8: To Kill A God
"Thank you for finding her." Kai Chisaki nodded to Ms. Yamashi as she allowed him to pass. He strode right up to you and knelt down to about eye level in front of the couch. "You're injured. Is your quirk malfunctioning?"
You rolled your eyes. "Hhhh, yeah.."

Your eyes widened, finding yourself trapped in a staring match with the barrel of a pistol, one only a few inches away and pointed directly at the gap between your eyes.
"Good."
. . .
"Young Chisaki, tell me what is going on, now!! You don't just hold a gun to your fiance like that!!" Ms. Yamashi shouted from beside the front door, too scared herself to dare move. You were in the same boat, worried that if you so much as flinched, you'd be dead.
"Somebody quiet her before she draws unwanted attention." Kai ordered. Three robed men in plague doctor inspired masks flooded in, the one in the white robe taking the elder woman aside, tying her to a chair, and gagging her. You watched in horror. That was Hari, right? Within a moment, the same people you shared a house with became your enemies. Guess... Guess that was pretty normal for you though, wasn't it?
Your eyes snapped down as a sudden sting rippled throughout your body starting at the arm. Kai's hand was there, exposed and touching your skin. You gasped, holding your breath as pain shot through you, expecting death. Instead, droplets of pure alcohol sweated out from your skin. And you knew it was that thanks to the foul odor.
"There... At least you'll be sober for this." He huffed, staring down at his own hand with agitation as red dots sprouted on his skin. He grabbed a clean wipe from his jacket pocket, cleaned his hand off, and applied the glove once more. He stood again, towering over you like he once did while he made his demands. "Do exactly as I say and you won't have to die tonight." You shivered and nodded your head. You'd only felt this powerless before once. It was scary.
You were sat down in a dining chair in front of a plain gray wall in the woman's dining section, the table shoved aside, a video camera set up on a stand in front of you. Your face hung low, uncharacteristically passive through all of this.
"You've called him already, correct?" Kai stood beside you, that gun still pointed at your head.
"Yes sir! Everything is set up!"
"Sweet. Until he responds, we should probably get whatever we can out of Nemoto's quirk."
"Wat, Shnn 'ss hrr!?" Ms. Yamashi gasped. The cloaked one hiding completely in black tipped his black masked head. He stepped forward when asked, though, and stood before you asking a series of basic questions like where your father's main base was, how many quirks he had and what they were, as well as any exploitable physical weaknesses. You answered, against your will, to the best of your ability despite knowing so little about these truths yourself. While that was going on, you realized something rather tragic. The same man interrogating you was Yamashi's son, wasn't he?
After a few minutes, your father picked up the phone, only his voice heard through Kai's phone, which the young man held before him on speaker in his other hand. ""Hello, who is this?"" The audio quality was pretty bad, not gunna lie.
"Can you see the video feed?"
""...Yes. I assume you want something from me?""
"First of all, if you try to teleport (Y/n) to you, she dies. If you try to teleport here and grab her, she dies. If you so much as move without my permission, she dies."
""Understood."" Your father's voice remained calm and collected. Though it could be taken as rude, his calm tone actually helped you somewhat. What comforted you even more was your father using that tracker quirk, which in turn made it feel like he was right here with you in this. ""..What are your demands? I can imagine it must be important for you to pull out of such a useful agreement.""
"Unlike Pops, I didn't agree to the marriage to help (Y/n) or anything." The brunette uttered, which somehow stung a little despite you expecting words like that from him. "The moment I learned about her quirk, I knew we were going to kill each other someday. That then extends to you as well. You two are like the gods of everything I am trying to destroy, so it's only natural that I would come after you... My demands are for you to take the drug that I provide, relinquish your quirk, and live the rest of your life without any powers at all. You can do whatever-else you want from there. I honestly don't care about that... But the price for her life will be your quirk."
""Hmm.... I see. You must have perfected that quirk erasing drug then? In order to use it on my daughter and I.""
"...Yes. It's actually been in testing for several months now." You never heard about any of this!!
""I must admit I admire your keen intellect~ The two of us aren't the easiest to trap, after all~ If you drop your weapon now, I wouldn't mind you one day becoming my son in law and running the underworld as my second in command~""
"Sweetening the deal won't make me turn back." His gun moved in, pressing firmly against your skull. Your eyes broadened, terror stricken, you stared into the camera. "And trust me. As high and mighty as you two like to act, you're nothing more than piles of trash overrun with disease..." His voice rasped. "And even if you two were all that special, it isn't hard to kill a god... You just need to know how they tick."
