Guys, Shipsrlife2 is a genius. She gave me this idea and I just HAD to write it. She's been on the recieving end of some of my post-TROS ranting and been such a good sport about it.

Valhalla, Almost Two Years after the Snap

603 days. 603 days since Loki had died. 603 days of peering into the living realm and watching family and friends fall into depressed slumps. Especially his beloved Olivia. He knew she felt guilty about that day, that she missed him more than words can describe.

One day, Loki peered to look at Olivia and she seemed more depressed than usual. She was writing something in a journal while she said what she was writing out loud, a habit she had developed. Loki knew it was because she hoped that he could hear her from Valhalla. He could hear what she was saying.

"368 days. It's been 368 days. That's how long it was after Loki fell from the Bifrost to when Odin called Thor and I in to inform us that he was alive. After today it will be the longest time I've had without him, thinking he was dead. Did I accept it then? No. Will I accept it now? Probably not. I pray to the Norns every day that someday, everything will be fixed. No one's heeded my calls yet, but I hope someday soon they will."

That day more than ever, Loki wished he could step out of the looking glass he used to observe her and embrace Olivia for the rest of time.

That's what Loki was thinking about when he was taking a walk along one of the lush, grassy plains that were all over Valhalla. Usually when new people dropped in, that's where they started. The field Loki arrived on was a few miles away (Valhalla was basically endless). Sometimes, when he took his walks, Loki would find a newly fallen someone, just as lost and confused as he was.

One time Loki specifically remembered was when a woman appeared, looking visibly shaken and confused. Listening to what the ethereal voice said (the voices were Valkyries that guarded Valhalla, their friend Val being one that spent more time on Asgard and in the living realms), she was a military woman who shielded a little boy from a bomb that was dropped nearby. The aftershock killed her, but it saved the boy's life so he could escape.

Loki approached the woman, eager to help her.

"So the old mythologies were true. After what happened in New York, I was still skeptical. But I guess Valhalla is real?" She said.

New York. Of course. Loki couldn't go one day without someone bringing up that accursed day. He brushed it off.

"Indeed it is. Do you by chance have family here?" He asked the woman.

"The voice thing said my Aunt should be here, but I don't know where." The woman said.

"It said just over the ridge, and past that little thicket of trees over there." Loki said, pointing in the general direction.

"Oh! Well, thank you. I suppose I should go. I'll see you, I guess?" The woman said uncertainly before leaving.

That was how something like that usually went.

Though, this time, when Loki spotted a man in the fields, looking lost and confused, there wasn't any ethereal Valkyrie voice to tell him where he was from or who he was. Curious, Loki went over to get a better look at the man.

His pale face was covered in cuts and bruises, the black hair that fell to just above his collarbone was dirty and knotted, falling over deep brown eyes. His clothes were all black, consisting of black knee high boots, black pants, and a sweater with rips and holes in it.

"Excuse me? Who exactly are you?" Loki asked.

"I should ask you the same thing. Also, where am I? Shouldn't my mother be here? My uncle?" The man asked.

"Well, it's hard to look for family without a name." Loki snorted.

"My last name is Solo, but my mother uses her maiden name, Organa, or Skywalker, which is my uncle's name." The man said. "It sounds complicated, I know, but my mother was adopted into a different family than my uncle's. It's kind of a long story."

"I mean, I have two last names I use interchangeably because I was adopted. My wife uses her maiden name and my biological last name interchangeably." Loki explained.

"You're married?" The man asked.

"I mean, I was. This is the realm of Valhalla, where those who died an honorable death go. My wife still lives, but she still says she's wed to me."

"Honorable death? That doesn't sound right. My family is where all the Jedi Past are." The man said, standing up and looking around.

"Jedi? No, I don't think I've heard of those. We certainly don't have any here. And those last names don't sound familiar either." Loki said.

Something was wrong, very wrong. Whoever this man was, he ended up in the wrong afterlife. If he was supposed to go where his family and "Jedi Past" were, someone made a mistake.

"And I suppose you know everything about this place, don't you?" The man said sarcastically.

"Well, no, but my mother does. She was the Queen of Asgard before she died. She knows all who enter here and tells most of it to me."

"Asgard. Is it a planet? It doesn't sound familiar."

"Well, it's gone now. I'm the Prince of a dead planet." Loki said with a sarcastic glumness.

"What are the odds? I'm the Prince of a dead planet, also. Alderaan was what it was called." The man said.

"Alderaan doesn't sound familiar to me. But maybe my mother knows. I'll take you to her." Loki said.

"I guess." The man said, following Loki.

