💛💧✨ An Asgardian Wedding
A/N
This is not 418 or 419 (or 416 for that matter). Avengersgeek2019 has already written the 418 canon wedding, so go check it out!
But this basically exists in an alternate timeline where Asgard didn't obliterate, Frigga still lives, et cetera. Also I'm making assumptions/changing some Asgardian traditions etc. for this.
Based on 'A Canterlot Wedding' from My Little Pony (yes, I like MLP, sue me). It's not totally exact (I.e. the beginning), but the main story is.
Image by me, song is not (duh)
Enjoy!

"Sweet Jesus, that's a crow!!" Tony shrieked as a large black bird flew through one of the Tower windows early one morning, a roll of paper tied to it's leg.
"Fear not, Stark. It is a message from Asgard." Thor said, unrolling the paper. "It's for Lady Maya."
"Me? Why?" Maya asked skeptically, still in pyjamas and tired. So far it was just the three of them awake. "Is it Olivia and Loki?"
For several months, Loki and Olivia were back home on Asgard. Thor had relinquished his claim to the throne to his brother as it was plain Thor was meant to be a fighter, not a king. He may have also slyly slid in the fact that heirs were far more probable for them as Thor wasn't currently with someone. Olivia and Loki were undergoing essentially classes for claiming the throne once Odin stepped down.
"No, it's my mother." Thor said, also raising an eyebrow at the bizzare situation.
"Ooookay." Maya said, taking the paper from Thor.
"Lady Maya Adams. I am sure you are just as excited about the upcoming wedding as I am- Wedding??" She started reading aloud.
"Lady M-" Thor tried to interject before Maya cut him off, continuing.
"I will be presiding over the ceremony, but I would very much appreciate it if you and your team would help with the preparations for the celebration. I would like for James Barnes to provide the music, maybe with some help from Carson Ambrose. I can think of no one more qualified to host the reception than Tony Stark."
"Sweet! Booze abound!!" Tony said, pumping his fist. Maya rolled her eyes.
"Wanda Maximoff should be in charge of the catering. I have heard lovely things about her baking capabilities. I would love it if Carol Danvers could create a sort of 'light show' with her plasma blasts and flying as the bride and groom are presented to the people. Natasha Romanoff should help with the dresses for the bride and her bridesmaids. And as for you, Maya, you will be playing the most important role: making sure that everything goes as planned and acting as Maid of Honor. See you all very soon on Asgard. Yours, Queen Frigga." Maya finished, before flipping the paper over, confused. "I don't understand, who's getting married?"
"Oh, this must be the invitation." Tony said, handing her a paper that fell on the floor. Maya rolled her eyes as she unfolded it, ignoring Thor desperately trying to say something.
"The Avengers are coridally invited by the Royal Family of Asgard to the wedding of- HOLY SHIT!"
"What?" Tony said, trying to snatch the paper from Maya, who held it just out of his reach.
"It's Loki and Olivia's wedding!" Maya said, reading the rest of the paper.
"About damn time!" Tony snarked.
"But why do we have to find out from an invite and not my best friends?" Maya asked.
"I understand your concern, Lady Maya, and I too sort of wish my brother had told me personally. However their duties must have gotten in the way. I would try to not be too upset about it." Thor said, placing a hand on Maya's shoulder.
"I guess you're right. Wait, does this mean we get to go to Asgard?" Maya asked.
"That's where the wedding is." Thor said warmly.
"HECK YES!!" Maya yelled in excitement. "When are we leaving?"
"Hopefully not long after the others wake up and pack. It'll only be for a week or so on Asgard, though it might be a couple of months here. Time is different on Asgard." Thor said.
"Who will save the city if something goes wrong?" Tony asked.
"You have your 'first responders,' right?" Thor asked.
"Yeah, okay. We'll wait for the others to wake up before we go." Tony said.

Bifrost Connection Point, Avengers Tower.
"Everyone ready?" Steve asked.
"I am!" Maya said, jumping with her two suitcases excitedly.
"Be warned, the Bifrost can be discombobulating, especially if you have never used it before. Be careful." Thor said.
"Let's do this!" Tony said.
"Heimdall! Take us to Asgard!" Thor called. Not a second later, a swirl of rainbows surrounded the team before launching them off their feet.
Being honest, Maya started feeling a little nauseous. But she still found it weirdly fun.
After a minute, the team appeared in a golden observatory that overlooked a wide galaxy of stars.
"We have to do that again." Maya said.
"Oh god, please no." Carson said, clutching his stomach and heaving.
"Welcome to Asgard." A voice said. They team faced a man with gold armor and a large sword.
"Heimdall, these are the Avengers. How are the wedding preparations?" Thor asked.
"On track. Though, be warned, Thor. There has been a threat against Asgard from someone even I cannot see. Stay safe and make your way to the palace. Quickly." Heimdall warned.
