I

A lone Warlock went out on a mission to Europa to kills some Vex. He is an exo and quite an old one at that, even before turning into a exo he was at deaths door and now, being couple centuries old and he has been a Guardian for quite some time. Went through many hardships, many deaths and been a witness to many horrors. He had grown tired of all of it, all he ever wanted was a normal life. Living with his, now deceased, but at that time, love of his life on a small patch of land away from all the conflict with their family. But that was cut short but fate, which only wants him to suffer. He finds himself standing at an edge, below him a large pool of Radiolarian fluid and behind him, an army of Vex march towards his direction. By his side flies his Ghost which, over the years they have spent together, has grown to despise. They are constantly at odds, he hates him so much he hadn't even given him a proper name. They are constantly fighting, at each others throats. The Ghost yells at him, commanding him to take out the Vex that march towards their position but he doesn't want to. He grips his hand cannon in frustration and anger, constantly yelled at, told what to do, instead of doing what he wants to. Strangely, being surrounded by Vex he felt like he belonged there, being part Vex as many Exo's are. Looking down it is a large fall and having to constantly die and be revived again and again in that, he won't do. The constant yelling finally sends him over the edge, aiming at his Ghost he takes a good last look at the bastard who made his life a miserable hell. With one pull of the trigger he shoots his Ghost, it explodes in a flurry of Light energy and the pieces of it fall onto the metal surface beneath him.

Exo: Finally, I am normal. Finally I can die once and for all.

Taking a look behind him he stares at the Vex who have stopped marching, they seem to be confused by his actions. It makes him snicker a little. Turning around one last time he steps forward, walking off that edge and down he falls, into the pool that lays beneath him. If anything, his death won't be in vain, at least he will be an inconvenience to someone, he doesn't care to who though. All he cares is that he will die and that is all that matters. As he finally lands into the pool he feels it doing it's work. It is pain, but it is the last time he will ever feel it. The world goes dark and before him flash memories, some warm, some painful, but constantly the image of his love appears. And then silence. Void of any feeling of sense. He feels himself float, is this what it feels like to be a Vex?  However, to his dread, feelings start to come back, his senses slowly come back and find himself surfacing out of the fluid, but not in the place where he had died. This looks like the Black Garden which is odd. As he stands up he figures out that he is much taller than usual. Looking at his body he sees that he had become one of them, a massive Vex by the looks of it. He has no legs, long arms, wings, tendrils of Radiolarian energy sprout out, it reminds him a little of Panoptes the Infinite Mind, but there are slight differences. Mainly that he more resembles a Precursor than anything else, even his head is more, or less, geometrical. Before him, stretching out into the infinity is an army of Vex, but they do not attack him, they bow down to him. They enter a pose that he all to well knows, they are worshiping him. Has he become their god? Why? How?

In a flash, he feels a strange sensation course through his mind, like a million terabytes of data had just been uploaded into him. Before him, like a list and a tool was displayed a screen. Clicking on one thing, a Cyclops turret and lo and behold it had manifested itself. This power, has he acquired an ability to control a Vex submind, a part of the network maybe. He immediately starts to create, to test out the power he had gotten, and quickly, he reshapes the area around him. Making it full of plants and life, simulating wildlife even, birds, frogs, insects. He feels like a god, the Creator, life giver. The Architect. He feels thrilled, excited for the first time in he can't even remember how long.

???: I need a name, yes, of course. But not my old one, I need one more fitting.

After taking a moment to think.

Auctor: Ah yes, Auctor, translated from Latin, The Maker. I shall make a better effort than everyone. I shall build a better future.

And for god knows how long, it can be a day on the outside but inside it must have been a month he had spent all that time learning, crafting a perfect domain for his excellence. He decorated himself with moss and plant life, built up an army of protectors. They are like his children that he never had, his minions. So far, it seems nobody had noticed his presence but slowly but surely he had started to separate himself from the main Vex mind and as a side effect he has been at constant conflict with the others subminds. He was always a fan of art and so, his domain can be called artwork. Each sector that he created is a different emotion, one is despair, happiness, tranquility etc. And at the center of it all, where he is, is a beautiful garden with rivers, lake, forests and of course, a statue of his love. Her name was Murielle, she was a Awoken and he never got over her. She died because the Guardians didn't protect her well enough, those Guardians were his friends. But they were vile, they took her away from him, their jealousy made them do unspeakable things to her and yet, he had to be one of them. Not anymore. Building a statue is the last thing he can do for her, there is more work to be done, but he will try to recreate her. Go back in time and find her and bring her to him, pull her to the current time. Nothing will stop him.