"So, I never did get your full name." Loki said.

"Ben Solo. Solo was my father's name." The man, Ben, said.

"Very well. My first name is Loki. I said I have two last names because I was adopted. More people call me by Odinson, though technically my last name is Laufeyson. My wife adopted the latter when we wed, but she uses both names, as well as her maiden name, Iridottir. She's still the same person either way." Loki explained.

"You have complicated naming traditions." Ben commented.

"Well, for women, it's the mother's name with the suffix 'dottir' and for men, it's the father's name with the suffix 'son.' My wife, for example, her mother's name was Iri. So she is Iridottir. Iri's daughter. When wed, the wife takes the husband's last name except for certain occasions."

"That last bit is similar to how ours work. Except the last name is just passed down from generation to generation based on the father's name. We'll just pretend your wife's last name is like this. What was her father's last name?" Ben asked.

"Kynson." Loki replied.

"Then her mother would take that name, and your wife would also have that name as her maiden name." Ben said.

"I agree that that seems less confusing than how we do it." Loki admitted. There were a few moments of silence as the two men walked through more busy streets.

"What is your wife like?" Ben asked.

"She's caring, understanding, smart, strong, really a lot like me because we grew up together." Loki said. "She saw past the monster that I once was, helped me to understand that what I was. wasn't who I was."

"Strange. I can relate to that." Ben said.

"You had a woman in your life?" Loki asked.

"Briefly. We met about a year or so ago. There was a war tearing apart our galaxy and we were on opposite sides of it. Overtime, we grew to understand each other after our minds were linked. It's very complicated, but she helped me redeem myself after years of evil deeds, one of which was killing my father, even if she herself is descended from the bloodline with the most evil staining it's name. She died saving the galaxy from said bloodline, but I gave her my life so she could live. We kissed as I died. Then I wound up here." Ben explained.

"Weird coincidencences, I suppose. I killed my biological father as well to save my realm from his wicked ways." Loki said.

"Huh. Those are weird. Let me guess, better relationship with your mom than your dad? The not evil one?" Ben asked.

"Yes, actually. Led armies for malicious intentions?" Loki asked.

"Yep."

"Died saving the one you love is also one."

"You too? Crazy."

"Killed a bunch of people because someone hid something about your family that came out in a bad way?"

"My grandfather was one of the most ruthless men in the galaxy, everyone said he was evil. My mother was running for a high political position and an opponent discovered she was this man's daughter. The opponent presented proof of it that was spread galaxy wide. That's how I found out."

"I was born to a race of creatures I was taken from after they lost a war to Asgard, where I lived for most of my life. I never knew and was taught my whole life how they were vile, nasty, evil creatures. One day, I was forced on an excursion to my birth realm by my older brother that exposed what I really was."

"That's rough. And I assume your wife helped you through it."

"Yes, and your woman helped you through your troubles. What is her name?"

"Rey."

"Lovely name. My wife is named Olivia. Her parents were fond of the human realm, so they gave her a name that originated from there."

"Beautiful." Ben replied. They spoke for a few more minutes. Eventually, they arrived at the palace, the guards allowing them to enter the gates. Loki picked up the pace, searching for his mother so he could fix whatever caused this mix up to happen.

"Mother, we need your help." Loki said once he found her.

"Yes, what is it, Loki?" Frigga asked. Loki pushed Ben forward.

"This man was sent to the wrong afterlife. He has no family here and based on how his family died, they would be here." Loki explained breathlessly. Frigga turned to the other man and looked him over.

"Who are you, and what family names do you have?" Frigga asked.

"My name is Ben Solo, and I have family with the names Solo, Organa, Skywalker, and Amidala." Ben explained. Frigga looked thoughtful for a moment.

"None of those names sound familiar, and I would know if they were. I'm sure we can get you to where you're supposed to be. Do you know if that place has any name?" Frigga asked.

"I was never told one. I just know it's where all the Jedi Past end up." Ben said. Frigga agakn looked thoughtful.

"I know what realm you mean. Come, we must get you there as soon as possible. Loki, we must do this alone. I'd say your goodbyes now." Frigga said. The two men faced each other and shook hands.

"Thank you for helping me get to my family. Don't take it the wrong way, but I hope you reunite with your wife soon, she seems lovely." Ben said.

"Thank you. I hope your lady finds you some day as well." Loki replied. Frigga led Ben to another room, leaving Loki behind. Having nothing else to do, he went to his chambers and opened up a journal of his own.

He would sometimes write down interesting things that happened so that there was a chance Olivia could hear these stories.

He was sure she'd want to hear this one.