"Noted. Come along, everyone." Thor said, gesturing to his team. That's when they got the full view of the palace in front of them as they walked along the rainbow bridge.
"That's where you live?" Wanda asked, wide eyed.
"Indeed. I can come and go as I please, though eventually it will be my brother's palace and not my father's." Thor replied. "You'll find everything you'll need in there. Kitchen, sewing room, reception hall, among other things."
"Still can't believe Nat can sew." Tony said.
"I have non-assassin related talents, Tony." Nat said, rolling her eyes.
"She made my kids' Halloween costumes for the past few years." Clint added.
Once the team reached the palace, they went their separate ways to the various locations they were in charge of. Maya was in conversation with Thor when she all but walked into a figure.
"Thor, I need to speak with Maya alone. Go find Mother, she need to talk with you." Loki told his brother.
"Sure thing." Thor replied, walking in another direction.
"So, you finally asked Olivia to marry you?" Maya asked.
"Yes I did." Loki said proudly as he and Maya continued walking.
"How long ago? What was her reaction?" Maya asked rapid fire.
"Slow down, slow down. It was about a month ago our time. She got really excited. I'm really glad my mother asked for you to keep everything on track. It's been stressful the past few days." Loki said.
"Uh, thanks? Anyways, I-"
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything important." A voice said. Maya glanced up to see Olivia with her arms folded.
"Olivia!" Maya said excitedly, running up to her friend. "See any moths around lately?"
"Huh?" Olivia asked.
"Moths, y'know... The prank?" Maya said.
"Uh huh..." Olivia said, glancing at Maya oddly before going over to join Loki.
"I've got to go speak with my father about the ceremony, but Olivia will be checking in with all of you to see how things are going. I think I speak for both of us when I say we're more than excited to have you here. Right, Dove?" Loki said.
"Absolutely." Olivia agreed, though Maya noticed a weird look in her eyes and an uncharacteristic smirk on her face. Then again, Olivia used that expression when she was messing around with Loki. Still, Maya had a bad feeling growing in her gut...

Kitchens
Maya sat on the floor of the kitchens with a checklist Wanda had handed her. Her arms were folded as Wanda ran back and forth from station to station.
"Wedding cake. Check." She said. Maya checked a box on the list.
"Best mini apple fritters you've ever tasted?" Wanda added, handing one to Maya to sample. She ate it, finding it did taste really good.
"Check." She said, folding the checklist as all the boxes were checked. She saw Clint messing around with the figurines meant to resemble Loki and Olivia. She shot a glare at him, before Clint sheepishly put them down.
"Hey Livvy!" Wanda greeted from the other side of the room as a door opened. Maya looked over to see Olivia entering the room.
"It's Olivia." Olivia said curly.
"Oh, uh, hey Olivia. You've come to check out what's on the menu for your big day?" Wanda asked. Olivia smiled wide. It almost seemed forced to Maya, or dare she say, fake?
"I have!" Olivia said brightly, before rolling her eyes and scrunching her nose. Maya watched her carefully.
Wanda handed Olivia one of the apple fritters, which she took cautiously. She took a bite, before contorting her lips ever so slightly.
"Uh, delicious! I love, love, love them!" She said, though Maya thought it sounded like fake gratitude.
"Awww, well can you get me a bag?" Wanda asked. Olivia nodded once before using magic to grab a paper bag from the counter.
Wait, Olivia's magic isn't blue, it's green like Loki's. Maya thought suspiciously. Wanda dumped a few pastries in the bag before handing it back to Olivia. She took it slowly.
"You can have some to take. I remember how hungry Pepper got before her wedding." Wanda said.
"Uh... Thanks." Olivia said, again curtly. She started to walk out the kitchen, but not before throwing the bag into the trash. Maya gasped a little, shocked at Olivia's actions. Her friend was usually so sweet. Why was she suddenly being really... Well, bitchy was the only word Maya could think of.
"Did you see what she-?" Maya started to ask Wanda, but she had already started helping the kitchen staff make more foods. Sighing, Maya left the kitchens.

Sewing Room
"Oh, you should have seen how she acted back there. I don't know what happened to her, but she's acting like a supreme bitch all of a sudden. I mean, Wanda called her Livvy, but she was super insistent on being called Olivia, which-" Maya started to say to a busy Natasha.
"Did I hear someone say my name?" Olivia's voice rang out in the room.
Jesus Christ, it's like Beetlejuice. Say her name three times and she appears out of nowhere. Maya thought bitterly.
"Oh, good, you're here!" Nat said.
"Is my dress ready?" Olivia asked.
"Oh, uh, yes, of course." Nat said, leading Olivia to the dress stand, a mostly finished dress set up. "I've been working on it since I heard I was doing the dress. I think you'll be pleased with the results."