...
Your whole body shivered uncontrollably, forcing words out of your mouth even when the cold metal pressed to your head. "..What did I ever do to you, Kai...? I did nothing but exist!"
"You've been a thorn in my side for three years now-"
"-I WAS THIRTEEN when I first met you! And even THEN I was willing to do everything but kill! I've never said no to your orders, or done anything traitorous against the Shie Hassaikai! It's literally just my quirk you want me dead for! Nothing else!!" You didn't look Kai in the eyes, shouting with all of this pain at the ground instead. The man holding the gun to your head was still, through the weapon feeling your every tremble. "...You never gave me a chance to let me prove myself to you... You never even did anything to prove yourself to ME either!.. But I still accepted you. I trusted you.... And I never cared about your quirk. I was perfectly fine with stealing others'.." It was so still in that room. You could hear everybody but Kai breathing.
Kai cleared his throat, pulling the gun just a little further away from your head. "...You're right... I have no reason to kill you other than the quirk you were born with. A quirk that I might add, you never chose... Just like how I never chose mine... But, here we are, at odds because of them.. So just accept that nothing in life's fair already.... Sometimes.. kids suffer for no reason at all...." Turning his head to the camera, "So what'll it be, old man..? Your quirk...or her life?" Your face dipped again, tears leaking from it and falling into your lap.
"Just shoot me already..." In came the half sobs. "One of his quirks lets him live as long as he has...so you're basically asking for him to give up his life in place of mine...which I know he would never do."
""(Y/n)...?"" To hear you being so genuinely torn to shreds by this, so certain about your father's resolve...made his heart absolutely ache. ""I'm coming over there. I accept."" Why was he doing this? Even HE didn't know why he'd just agree to something like that!
Your head shot up, face full of confusion. "Wait what?" You breathed. All this time. All these years. You thought his words of love toward you was just fluff. Wasn't it?! Weren't those just words used to manipulate you??
How much of what he said was even true? You always wondered that. Was this your answer? Finally??
Kai nodded in agreement, allowing your dad to finally appear on his own through a thick, sludgy portal of sorts before you. He stepped back, however, creating even more distance between himself and the hostage. Kai's other two members stepped in. Hari struck your dad with his quirk, making the large one's body incredibly slow. All For One got down on his knees and stared ahead at you with a sad sort of smile. You stared, still so bewildered... WHY???
"Prepare the drug."
"Dad....why??"
"...To be honest," chuckling, "..I couldn't tell you... Or..is it that I don't even know where to begin?" The toothy grin he shown after was so genuine. So loving and bright. You had never seen one like it on him before. One so full of pride and joy. For you. Not your quirk, but for you.
His head was full of memories, both the good and the bad... So it was strange, then, that throughout all of his life, all the important things he had to remember..that most of those memories somehow had to do with you.
Letting himself die would be the end to his life long goal, yes. But letting you die would be the end of his legacy. Something he decided was far more important than whatever he had planned.
...It was kind of ironic, even. On the way to creating the perfect being to ensure his mission was a success, you became more important than the mission itself... He... didn't really know how to feel about that yet. A part of him was excited that he got to try something new: ...love. Something he thought, all his life, was impossible for him.
But then again, how could he not love his most perfect creation?
Hari opened up a small box with a self injecting IV inside. The white robed one picked it up and carried it delicately to the villain. All For One remained calm, telling himself this was just an average trip to the doctor's office.
Problems arose when, as Hari brought the device to the great villain's skin, a small streamer of black and red jumped out to catch it. The robed one sighed and tried again, the villain's skin hardening to stop the needle, and again, the impact reflected, making the small device jump against his skin.. "I'm sorry." Smiling fakely, "I'm not doing any of that. My quirk is just acting on instinct."
"Turn it off, then."
"I really am-"
"-I SAID TURN IT OFF!" Kai shoved the gun against your head. His finger nearly slipped and pulled the trigger. Almost instinctually, he dropped the weapon at once to prevent that. It clanked and slid on the tile, for a moment the apple of everyone's eye. Kai bent down and picked it up again. But as he stood up and looked down at you, your eyes jumping to meet his..he just couldn't bring himself to aim it at you again.
What would he do if he really killed you anyway? Now that he thought about it, he'd probably regret it immediately, have nightmares about it for months to come, and beat himself up about it all his life.
