Peter Parker One-shot - Ready as I'll ever be
So none of y'all asked for this, but I got the idea and made this because I cannot edit or draw. I am working on the requests I've gotten. It's probably really cringy, but here we gooooo-
"Any moment now, Anthony." Peter looked over his shoulder at Anthony Stark-Rogers who sat chained up to the wall behind him, staring back at his son.
Peter readjusted his web shooters and faced back out of the window of the warehouse. When you're Spider-Man, you get a pretty good idea of what buildings were abandoned and good lair material. "Believe me I know, I've sunk pretty low, but whatever I've done you deserve."
"Peter.." Tony said quietly, reaching forward.
"Quiet!" Peter snapped, turning and slapping the outstretched hand away. "I'm the bad guy that's fine, it's no fault of mine and some justice at last will be served."
"Please listen..." Tony pleaded. What had happened to his son? The son he had been so close to for eighteen years - ever since Peter was a year old. He thought he knew him.
Peter ignored his father and held his mask in his hands. "Now it's time to step up or it's time to back down and there's only one answer for me."
He shot a glare at Anthony before looking back out the window. Something new had taken a hold of Peter. And it didn't plan on letting him go. "And I'll stand up and fight cause I know that I'm right and I'm ready- Ready as I'll ever be."
-
Wade looked around at the Avengers gathered in Avengers tower. None of them looked bright and happy at all. Dang. For once, keeping up moral was up to him.
This wasn't easy for him either. It was his boyfriend up there for crying out loud. But he would bring him back. Bring back the good Peter. But he couldn't do that with a mopey team.
He stood on top of the table and cleared his throat, causing people to look at him. He took off his mask and said: "Now it's time to rise up, or it's time to stand down, and the answer is easy to see."
The group all seemed to share a look before looking back at Wade. No one was used to Wade doing the moral boosting - especially not Wade.
He pulled out his swords and continued. "And I swear by the sword, if you're in, get on board.
Are you ready?"
There was silence before Clint Barton stepped forward. "I'm ready."
Vision and Wanda stood up beside him. "We're ready."
Thor and Bruce stepped forward together. "We're ready."
Wade smiled softly and pulled a picture out of his pocket as he sent everyone to get ready. A picture of him and Peter, sitting on the edge of a bridge together. He would get him back.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
—
A few floors down, Steve and Nat were talking strategy. They had specific places for people to go. It had to go perfectly if they were to get Peter back.
"Are you quite sure we can do this?" Natasha eventually asked, looking up at Steve. She didn't have as much optimism about it.
Steve looked at her and nodded. He put on a small smile. "Together we will guarantee."
—
Peter clenched his fist around his mask.
"I'll make them hear me!" He let out as a yell, startling Tony. This couldn't be his son. The sweet, selfless son he knew.
—
"They can trust me," Wade muttered as he slid on his mask and began walking out of the tower with the Avengers. He needed them to if they were going to save Peter and Anthony.
"I'll save my home and family," Steve promised himself quietly, a few feet away. "I'm ready."
"I'm ready," Wade replied, looking at Steve. Ever since Peter and Wade had started dating, neither Tony or Steve liked him very much. Now, Steve gave him an almost approving nod.
"We're ready!" The rest of the Avengers chimed in as they walked outside.
—
Peter looked out at Avengers tower across the skyline. They would be coming soon. He knew they would. He looked down at the mask and finally put it on. "Ready as I'll ever be."