"I was hoping for something with a longer train and a deeper neckline." Olivia said shortly before moving on.
"Uh, okay?" Nat asked, writing something in a notebook.
"And those should be a different color." Olivia said, gesturing to the blue bridesmaids dresses for Valkyrie, one of Olivia's friends Neyra from childhood, and Lady Sif.
"I think they're fine." Maya interjected, intentionally trying to be an ass to test Olivia. "After all, it is like the flower Loki gave you as kids."
"What? Oh, uh, yes. But I was hoping for purple." Olivia said, picking at her nail. Maya looked at Olivia even more suspiciously.
"Alright, if that's what you want." Nat said as Olivia stalked out.
"Geez, maybe her name should be Lady Demandy-Pants." Maya snarked as she left Nat to her work. Carefully following Olivia, Maya found her talking with Tony about the reception.
"So, games, dances, I'd say we're pretty close to on track." Tony said.
"Perfect! If we were celebrating a six year old's birthday party..." Olivia muttered, but Tony didn't hear. Maya narrowed her eyes as she peered around her pillar hiding spot.
Something was up with her friend, and Maya didn't like it at all.

Palace Balcony, Nighttime.
Maya, Wanda, Nat, Tony, Bucky, Carson, Carol, and Clint were sitting outside on a balcony overlooking the palace gardens, glasses with fruity drinks at their table. The rest of the team was asleep in their rooms.
"I bet I can guess what you're all thinking... Olivia is the WORST bride to be EVER." Maya said, taking a sip of her drink.
The team stared at her in shock.
"Maya, what are you talking about? Olivia's absolutely amazing." Nat said.
"Nat, she was so demanding!" Maya argued.
"Well, of course she was. She expects the very best on her wedding day. And you do remember what she told us years ago?"
"What?"
"When she's stressed, she said she gets bitchy. She has a wedding to worry about AND she's soon going to be Queen of Asgard. Look me in the eyes and tell me that's not stressful." Nat said, twirling the straw in her drink.
"Wanda, did you know that after she told you how much she love, love, LOVED your fritters, she threw them in the trash?" Maya asked.
"Aww, she was probably trying to spare my feelings." Wanda said, waving her hand in a dismissive gesture.
"No, she was being fake and totally insincere!" Maya said.
"She did raise her voice at one of the musicians during rehearsal." Carson admitted.
"See? Rude!" Maya said as if that proved her point.
"But he was playing really off key." Bucky added.
"Tony, you had to have noticed how Olivia-" Maya started, but cut herself off when she saw Tony and Clint messing with the cake figurines, making them kiss obnoxiously.
"Nevermind. Carol, you're with me, right?" Maya asked.
"Sorry, Maya. I've been too busy practicing to notice the bride's bad attitude." Carol said, flexing her fingers. Maya groaned and flopped her head on the table.
"Remember what I said, Maya. Olivia's about to get married after hundreds of years with Loki and about to inherit the throne. I'm sure she's just bitch-stressing, like she said she does-" Nat tried to say before Maya pounded her fist on the table.
"And I'M sure something is severely wrong with her! I've been noticing lots of little things and you all are too caught up in your wedding plans to realize it!" Maya yelled, bumping the table and spilling everyone's drinks as she stomped off.

Loki's Quarters
Maya knocked on the door a few times, bouncing on the balls of her feet. Surely Loki would notice if something was wrong with Olivia. He opened the door wearing an elaborate suit (Thor 1) and his helm under his arm.
"Oh, uh, hello, Maya. Is something wrong?" Loki asked her.
"We need to talk." She said. Loki gestured her inside his room as she sat at his desk.
"Yes? What is it?"
"Do you think that something's off with-" Maya started, but was cut off by someone clearing their throat. Maya turned in her seat to see Olivia standing at the doorway that conjoined their two rooms.
"Oh, uh, hello, my dove." Loki greeted.
"She sure has a way of sneaking up on people." Maya muttered.
"Could I speak to you for a moment, love?" Olivia asked sharply.
"Better see what she wants." Loki told Maya, standing up and following Olivia to her room, mostly closing the door behind them, but not all the way. Maya snuck over to the door and peered through the crack in the door.
"I thought I made it perfectly clear I didn't want you to wear that." Olivia snapped.
"I have to. Besides, it's my royal outfit and I should wear it to my wedding." Loki replied calmly.
"Are you disagreeing with me?" Olivia asked.
"I guess I am." Loki replied shortly, before cutting himself off, grimacing as his hand went to his head.
"Oh dear, are you getting another one of your headaches?" Olivia asked sympathetically, before she pressed her hand to his forehead, her now blue magic glowing from her hand. Maya's eyes widened as Loki's eyes shut tight. They opened, a crystal blue color.
"Oh my god." Maya whispered as she saw Loki's eyes fade back to green, very slowly. She bolted from the room just as the door opened.