You were, after all, one of the only people who never treated anyone differently depending on whether they had a quirk or not. As proven by Izuku, as well as many more cases. It was a trait he so often looked past, but now realized just how crucial it was to his every day life of actually feeling human.
It was no secret that Kai often distanced himself from all of humanity, especially in an emotional sense. So how then did he feel so human while he was around you?
Bizarrely enough, it was you, the living symbol of everything he despised, which never saw him differently than any other human. There was only one other he could say the same thing about: Pops. And for that alone, Kai suddenly realized how much he respected you. No, he couldn't bring himself to kill you even if he wanted to. You, just like Pops, were like family to him now.
Ignoring how he truly felt just wasn't working anymore. Kai dropped the gun and kicked it under the table.
"This whole thing is pointless." He said, staring down at the ground. Everyone else was still. Again wondering why. "If you don't mind, All For One.." arms limp at his sides, "..I would like to resume our agreement as before.... Let's just forget any of this ever happened."
"...That would be...difficult."
"I know. And I'm not saying I don't want anything to change either.. You need to move out of my home and leave us all alone unless your services are needed. I also need confirmation that you will never steal my quirk. As for you, (Y/n).."
"Hm?" You glanced up again. You were so numb at this point it was crazy.
"Expect me to find more jobs for you. Chances to actually prove yourself. In return, I'll promise you to never try anything like this again."
You shook your head up and down. "Sounds good." Honestly, you were so stinking tired. Everything still hurt and you'd just spend the past half hour worried everyone you had some inkling of care for was about to die! "Can I have my quirk back?"
Kai's breaths hitched. But, he realized you'd kinda be needing your quirk to prove your loyalty to him, after all. He'd prefer it if you didn't have your quirk, but.. "...I suppose." Your dad was then allowed to approach you and reverse your physicality until your body, quirk and everything was all good as new.
You held your hands before you and flexed them, satisfaction watching over you upon seeing those holes in your palms were back. You stood up, not quite sure of what to do. But one thing was sure.
You actually had people you could trust here. People you could trust with your very life, even. And that thought alone made you pretty excited.
"Sorry for this!" You said while wrapping the bird masked villain in a hug. He was stuck somewhere between paralyzation and teleporting himself into the void. Your grip on him lasted a few more seconds before letting him go. Next, you sprang into the arms of your father, who was much more accepting of the affection you gave. He spun with you in his arms and kissed the top of your head.
"Should I even ask why you are up so late?" The great villain chuckled. You laughed along.
"Nnno, probably not." He squeezed you tighter and kissed your hair a second time. Shin Nemoto in the back picked up the old family portrait next to the couch and stared at it for a moment. Catching the gaze of his newly released mother from across the room, the cloaked one bowed stiffly, earning him nothing more than a confused eye raise in return.
All For One summoned Kurogiri and everyone stepped through the portal, again arriving back at the Shie Hassaikai, or as you liked to call it: home.
---------------
---------------
Only your eyes and nose poked out from under the blankets to glare at the dark shadow standing lonesome in the corner. "Kurogiri..." You growled at it. The Nomu opened his eyes and stared at you narrowly.
"What?"
"What are you doing in my room?"
The dark shape crossed his arms. "My master ordered me to watch over you while you sleep and alert him if you have any bad dreams."
"Why?"
"I don't know. Probably so that he can help you?" You were about to gripe something back at him about this being absolute nonsense..until you remembered the past few nightmares you had. Ever since your father arrived here, those nightmares would suddenly cut out. Was he...helping you sleep better? How long had he been doing that?!!
"Ugh, fine then. Just don't stare at me or anything." You rolled onto your side, hiding your head under the blankets.
"It was never my intention to do so." The Nomu clarified, closing his bright yellow eyes once more. You kind of liked knowing there was something about your nightmares that could be helped. That you weren't fighting against this life all alone.
----------
The bell rang that next fine Monday afternoon, signaling the end to another long school day. Everyone leaving was mumbling about the coming Sports Festival. You walked quietly, stopped by the teacher's voice.
"A word with you, (Y/n)." He sounded awfully serious. A few in the class turned their heads and snickered at the prospect of you possibly getting such bad grades that you needed to be pulled aside. Your grades were decent, however, so you knew this had to be about something else. Something possibly even more concerning.
After everyone left, it was just you and the teacher. You, Aizawa, and Tenko sticking his head through the door.
