completely. He follows after you, swimming beside you, it got darker, but for some reason, it was like a light sat between you two. Once you reach the bottom, you look over at Sabo, giving him a small smile before starting to sift through the sand around you. He does the same, moving around you steadily, clouds of sand drifting up steadily.

After a little bit of searching, your lungs start to burn. You frown, pushing off the sandy floor of the lake with your feet back to the surface. When you break the surface of the water, you take a few deep breaths before diving back down again to search some more. Sabo was still down searching, he pauses, holding onto a large rock and watching you. 'You okay?' He signals. You give him a thumbs up and a smile, starting to sift through the sand again. He moves around the rock, putting his hand in the sand and feeling around. A hum leaves him, making you look over as he peers at something in his hand. He looks at you and points up and offers his hand to you. You take his hand letting him pull you to the surface of the lake, the both of you letting out the breath you had been holding.

"Did you find one?"

"Not very big but..." He holds up the fang shaped gem. "You can see the colors if you put it to the light." He holds it up toward the sun.

"It's still really pretty." You hum, watching the blues and greens at the gem sparkle in the sunlight. "It's really awesome that you found one."

"I'm glad I did because now, I can give it to you." He smiles, putting in your hand before moving away only to get tackled by Luffy. You giggle watching the two brothers wrestle for a few seconds before swimming over to the pier and climbing up to sit on it. Opening your hand, you smile at the little gem wondering if you could find a way to make it into a necklace.

"Today is nice..." Nami breathes behind you, making you look back to find her sunbathing on the pier. She peers at you and smiles. "Where did you go? Were you two kissing under the waves?" She teases

"No!" You huff swinging your legs onto the pier to lay down next to her. "We were looking for gems. Like this one." You hold the gem up in the sun, letting it sparkle.

"Pretty! That's so sweet and cute~" She giggles peering at it thoughtfully.

"It is." You smile, wrapping your fingers around it again so you wouldn't drop it. Rolling over onto your stomach, you watch the two brothers splash around in the lake with a fond smile on your face. "He is really sweet..."

"He certainly is," She breathes before closing her eyes. Luffy soon comes back onto the pier and Sabo rests his arms on the pier, leaning his chin on them.

"Thanks for inviting us." You hum, giving Sabo a small smile. "It's been forever since we have had a chance to come out here." He meets your gaze.

"I'm glad you wanted to come." He shrugs slightly, he rests his cheek on his arm, looking into your eyes. "It's fun whenever you come along."

"Is that right?" You hum. "Well, I'm glad you enjoy my company." He smiles a bit more at that.

"Yeah..." He breathes lightly. Nami yawns, stretching and practically pushing you close to Sabo, making you two come nose to nose. Sabo's eyes widen, blush taking over his face. Your eyes widen and you freeze not making a move to pull away, but not really moving closer either. He was still for a moment before releasing a slight breath and moving under the pier. "S-Sorry." He manages.

"Um, it's okay." You hum, tossing Nami and slight glare before leaning over the edge of the pier to look at him. "You don't have to go hide." He smiles up at you sheepishly, face bright red.

"I'm not hiding, just uh... Relaxing." He chuckles lightly.

"Mhmm." You giggle, reaching down to splash water at him. "You can relax up here ya know?"

"But I like the water." He chuckles, splashing back lightly.

"Okaaaay." You pout, sticking your tongue out at him. He blinks before smiling and climbing onto the pier beside you.

"Alright alright. Don't pout." He hums thoughtfully. You smile up at him, watching his eyes sparkle as he watched the water. The blue of his eyes made your heart skip. He peers at you and smiles back, eyes locking with yours but he doesn't say anything. You blush, glancing back down at the water, a nervous chuckle leaving your lips. He blinks and blushes, giving a little cough.

"So what now?" He inquires lightly.

"Hmmm... There's a food stand over there," Luffy speaks up with a point

"Food sounds good." You hum, pushing yourself up from the pier. They get up at that, Luffy starting for the food stand, Sabo stands back, looking at the waters again quietly. You start towards the food stand, looking back at Sabo and stopping.

"Something wrong?" You question tilting your head.

"Hm? No...Just enjoying today..." He tosses you a smile, "Feels like I could wake up at any moment..."

"Well, I'm glad you're having a good day." You smile at him. He looks at you before going to your side, heading for the food stand with you.

"What do you want to eat?" You shrug.

"I dunno. I'll figure it out. Pizza maybe? What about you?"

"Pizza sounds good, wonder if we can find something more to do... Maybe a nature walk?" He puts a knuckle to his bottom lip in thought.

"That sounds like fun. Know any good places around here?" You ask.

"There should be some around the lake." He shrugs slightly.

"Okay. We can get food and then go see what we can find."

"Sounds good." He smiles at you. Once the two of you get to the food stand you stand in line behind Nami and Luffy. The four of you order, going to a picnic table to sit down and eat lunch.

"That little food stand has really good food."