"Maya?" Loki called after her.
"Let her go." Olivia said, hugging him around the back of his neck, burying her face in his chest.
"Huh. It seemed like there was something else she wanted to talk to me about." Loki said, confused.

Sewing Room
"Guys! I-" Maya started to say as she burst in, but cut herself off once she saw Wanda, Nat, and Carol with dresses. "What's going on here?"
"Can you believe it? Olivia asked us to be her new bridesmaids" Wanda squealed.
"New bridesmaids?" Maya asked. "What happened to her old bridesmaids?"
"She didn't say, but she said she would love it if we filled in for them." Nat said.
"Are you sure this is what I should wear? It doesn't seem all that aerodynamic." Carol said.
"Mmm... I'll see what I can do." Nat said, leading the girls away. Maya hung her head and sighed, leaving the room.
"Guess I really am on my own." She said dejectedly, heading for her room.

The Next Morning, Wedding Hall
"Perfect, ladies. No need to rush." Frigga said warmly as Nat, Carol, and Wanda walked down the pathway.
Of course there was a practice run for the wedding to make sure it was absolutely perfect. Carol and Nat side eyed each other, smiling in excitement.
"Then, of course, Olivia will enter." Frigga added as the back doors opened, revealing Olivia, standing at attention. She slowly walked down the path and made her way up to the dais where Frigga and Loki were waiting for her. Loki smiled at Olivia warmly. "I'll say a few words, and then we'll start the vows. Then the rings-"
"Hey, where's Maya?" Wanda asked.
The doors burst open. Maya stomped up to the dais.
"I'm here! Forgive my bluntness, Your Highness, but I'm NOT gonna stand next to her. And neither should any of you!" Maya called. Loki bit his lip and looked at Olivia.
"I'm sorry, I don't know why she's acting like this." He said.
"Maybe we should just ignore her." Olivia suggested.
"You have to listen to me!" Maya yelled.
"Oh goodness, are you okay?" Wanda asked.
"I'm fine."
"You sure about that?" Carol asked. Maya didn't answer before she continued forward.
"I've got something to say!" She said, before pointing to Olivia. "She's EVIL!"
Everyone started muttering amongst themselves as Loki stepped in front of Olivia to defend her. Maya just pushed on by and started cornering Olivia, who looked noticeably skittish.
"She's been horrible to the team, she's obviously done SOMETHING to her bridesmaids, and if THAT wasn't enough, I saw her put a spell on Loki that made his eyes go all bluey! And the little things! She's always fine with nicknames, unlike now! She doesn't remember the stupid moth prank, she picks at her nails when nervous now instead of her lip, she thinks kids are six years old when we know six years fot an Asgardian is barely a newborn in human terms, and her magic is blue now, not green! So there!" Maya said, before smiling, knowing she had Olivia trapped.
Olivia started hiccuping and crying a little.
"Why are you doing this to me? I thought we were friends!" She spluttered, before running out of the room in tears.
"Because you're Evil!! EVIL!" Maya called after her, seemingly triumphant. She strutted back into the room, confident, before smacking right into someone. She looked up and saw Loki staring her down, a sour look on his face.
"You want to know why Olivia used magic like that? Because ever since I've had to learn the ins and outs of actual ruling, the stress has been giving me terrible migraines. She's been using her magic to heal me. She decided to replace her bridesmaids because she feels a closer connection to her team than her older friends from Asgard; Neyra was being a bitch to her lately as well. We can change magic colors as we like, she was trying to experiment with blue today. She uses Midgardian ages because she knows some of your team can be stupid sometimes, namely Stark, so she gives relative ages to help you understand. She got a cut on her cuticle and she has a bad habit of picking at hangnails when that happens." Loki started yelling at Maya.
"I was just trying to-" Maya started.
"And if she's having a hard time remembering small things like the moth thing and being a little bitchy to the team, it's because we're so busy getting ready for the throne to be passed down, me being hammered with it all of a sudden, she's been having to make all the decisions about the wedding ON TOP OF the stress of knowing she's suddenly going to be Queen soon. We've been thinking about this wedding for years and we wanted it to be perfect. Something that obviously doesn't matter to you!" Loki finished, squeezing his eyes shut as another headache barreled in.
"Loki, I-" Maya tried again.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go and comfort my bride. And you can forget about being Maid of Honor. In fact, if I were you, I wouldn't show up to the wedding at all." Loki said, before racing out of the room in the direction Olivia ran off to.
Maya slumped down to the floor, feeling like utter shit. Maybe she had gone too far. If being yelled at was bad, being yelled at by Loki of all people was 100 times worse. He did make valid points. Maybe Maya was looking at it too deeply.
"Come on, we should go check on Olivia." Carol said as she, Nat, and Wanda walked off in the same direction, barely giving Maya a glance. She felt a shadow over her and instantly realized how badly she screwed up.