Meanwhile

A fireteam had been sent out to find their friend who hasn't returned or made any contact back. The last known point is that he entered a Vex complex deep inside the glaciers of Europa which was discovered only recently. He was well known for his legacy, but never spoke to anyone. They were the only ones he actually talked to. The team consisted of three humans, Elizabeth a hunter, Harvey, her brother, a Titan and Esme, a Warlock that they had known since forever. As they walk through the complex they find it odd that they haven't come across any Vex. It seems to be completely deserted, not a soul in sight, nor on the radar. However, as they walk in deeper the scenery becomes more disturbing, eerie. There seems to be faces made of stone on the walls looking in different directions, eyes almost as if they are staring into their soul. Esme, while a Guardian is also a psychologist as a hobby and works as a therapist on the side. She finds this more disturbing than others, there are shapes that might look like a formless mess, but that is an indication of inner turmoil. But what concerns her is that, these are emotions and Vex don't have them. She stops in front of one of the faces, it is clearly disfigured but she can recognize it immediately.

Elizabeth: What is it Esme? Do you know who that is?

Esme: Iric.

Harvey: That Iric?

Esme: Yes.

In the corner of her eye she spots a Goblin standing there, waving at them before disappearing. She has a bad feeling about this.

Harvey: That was odd.

Esme: And worrying.

Elizabeth: May I ask why? I mean, it is weird, why is it worrying though.

Esme: Let's press on, I will give you time to figure things out. It is in plain sight and plus, you need to use that brain of yours a little more.

They continue forward, walking past body part statues, but at the same time, vegetation is slowly showing up. The siblings aren't idiots, but they are also rather slow and simple minded. Many would simply gloss over the statues and faces. But to her, this all lokes reeks of a second conductor. As they walk into a large open area they notice a abundance of flowers and grass which is odd, since they are on Europa, one of the coldest places to exist. They walk up to the edge of the platform.

Elizabeth: Guys, look.

She bends down and picks up pieces of a Ghost which is worrying, but what is more worrying is that there is a bullet lodged into it's eye.

Elizabeth: It's his Ghost.

Harvey: Why does it have a bullet in it's eye? Vex don't use bullets.

Esme: He shot it.

Harvey: Why in the world would he do that? Why would anyone destroy their own Ghost?

Esme: You probably didn't notice, but as of late, those two had grown distant. They would often fight, argue and be at each others throats.

Elizabeth: But that would mean that if he died, he is dead.

Esme: He wanted that. He probably fell into the pool be..neath.

As Esme looked bellow, there was no pool of Radiolaria, but in it's stead stood a portal and around it, a large amount of Vex. She looked through the scope of her sniper and saw their friends body, the Vex seem to be worshiping it.

Harvey: What do you see?

Esme: I can't tell, but it seems they are worshiping his body.

Harvey: Huh?

Esme: Don't huh me. I know it is weird but that is what I see.

Elizabeth: Why would they do that?

Suddenly the portal activated and from it a massive Vex hand extended out and with it's finger it picked up the corpse. Pulling it inside before the portal had turned off once more. The fireteam was stunned and couldn't move. They hadn't even noticed that the Vex had turned on and are slowly making their way towards their position.

Harvey: What the fuck was that? Did you see the size of that hand?

Elizabeth: That thing was massive. What size is the Vex bastard that has it? I don't want to even think about it, nor can I imagine.

Esme didn't like this, she has a bad feeling about all of this. Then she noticed the Vex moving up as the other two are asking questions that will have to be answered later.

Esme: Guys, we have to head out, like right now.

A couple hundred Harpies flew up and stared at them, the Vex were teleporting themselves to their position. The fireteam realized that there is no way that they are going to be able to fight them off and started running as quickly as they can. They retraced their steps with the Vex close behind them, there were Precursors, Descendants which is all odd. Something is seriously strange happening and the only people she knows that might know something are Saint, Osiris and MIthrax. They get into their ships and quickly fly away, they watch as the horde marches out and only stares at them. This will be all reported to the Vanguard because this is strange, really strange. Somethings, or someone is behind this, it can't be Lakshmi as she is on Nessus, someone else is at play. They are getting another leader, but what this ones goal is will be uncovered.

Harvey.