"Yeah! They're great! Luffy chimes happily.

"Mm, I think I'll head home after this..." Nami hums.

"I'll walk with you, I'm still gonna be hungry after this." Luffy chuckles.

"Oh okay. I think Sabo and I are gunna go on a walk." You tell them. "So I guess I'll see you when I get home."

"Alright, sounds like fun." Nami smiles thoughtfully. When the four of you finish eating, you stand, stretching with a sigh.

"See you guys later."

"Bye!" Nami and Luffy chime, heading off together.

"Alright, I guess we should find that path." Sabo stands up as well.

"Yeah. I should put regular clothes back on though." You laugh going back over to the bench where you had left your clothes and putting them on over your bathing suit. You tuck them gem into the pocket of your shorts, smiling at it again. He swiftly gets redressed as well.

"Alright let's go." He offers you a smile. The two of you walk along the edge of the trees until you spot a path, turning down it. You hum quietly to yourself, tucking your hands in the pockets of your shorts as you look around at the greenery.

"At least it's nice and shady." He hums in agreement, peering around thoughtfully with a smile.

"It is nice..."

"Mhmm." You nod a thoughtful smile on your face. "So what do you do now? For work or do you have hobbies or anything? He pauses and swallows.

"I'm... An experimental cook! Looking for um new flavors..." He stammers, rubbing his neck.

"Is that right?" You giggle. "Sounds like an interesting thing to do."

"It's... Very messy. What about you?" He peers at you curiously.

"Nothing interesting. I work at the museum downtown. I do tours and such." You tell him.

"Oh, I didn't know you still worked there." He hums thoughtfully.

"Yeah...I really like it. There is so much history in such a small room. It's amazing." You smile. "I'm surprised they've kept me around as long as they have. I mean I started there as a volunteer back in high school..."

"Well, you are nice to have around." He smiles, "And you are passionate about it, your tours were always fun."

"Really? You think so?" You question, looking up at him. You hadn't remembered him ever being in a tour, not that you had paid attention to anyone that was there always being too excited about talking about the artifacts. He blushes.

"Y-Yeah you're the main reason I go back every few months..."

"Oh. Well, I'm glad you enjoy the tours so much!"

"Yep." He looks away and stops.

"Oh no..." He frowns at a clearing, the plants were brown, black spots shown here and there.

"What's happened to them?" You frown, stepping a little further into the clearing. "This is weird..."

"They're dying... All of them." He murmurs, looking up at a tree with the same problem, frown deepening. "Is it okay if we walk the area to see how much is affected? Then I'll call the rangers." He looks to you.

"Yeah, that's fine." You nod, your eyes roaming over all the dead plants. He pauses and offers you his hand before guiding you along the edge of the dying plants. The frown grew as he took it in with a low hum.

"This is a large area that's affected."

"It is...I wonder what could have caused this..." You say, "For this much to die all at one time, it's just not natural."

"Damn... We'll have to cut this short." He sighs in slight annoyance. "I'll walk you home now." He looks at you.

"Okay." You nod with a small frown, looking back at the dying trees before the two of you head towards your house. He was quiet for a bit, seeming unhappy about the situation, but you really wanted to see his smile. "Hey, try not to worry about it too much okay. I'm sure there is an explanation." You tell him, squeezing his hand and bringing it up to kiss the back of it. He freezes eyes widening at that, a blush covering his face. He puts his free hand over his face, starting to laugh. You blink, blushing lightly. "Oh uh...sorry..." He lowers his hand to show you an affectionate smile.

"You keep surprising me, you know? I like that spontaneous side of you." You scratch your cheek with a small smile.

"Well, that's a good thing." He swallows, watching you for a moment.

"Can I... Try something?" He asks carefully. You tilt your head in confusion.

"Um sure. Go for it." He hums, carefully leaning forward and kissing your cheek, catching the corner of your lips. You blush, looking at him in slight shock before smiling brightly. "You're such a gentleman Sabo."

"I just don't want to scare you off by crossing a line." He breathes, giving your hand a light squeeze before guiding you home again. When the two of you reach your front door, you rock back on your heels, giving Sabo a small smile. "I had a lot of fun. Let's do this again okay?"

"Of course, have a goodnight ___." He offers a smile, kissing your knuckle gently, peering into your eyes as he does.

"Goodnight Sabo." You hum, squeezing his hand. "Be safe on your way home." He nods before heading off. You go inside a small smile on your face before collapsing down onto the couch next to Nami.

"So... How did your alone time go?" She giggles, offering you some popcorn. You take a handful, a small smile on your face.

"It went good. Great. Well..." You frown. "We ran into a dead patch in the woods. It was really weird..."

"That is weird... Is that why you came back so soon?" She raises an eyebrow.

"Yeah...he said he was going to go report it to the ranger."

"... He could've done that there, there's ranger station on the way. Maybe he meant something else?"