Frigga.
"Your Highness, I-" Maya started.
"Please, Maya Adams. Don't make this worse." Frigga said, about as cooly as she could be.
Shit. Never thought I'd actually piss off the Queen of Asgard. God, I've really done it now. Maya thought to herself, a deep pit forming in her gut.
"Have I just lost my best friends? Oh god, what's Peter gonna think??" She asked aloud. She curled up on the stairs of the wedding dais. She felt a soft hand stroke her hair soothingly. Maya looked up and saw Olivia smiling down at her sympathetically.
"I'm sorry! I'm an idiot, I-" Maya started, but she saw Olivia's hands flash blue.
"You will be." She whispered as she sent a beam of blue light from her hands, encompassing Maya. She nearly shrieked, but she blinked and found herself in an unfamiliar area.
Stone surrounded her, stalagtites stuck to the ceiling and almost completely dark.
"Flashlight, flashlight." She said, pulling a tiny emergency flashlight she bought at the dollar store. She hit the button and looked around.
"Hello?? Is anyone there?" She called, the only response she heard was a sinister laugh in the distance. "Where am I?"
"The caves beneath the palace. Once home to traitors who wanted to seize power from the Royal Family. And now, your prison." Olivia's voice said from behind Maya. She turned around and saw Olivia standing there. Maya charged for her, but Olivia just stepped out of the way calmly.
"Help! Help!" Maya yelled. Olivia chuckled.
"It's no use. No one can hear you. And no one will think to look for you, either. Most people have forgotten that these caves even exist, which is why they're the ideal place to keep those who try to interfere with my plans." Olivia said, smiling.
"Plans? What plans?" Maya asked.
"The plans I have for my Loki, of course." Olivia replied.
"Don't you dare come anywhere near him, you MONSTER!" Maya screamed. "I have no idea what happened to you, but I'm not gonna let you hurt the one you love the most."
"Only way to stop me is to catch me." Olivia taunted, before producing several illisuons of herself around Maya. She began to run through the copies, knowing they were incorporial. Once she got through the ones that had circled her, she spotted one a few feet away.
"Over here!" Olivia called. Maya ran right through her.
"Nope!" Another clone called before vanishing.
"Over here!" A different clone said, before Maya ran right through her, finding the rock wall there was oddly soft.
"Right, okay. One... Two... THREE!" She said, before barrelling right through it.
She saw Olivia sitting on the floor, looking dirty and tired, her lose hair sticking in several different directions. She had on a gown that looked like it came from the 1400s:
(Fun fact, this was the dress I ordered and wore for my school musical)
Olivia looked at Maya, shocked and scared, especially once she noticed the teenager's face looking like she could rip her to pieces
"No! Wait!!" Olivia screamed, holding her arms up in defense before Maya crashed into her. "Don't hurt me, please! Maya, it's me! Please, you have to believe me, I've been imprisoned like you! The Olivia who brought you down here was an imposter."
"Likely story." Maya growled.
"Maya, the cookies, the moth, the Jell-O, the air freshener, the syrup hair gel, the soda shower. Pranks you and Loki have done to each other, in that order." Olivia said. Maua blinked in realization.
This was her friend. Her real friend.
"You remember!" Maya said, hugging Olivia tightly.
"Of course I do. Loki would not stop complaining about the syrup thing for weeks."
They heard a distant laugh far away in the caverns.
"We have to get out of here. We have to stop her." Maya said.
"My magic is weakened by the caves like they're designed to do. It'll take me a little while to get my strength back." Olivia said.
"We'll figure it out as we go. Now let's go!" Maya said.
***
(It gets a little confusing for a bit, so try to use your brains to figure out which is which 😂)
"This day is going to be perfect. The kind of day of which I dreamed since I was small. Everybody will gather round, say I look lovely in my gown. What they don't know is that I have fooled them all."
Olivia paced about her room, wearing her wedding dress and veil.
Pausing in front of the mirror, she pulled a half-bloomed red rose and affixed it to her hair abover her right ear.
"This day was going to be perfect. The kind of day of which I dreamd since I was small. But instead of having cake with all my friends to celebrate, my wedding bells, they may not ring for me at all."
Racing through the dark caves, Maya and Olivia turned every which way, attempting to find the way out. They were designed to be confusing. Olivia's magic was all but useless until she remembered the counterspell to the cave's surpressers. It took little energy to cast the spell, but it was a matter of gaining the necessary strength and remembering it.
She was tired and miserable in general. Of all days, why her long awaited wedding day? And why her of all people?
"I could care less about the dress, I won't partake in any cake. Vows? Well I'll be lying when I say that through any kind of weather, I'll want is to be together. The truth is I don't care for him at all. No, I do not love the groom. In my heart there is no room. But I still want him to be all mine."