"Shimura.." Aizawa growled at the peeper.
"Sorry-sorry!" He dipped away. You strode over to the door and peeked around, ensuring he was no longer there.
Walking back to the teacher's desk, "There something you need?"
The man straightened a stack of papers on his desk, huffy about having to grade all of them. "A new group is forming among the heroes to take down your dad. I was wondering if you'd be willing to help us by passing along some information."
You set your heavy bag of school books down on the front desk closest to the teacher's. "Uhh, sure."
"You're still fine with us taking him out, right?" Face aimed down, the man's eyes glanced up to stare ahead at you. Your body stiffened for a moment, needing a second to think about it.
"...Yeah. Of course. He's a villain, after all. He's killed many and hurt even more. It's what he deserves. But.." scratching at the nearest school desk, "...just don't kill him, alright? I- I mean-- ...hhfffff.... I get that you might have to kill him, especially if it's the only way to save others. Just.. don't.. like.. kill him if you don't need to at least."
...
Aizawa's tight hold on the stack of papers loosened a little. His eyes dropped to the papers again. "...Right.. We'll do our best."
"What information do you need, by the way? Do you need my help catching him? I can-"
"-No, you legally can't get involved. Not yet at least." You leaned against the classmate's desk and crossed your arms loosely.
"I've done plenty of heroic things already."
"Yeah and most of them turned you into a thief and a murderer." He glared again at you. "Remember why you are here. Why it's so important for you to learn to be a hero. What you like to call 'heroics' is nothing but flailing around and occasionally hitting the right targets. You're no real help; in fact you're a hindrance to the professionals." Ouch.. "...So as far as help goes, all we need from you are a list of his plans, assets, allies, and locations commonly visited. You are not to get involved in the siege itself, you hear?" Pointing a finger at you. Your back straightened.
Nodding, "Understood."
Eyes narrowing, "But do you really?" He had you there. You still planned to jump in and help somehow. "..I thought so." The man sighed. "Since your father isn't active right now, he isn't as much of a priority to the higher ups, meaning it could be months before a plan is formulated and approved. If you focus hard on your studies and show some major improvement.. I might let you tag along." You smiled at the guy. "But even then, you still won't be allowed to fight anyone directly. Can't do that without a license... If you should fail to improve in that time, however, I'm afraid I won't even be allowed to tell you about the plan until it is already through-with."
"Mm," you hummed in understanding. Then, your head perked up. "Oh yeah! Since we're finally alone," You strode to the teacher's desk and reached your right hand across it. "I'll be taking my mother's quirk back." Aizawa's eyes widened as your hand came in to grab his upper face. His hair flew up over his head, canceling out your quirk. Your brows furrowed. "...Huh?"
"...Take your hand off, now." He spoke with such authority. Authority he simply didn't have.
You chuckled, clicking your tongue in amusement. "Why?.. It's my quirk. I just let you borrow it."
"Hhhhh..." Slowly, the man's hair fell over his shoulders again. "..See for yourself."
You bit your lower lip and activated your quirk again.
-----
Elsewhere, while walking home with Iguchi, Tenko froze involuntarily, a terrible shiver crawling up his spine.
-----
You were in another world. Dark. Black and gray scraped past, forming a tunnel of sorts, but there was no wind pushing it. The ground was solid yet invisible. Or, it was just a pure black. Before you stood a small army of figures, all of whom recognizable.
You waved to them all with a smile. "Hi, All Might!" Waving to the tallest. He smiled and waved back. But even through his smile, his brows were furrowed slightly. Everyone else there was passive to hostile. You gasped again. "Uncle Yoichi!!" The white haired one offered a passive, halfhearted wave. They stood as one, forming some kind of wall between you and...something.
"Wait." You gulped, face paling as you realized what all this meant. A lump formed in your throat, choking out any words trying to squeeze their way through. "Please don't tell me..." You barely managed. "...Where's my mom?"
-----
Tenko clutched the cloth of his shirt just outside his heart, huffing, face going pale for no real reason. Iguchi turned back with worry. "Woah, what's wrong?!" The other leaned in, placing a reassuring hand on the dark haired one's shoulder. "I-is it a heart attack?!"
"No!" The word hissed through his teeth. But, Tenko couldn't quite explain it. He didn't even know what was wrong.
Only that his quirk was in jeopardy.