"Maybe..." You frown, standing from the couch and going into your room to grab the map from your desk drawer. Sure enough, his dot was stopped in front of the old theater building, the other dots moving toward him and disappearing into the building without a trace. You walk back into the living room, furrowing your eyebrows at the map as you say down next to Nami. "Weird...."

"Whats up?" She asks, peering at it.

"He went to the old theater..." You murmur. "A few other people joined him and they disappeared once they went inside."

"... Maybe what's going on isn't for humans to know?" She suggests.

"Maybe..." You sigh, a little worried. "I hope he doesn't get himself into trouble..." She smiles, peering at you.

"You liiiike him~ You wanna kisssss him~"

"Oh hush." You giggle, pushing her shoulder with a light blush.

"I tried to help! Another inch and you would've kissed!" She giggles.

"I knew you did that on purpose!" You laugh, leaning against her with a smile. "Maybe I should give him a chance. He is really sweet..."

"I think you should. And... He looks so happy whenever I catch him watching you. It's cute." She smiles thoughtfully.

"I just don't want to rush into it..." You sigh a little. "I dunno, I'll think about it."

"You should at least get his number." She nudges you. You blink, laughing a little.

"Yeah...probably. It would be weird to just keep 'coincidentally' running into him."

"Good, here you go." She holds up a slip of paper with a phone number on it. "Luffy said he'd probably be too shy to give it to you or ask." You grin, taking the slip of paper.

"So how do I say I got it? Magic?"

"Sounds good." She hums lightly, smiling thoughtfully.

"So much help." You hum, pulling your phone from your pocket and typing the number in.

'Hey, Sabo! It's _____. Just thought I'd text you so you'd have my number.'

"I doubt he'll mind." She hums thoughtfully. Then your phone vibrates and you check to see he replied.

You giggle, typing out a quick reply.

'I do like pleasant surprises though. But this is nice.'

"Geez he's a sugar cube." Nami snickers.

"Yeah. But I sorta like it. It's nice." You hum, smiling at your phone as you reply.

"I suppose." Your roommate hums in thought.

'It's okay! Don't worry! Did you get a chance to talk to someone about what we saw?'

You nudge Nami in the side, grabbing another handful of popcorn from the bowl she had. "Better than the ones who don't care."

'Yeah, we're discussing it now, apparently, a parasite has come to town, they're going to keep an eye out for any other spots where it's been. Hopefully, we can get rid of it...'

"I'm just wondering, everyone has two sides, I wonder what kind of person he is when he's not sweet." She says in thought.

'Yeah...I hope so :/'

You frown at Nami's statement, leaning back against the couch. "Yeah..."

'Hey don't worry about it, everything will be fine!'

"I can't see him being a bad person though." She nudges you, offering a smile.

'Yeah. I'm sure it will be. Have a good night Sabo.'

"Very true. He is such a perfect gentleman." You hum, tucking your phone into your pocket and turning to watch the tv. A little while later, Robin comes in setting her purse down on the table before joining the two of you with a bag of Chinese food. The three of you eat together, you and Nami filling her in on your days. After eating, you push yourself up from the couch with a sigh. "Well, I'm gonna go take a shower before going to bed maybe do some reading or something. I'll see you guys in the morning."

"Goodnight ___," Nami chimes.

"Sweet dreams." Robin smiles. You go into your room, tucking the folder with the map in it back into the drawer of your desk. Remembering the gem from earlier, you pull it from your pocket and set it on your bedside table before grabbing a set of clothes to change into. "Okay, shower then bed..."

*Meanwhile*

"Anything?" Sabo asks the tan man wearing a black and yellow hoodie.

"Nope, it's no one in town." He sighs.

"Maybe someone was passing through?" Luffy suggests.

"They wouldn't have made it that obvious, the humans would notice." The tan man points out.

"Maybe Sabo should ask his girlfriend to look at her map." A voice rumbles, making them look over as Kid comes into the light.

"What are you talking about?" Sabo huffs in confusion.

"That folder you took from me earlier had one of the hunting maps in it." Kid informs him. Sabo blinks in shock before dropping his gaze.

"That's why..." He mutters.

"Yeah, I had it and you put it back in her hands. We'll all be in danger now." Kid growls.

"_____ isn't the type of person to rat us out. I trust her." Sabo frowns back at him.

"Trusting a human is the reason there's hardly any mages still here, remember?" Kid retorts.

"Unfortunately he has a point there." The tan man sighs.

"What will you have me do then?" Sabo questions.

"Take the folder back and erase her's and her roommates' memories." The redhead tells him.

"No way! You know that messes up humans!" Luffy objects.

"Fine, then we erase them." Kid shrugs. Sabo gets up at that.

"Listen very carefully bastard. Anyone who harms ___, in any form..." He snarls lowly.

"What will you do?" Kid taunts. A blue glow lights up Sabo's scar and his eyes ignite with a blue flame.

"I'll kill you." He warns. Kid's eyes start to glow and he leans toward the blond.

"Go ahead and try."