Off in her own head, Olivia danced around with the mannequin her dress had been previously held up by. By now, Loki was completely under her influence. She didn't really know where he was at that point, but she didn't care. Everything was going according to plan.
That's all that mattered.
A servant came to inform her that she should make her way to the ceremony space. The wedding would be starting soon.
"Must escape before it's too late, find a way to save the day. Hope I'll be lying when I say I don't fear that I may lose him to one who wants to use him, not care for, love, and cherish him each day. For I also love the groom, all my thoughts he does consume. Oh, my Loki Odinson, I'll be there very soon!"
A long shaft greeted Maya and Olivia at the next turn. A possible escape route. They ran through it, nearly tripping over the edge that spilled into an endless mine shaft. Ahead there was a minecart partially stuck underneath some rocks. Maya was skeptical, but Olivia didn't think twice before weakly trying to free it. This was their only option.
The only think keeping Olivia going was knowing somewhere on the surface, Loki needed her. Maybe he knew it, maybe he didn't, but she had to save him, no matter what.
Maya gestured Olivia to sit in the minecart before she kicked the rocks away. Maya pushed off from the ground and lept inside the minecart before it started rolling away.
After a few nerve-wracking twists and turns, they hit a dead end. The momentum wouldn't let them stop, however. Maya closed her eyes, hoping it would be quick.
She opened them once Olivia used her now returned magic to teleport them to a nearby ledge, ever closer to their escape.
"Finally the moment has arrived for me to be one lucky bride."
Thor was the one to escort Olivia down the aisle. She hid a smirk as she approached Loki, in a sort of daze and eyes blue. He smiled at her, a little lopsided, though no one took any notice.
"Oh, the wedding we won't make, he'll end up marrying a fake, My Loki will be-"
Maya and Olivia could hear the muffled sounds of the ceremony starting. Olivia shivered anxiously before sinking to her knees, spent and utterly hopeless.
How were they supposed to escape in time?
"Mine, all mine."
"We are gathered here today to witness the union..." Olivia could make out what Frigga was saying above them, but stopped listening before choking out a sob.
"We're never gonna save him!" She wailed.
"We will! We just have to find-" Maya started to say before pointing ahead. "There!"
She spotted a distant opening to the surface. Olivia could teleport them there and get them out. Olivia nodded at her before preparing the spell.
She was cut off, however, by three figures emerging from the darkness. Sif, Neyra, and Val, eyes a crystal blue Olivia had seen only one other time.
"You're not going anywhere." They said in unison.
"Livvy..." Maya said skeptically. Olivia stepped in front of Maya before unleashing a beam of green magic (much to Maya's delight that it was the correct color) that hit the three of them in the head, temporarily knocking them out before they one by one came to.
"What happened?" Sif asked, rubbing her head in pain.
"No time to explain. I must teleport you to the palace guards to raise the alarms. Go!" Olivia said, waving her hands again before the three figures disappeared.
"Guess that's where her bridesmaids went..." Maya muttered before she felt a whoosh surround her. She blinked and they were on the surface in a garden not too far from the palace.
"No wonder Frigga told us to never fall down this hole." Olivia realized.
"Come on, we have to get inside." Maya encouraged.

Ceremony Hall
"Olivia, daughter of Iri, and Loki, son of Odin, it is my great pleasure to pronounce you-" Frigga was about to conclude before the doors burst open.
"STOP!!" Maya yelled, earning her complete silence and a distant facepalm from Natasha.
"Urgh, why does she have to be such a pest about this?" Olivia snarled, earning a skeptical look from Frigga. Olivia cleared her throat and started conjuring up tears. "Why does she have to ruin my special day?"
"Because it's not your special day. It's mine!" A new, yet familiar voice came from the end of the hall. Everyone looked back and gasped as Olivia, in a dirty and torn dress, covered in cuts and dirt, and hair an absolute mess, stood tall at the back of the room.
"What?" But how did you escape my bridesmaids?" The fake Olivia asked.
"Cognitive recallibration." Maya said, smirking.
"Hmm, clever. But you're still too late."
"I don't understand. How can there be two of them?" Wanda asked.
"She's a Skrull, an organic shapeshifter. Most Skrulls are good, but a large group of them allied themselves with Thanos to get revenge for Loki's failure at the Battle of New York in exchange for safety. She used some stores of Loki's magic left over from his imprisonment with Thanos and the Mind Stone to make it seem like my real magic with more mind control abilities. The color was off, however." Olivia said, raising her hands in preparation to fight back. The fake Olivia growled before being encompassed by a beam of blue light.
A moment later, a green alien in a high collared purple dress stood where Olivia had once stood.
"Right you are, my lady. And as the queen of Thanos's Skrulls, it is my job to make sure we uphold The Other's promise to make sure Loki feels pain for his loss in 2012." The Skrull hissed with a smile, approaching Olivia.
