Chapter 5.
VERY LONG SO BE READY/ PLAY SONG WHEN I TELL YOU PLEASE
The ribbons twisted around everyone until we stood in a town. It was a dirt path, old west town, the town I would have seen in my days as a human. I looked around until Alice pointed out a young man with his back to us, when he turned around I was shocked. It was me, the human me. This was a time before I was turned, a time where I felt joy, hope, love. Love. That word bounced in my head, I was dazed for a moment. I saw the younger me walked towards me, it seemed like he would run right into me but instead he went right through.
"They can't see or feel us, these must be memories. We are here only to watch." Sonia was right still something felt off, something felt like it was missing. Something important but what is it? I can't remember, why can't I remember?
We'll now be going into the past so now pov for anyone, there's the past.
In a busy dirt town, everyone was moving around. Buying goods, drinking, gambling. Some could feel it, feel that a war was coming and they were right. It was June 6th, 1862, the Civil War was moving fast. Men dying, brother killing brother. Vampires raising armies to move against their own kind and humans were caught in the middle of it. But this town did not see it, so they went on with their normal lives. In this town arrived a group of soldiers for the Confederate army, among them was an eighteen-year-old Jasper Whitlock. No one knew that he had lied about his real age, he was quickly moving up in the ranks and as of right now he was already a Texan Major. Jasper and the group ride up into the town seeing everyone going about their lives. As they dismounted a small commotion could be heard a few streets down but they choose to ignore it. As they walked down the street and towards the saloon they began to hear shouting. Running from around the corner came a young woman, her pale skin, long legs and white/silver hair flowed in the wind as she ran away. Jasper was stunned at the sight of her, he was amazed and interested in her. But what caught his attention was the bleeding cut on her right arm and the men chasing her. As she passed the group her head turned and their eyes met, at that moment it was love at first sight, at least for Jasper. He tried to stop her but she kept running so he decided to give her some distance. He moved and stopped the men from chasing her any further. They had an argument that was broken up when the sheriff stepped in. The men left and Jasper faced the direction where the white-haired girl had disappeared to. He wanted to find her, speak to her, touch her, he wanted her. But no one seemed to want to speak about her, not even if he asked.
That night while the men were drinking in the saloon, having random women with them Jasper sat away from them, he was lightly sipping on a beer thinking of her. His friends came over and started talking but he couldn't hear their words, the only words he wanted to hear wasn't there and he feared that he'd never get the chance. It wasn't until the voices and music suddenly stopped when someone walked in the saloon. Jasper was just staring at the ground until someone stepped in front of him, someone wearing a black dress. Jasper slowly looked up to be met with long white hair. He just stared at her, she wore a thin veil over her face it slightly covered her lips. Jasper slowly stood up and bowed his head.
"I am Major Jasper Whitlock ma'am."
She looked at him, reaching out her arm lightly touching his hair with her fingertips then his face. Even if it was just her fingertips Jasper wanted to feel more of her touch, he wanted to be touched by her. When she pulled her hand away and turned, Jasper was stunned for a moment until she had reached the door, she looked back then left. Jasper quickly moved to catch her. He stepped onto the road and looked around, searching for her. Finding her at the end of the road leading outside of town, he chased after her. He soon found himself in a forest in the dead of night, he looked for her but could barely see. Just when he thought he would have no choice but to turn back, he began to hear a voice. One voice echoing throughout the forest, they sounded like they were singing.

He followed the voice and he was led to an open field where the moonlight shined down. It was filled with flowers of all kinds but they were all black. Black flowers and only one thing stood out apart from them. Standing in the center of this glowing field was her. She was a beautiful flower blooming in the moonlight. Like a white life blooming against the black death that surrounded her. Jasper remained in the tree line, in the shadows watching her. Listening to her words, feeling only sadness and sorrow. Why did she sing like this? Why was she unhappy and full of sorrow? Could I help her? Many thoughts run through Jasper, he thought of ways to help her but still continued to listen to her words.