"You'll never get the chance, Crysallis." Olivia snarled. "I've already sent Sif and the others to raise the alarms and send for the guards."
"Oh, I doubt that. How do you know which of your people are actually your people? I have soldiers that have been planted here for months. Isn't that right, love?" Crysallis asked, turning to the dazed Loki.
"Mmhmm..." He mumbled, nodding. Fear flashed across Olivia's face for a moment. For her people, but mostly for her Loki. She darted for him, but Chrysallis blocked her path.
"Ah ah, wouldn't want to go back to the caves now, do you?" She warned. "Ever since I took your place, Loki grows weaker and weaker and forgets you more and more. He may not be my husband, but he is under my total control."
"Not my Loki!" Olivia gasped, utterly panicked.
"My Skrulls will reveal themselves before we claim control of Asgard through Loki, and then all the Nine Realms!" Chrysallis vowed.
"No, you won't." Frigga interjected, her hands at the ready to perform spells. "You make have taken control of my son, but I won't let that persist. As you have so foolishly revealed yourself, I can protect my people from you!"
Frigga sent a beam of green light towards Chrysallis, who countered it with her own blue magic. Frigga seemed stronger for most of it, but Chrysallis used her free hand and shot a beam right into Frigga's chest, knocking her to the ground, unconscious.
The people started screaming in a panic. Their Queen was incapacitated, the Prince was under a spell, and no one knew if the person standing next to them was an imposter or not.
"Mother!" Olivia shrieked.
"The power of Loki's magic and the Mind Stone was even stronger than I thought. Utilizing it has made me even stronger than Queen Frigga!" Chrysallis yelled triumphantly.
"Olivia, s-stay here. Send the rest of your team to find the Einherjar guard to defeat the queen." Frigga said shakily, attempting to get back to her feet. Olivia nodded at the Avengers, who were already making a beeline for the doors.
"You can run, but you can't hide!" Chrysallis taunted as they ran to the crowded streets of Asgard.
"As far as I can say, quite the interesting first trip to Asgard." Tony snarked.
"Shut it, Tony, we have a job to do." Steve snapped. "Thor, where are the guard barracks?"
"A few turns right from here." Thor replied, leading the way.
"Keep an eye out, anyone around here could be a Skrull." Carol said.
"Is that it?" Peter asked, pointing to a large building.
"Yes, Spider-Boy." Thor said excitedly, approaching the door and pounding on it with his fist. A guard opened the door.
"Captain, there's been an invasion. Gather your squads and-" Thor started.
"We've got it covered, Thor Odinson." The captain said, before opening the door to reveal more guards with weapons ready.
"Fantastic. Please hurry-"
"I said we have it covered." The captain repeated before him and his entire squadron changed into green aliens before their very eyes.
The team was trapped.
"What'd I tell you guys?" Carol sighed.
"Save it, Danvers." Nat replied.

Frigga roused awake to find herself in an enchanted cage just large enough for her to crouch in with a straight back. She couldn't break her way out.
Olivia was on the dais with her wrists clasped together with chains that inhibited her magic.
"You won't get away witb this! The Avengers will-" She started, but then the doors burst open to reveal Skrull soldiers holding her team captive.
"You were saying?" Chrysallis asked sarcastically. She turned to Maya and the team. "You do realize the reception's been cancelled, don't you? It's funny really. Maya here was suspicious of my behavior all along. Too bad the rest of you were too caught up in your 'wedding plans' to realize those suspicions were correct."
"Sorry, Maya. We should have listened to you." Wanda apologized.
"It's not your fault. She fooled everyone." Maya replied.
"Mmm... I did, didn't I?" Chrysallis said as she walked over to a window, overlooking the kingdom, chaos unfolding outside. Maya spotted a key lying on the floor, as if someone tried to take it, but it didn't attach back to the keychain. Taking a chance, Maya snuck over to Olivia and unlocked her chains.
"Quick, go to him while you still can." Maya urged. Olivia nodded and crept over to Loki, staring ahead as if he didn't even see her. She touched his face lightly, caressing his cheek as she stared at him, tears in her eyes. She wrapped her arms around him for a moment, pulling him close. She pulled away slightly so she could lean back in and press a desperate kiss on his lips.
She felt Loki's hand go to the back of her head, running his fingers through her hair. Olivia pulled back and saw Loki's green eyes staring at her, albeit a little dazed. Still, the look in his eyes held so much love for the woman standing in front of him.
"Is the wedding over?" He asked, blinking a few times.
That's when Chrysallis crashed in front of them.
"It's all over." She hissed.
"Cast a spell!" Maya called. Loki raised his hands and tried to aim for Chrysallis. His hands faintly glowed green, but nothing really happened.
"What good would that do? My Skrulls already roam free." Chrysallis taunted.