Two am, where do I begin
Crying off my face again
The silent sound of loneliness
Wants to follow me to bed
I'm a ghost of a girl
That I want to be most
I'm the shell of a girl
That I used to know well
Dancing slowly in an empty room
Can the lonely take the place of you
I sing myself a quiet lullaby
Let you go and let the lonely in
To take my heart again
Too afraid, to go inside
For the pain of one more loveless night
For the loneliness will stay with me
And hold me till I fall asleep
I'm a ghost of a girl
That I want to be most
I'm the shell of a girl
That I used to know well
Dancing slowly in an empty room
Can the lonely take the place of you
I sing myself a quiet lullaby
Let you go and let the lonely in
To take my heart again
Broken pieces of
A barely breathing story
Where there once was love
Now there's only me
And the lonely
Dancing slowly in an empty room
Can the lonely take the place of you
I sing myself a quiet lullaby
Let you go and let the lonely in
To take my heart again
When she was done, Jasper stepped out and approached her. She turned to face him, they looked at one another until Jasper was right in front of her. He reached out to her and softly touched her face, whipping away the tears that had fallen. Her eyes slowly looked into his, her eyes started to glow in a light shade of white as she softly smiled.
"Aliseia," she finally spoke to him, her voice soft yet Jasper, even being human could feel the power behind it. "My name is Aliseia."
Jasper smiled and softly embraced her, laying his forehead on hers. Closing their eyes, the two let the moonlight shine around them as they embraced each other. Pulling back only enough to look at her lips, Jasper couldn't control himself any longer. He placed his lips on hers, softly. He pulled back thinking he did something wrong when she didn't respond, looking at her he was shocked. Shocked to see her eyes were closed like she was waiting for more. Jasper smiled and kissed her again, this time slightly rougher. They kissed and shared him that moment of love and joy, even though they are both human, they knew. They were meant to be together.
Bouncing to where we are with Jasper's POV now, enjoy.
I watched, as did my family and Aliseia's family. We all watched as how Aliseia and I first met, the first time when we were both humans. We were mates before all of this, mates as humans. I watched as her smile was true and real. She was happy to have me but why don't I remember her? Why can't I remember her smile? What happened to us?
In an instant the area around us changed, we now stood in front of a small house with white roses in the front garden. We watched for a few seconds until the door opened and I walked out with a sad look on my face, I watched him turn around and face Aliseia, who looked like she was about to cry.
"Do you have to go, can you not just stay here?" She asked him, he looked down.
"They need me, my love. They need help to save people, women, and children. If I let other people die because I wasn't there, I'd never forgiven myself." He looked down pulling her into a tight hug. "I swear to you Aliseia, no matter what. I will always come back to you. Nothing will ever keep me away." His words reflected the deep feelings I have for Aliseia. My word was true, I came back to her. Maybe without knowing but I'm back with her. What changed? Something seems to more human about her than now. The Aliseia I knew today had power but the one from the past felt like a pure human.
"But what if you get hurt and no one comes to help you, how will you come back to me then?" Her words almost scared me. The human me only smiled, kissing her lips. He put something around her neck.
"Because not only will I come back for you but for this as well." Around her neck laid a chain with a single ring attached to it. "This is my grandmother's ring, she gave it to me. Saying only the one I love can wear it. When I get back I'll do this a lot better." He spoke getting down on one knee. Everyone gasped when they saw this, I was even more shocked. I had... "Aliseia, will you do me the greatest honor of becoming my wife. When I return, I will marry you no matter what. What do you say, will you marry me?" She didn't even hesitate.
"Yes, of course, I will." They kissed each other deeply.
Now we were jumping again, we were in some field, I know this place. I turn to see Maria and her followers, it was the night I was turned. Once more it changed, now we were in front of the house again, this time one of my old mates was there. He was speaking to Aliseia, she shook her head covering her mouth with her hand, falling to her knees crying. She's in pain because of me, I caused her pain. I hurt my one true love.