"I don't have the strength to repel them. She's absorbed a lot of my power." Loki said, defeated.
"My love will give you strength." Olivia said, taking Loki's hands in hers and taking a few deep breaths, shutting her eyes.
"What a lovely, but absolutely ridiculous sentiment." Chrysallis laughed.
Loki shut his eyes with Olivia as they pressed their foreheads together. Olivia's hands started lighting up, Loki's doing the same a moment later. Soon, the green light enveloped them both and started lifting them off the ground. Their breaths remained steady as small smiles touched their lips. Maya also couldn't help but notice that Olivia's physical appearance had cleaned up, now looking clean and healthy.
Were they in better circumstances, Maya would have made some sort of fandom reference. To what, she wasn't 100% sure.
The green energy expanded outward, forcing the Skrulls out of the palace, out of the kingdom, and out of sight in the cosmos that surrounded Asgard.
Slowly floating back down, Loki and Olivia opened their eyes and embraced rightly in a teary hug.
Maya's instinct was to rush over to where Frigga was struggling to stand after her cage was destroyed.
"Don't worry about me, Maya Adams. I'm fine. You have a real wedding to put together." She told Maya warmly.

Maya smiled as she followed Olivia throughout the day, checking off boxes on her list as various tasks were completed.
Wanda's foods? Check. Olivia couldn't get enough of the mini apple fritters. Maya had to drag her out of the kitchen because she kept grabbing for more.
Natasha's dress? Check. The dress was closer to Nat's original design and it fit Olivia perfectly from the moment she put it on.
Bucky and Carson's music? Check. All of Olivia's favorites were on the list of songs to be played. She considered omitting her beloved "Rains of Castamere," (because, you know, wedding) but figured the looks on Clint, Tony, and Pietro's faces were well worth it.
Tony's reception party? Check. The blending of Asgardian and Midgardian cultures in the party was an interesting choice, but it was enjoyable.
Maya rolled up her list, every box having been checked.

Ceremony Hall
The hall had been cleaned up and the guests had reappeared inside. Maya stood at the front with Wanda, Carol, and Nat, taking note of how Loki looked like he was about to cry with happiness.
God, I wish I had my camera. She thought a little glumly.
The wedding march began to play as the doors opened up at the back of the hall. Thor again was the one to lead Olivia to the dais before he sat down in the front row of seats. Loki took Olivia's hand gingerly and they shared a long, loving look.
"Lords and Ladies, we are gathered here today to witness the union of the real Olivia, daughter of Iri, and Loki, son of Odin. The strength of their commitment is clear. The power of their love, undeniable. May we have the rings, please?" Frigga began, gesturing to Peter. He sheepishly presented the rings, Olivia and Loki placing them on each other's fingers. "The Bride and Groom will now recite the vows."
"Father, Smith, Warrior. Mother, Maiden, Crone. Stranger. I am hers/his, and s/he is mine. From this day, until the end of my days." Loki and Olivia recited from memory. Frigga nodded once, a warm smile on her face. Loki leaned in and captured Olivia's lips into a sweet kiss, sealing the marriage.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife." Frigga concluded as the crowd cheered and clapped. Loki pulled away as Olivia led him to the balcony overseeing Asgard, hundreds of their people gathered underneath, cheering for them. Frigga stepped out ofor a moment next to her son.
"I now present to you your future Queen and King of Asgard." She called to yhe crowd, who again stated cheering. Loki and Olivia waved from the balcony as Frigga leaned in next to Carol.
"Miss Danvers, that's your cue." She said, almost playfully. Perking up, Carol launched out of the room, before showering the sky with multicolored blasts of energy, again, wowing the crowd.
"Best. Wedding. Ever!!" She said to herself.

Later that Night, Outside in the Palace Gardens
The newly wedded couple danced calmly throughout most of the night, both trying to hide their exhaustion. Sure, the wedding was wonderful, but it had been a very hard few days.
The reception was lovely, Tony and Valkyrie maybe getting a little too excited about the alcohol involved.
After the party was beginning to wind down, Loki led Olivia over to their team before they retired for the night.
"I don't know how I'll ever thank you." Olivia said warmly.
"Nieces and nephews?" Thor slyly said. Loki and Olivia went beet red as Tony, Pietro, and Clint started laughing their asses off.
"Not for a while." Loki said, staring cooly at his brother. Thor shrugged his shoulders, smiling.
"I'm absolutely exhausted. We must retire for the night, but we will see you in the morning. We may have to stay for a while, but you guys should probably go back. It's not great for mortals to remain on Asgard's time system for very long." Olivia said, inclining her head as Loki took her hand as they both walked back to the palace.
One thing's for sure, no one was gonna forget this wedding anytime soon.

A/N
That probably could have been two chapters, but oh well.
Also, did you notice how the wedding vows are ripped from Game of Thrones?