-----
"M..mom?" Stepping forward felt like marching through mud, and it only got harder the farther forward you crawled. "M..m-mom! Mamma!!" You stood on your toes and tilted your chin back to peer over the collective. In the very back was a head of red hair. That excited you. A grin grew. One strained and saddened. "MOM! You're here!!" But she didn't respond. She didn't even move. You just wanted to see her face again. That was all you wanted. But every step you took was harder and harder to complete. The sternness in the eyes of all the people standing in front of her was off-putting. "..Mom?" Tears came to your eyes. "MOM! I- I'M SORRY! MOM, PLEASE! CHLOE, I NEVER MEANT TO HURT YOU, PLEASE--"
Quietly, Yoichi lifted his hand to you, signaling for you to stop. He fixed you with a very stern, yet saddened stare. "...I'm sorry, (Y/n)." Your breath hitched, those warm tears now falling, streaming down your face.
You were such an idiot. Of course your mother's quirk was part of One For All now.
It stung...but you had to let her go.
-----
You snapped out of it, back into reality. Your hand released Aizawa's forehead. He gasped once freed, reaching up and rubbing at his scalp. "See what I mean?" The man huffed. Your eyes were wide, horror stricken. The tears were real, already sticking to your cheeks. You fell back a step, grabbed your bag, and turned to the door. "(Y/n)..?"
"I..have to go."
"Wait, (Y/n)!" He couldn't have something like that end so abruptly. But you slammed the door before he could even question.
Were you a threat or not?
You didn't know what to think. Having her quirk with you had pulled you through some of the darkest patches of your life. Warded off the nightmares which now plagued you. When you had that quirk, she still felt close. Even if it was like hugging a dead corpse, it was the best you had. You only willed to part with it once because you knew Aizawa would give it back. You thought you knew it wouldn't be gone for long. So the thought of leaving her quirk for good... It scared you.
You didn't know what to do about it.
...Maybe it would be better to instead focus your attention on capturing your father.
----------
There was a problem you had. One that you never really noticed until recently.
You were failing to build any muscle. Even with all of this fighting, exercising, training, and eating, best you could do was form a natural trim fit. This did not increase your strength. Nor did it look all that impressive.
After you did some thinking, you found out why. Though your Immortality quirk was great, its healing factor was actually ruining any chance of forming muscle. Because the building of muscle is essentially just tearing it apart over and over so that it'll adapt, growing tougher and larger. However, Immortality made that process impossible for you. It would just fix those broken muscles before they had a chance to regrow. Meaning, you were stuck.
Hhhhhhh...
Guess it was time to turn to a quirk for help.
. . .
There was a family YouTube channel which had no more than two-hundred subscribers. They were a cute trio. The parents made videos together teaching their eleven year old son how to bake. They were a fairly quiet, private bunch, so it took a lot of digging around social media to find a name.
The Sato family. The little boy, Rikido Sato, was exactly the kid you had in mind.
Instead of getting fat for eating so much sugar...he got stronger. More muscular. And if you ever wanted to have a fair fight against people like Iceman, in touch situations like when Kai took you hostage only a few days ago, you needed physical strength... Sorry, kid.
From a name, it didn't take long to track the family down. You'd been doing stuff like this since the age of four, so by now you already had plenty of pre programmed systems as well as a couple alibis to help you out with this kind of stuff. By the time Friday came around, you had a good tracking system in play.
But this snatch was going to be a little tricky. You didn't want to make the same mistakes of your youth. You couldn't have a repeat of the time you borrowed Bakugo's quirk. It took a whole day of intensive planning to figure things out, but you had something by the end.
Shopping.
----------
"You sure you don'g need a crutch today?" In his living room, you knelt down to be eye level with the little boy, petting his green hair playfully as he grinned.
"Nnnope!" The boy chirped. "My boot is good enough, but even if I get tired you can still carry me!"
You chuckled. "That I can... Kurogiri."
"Just outside the mall, right?" The nearby Nomu tilted his head slightly.
"In the parking garage if you can."
Kurogiri nodded and opened up a portal. You led Izuku through it, appearing in a dimly lit part of the parking garage. The Nomu hung out around there while you took Izuku outside into a bright world of green and gray. A small garden was growing just outside the mall, many people spilling in and out of it.
"So how long until your friends show up?!" Sitting on a short containment wall which held all the dirt and plants, Izuku kicked his legs. A hand over your eyes supplied shade the large sunglasses simply could not as you scanned the main entrance.
"I dunno... I told them to come to this entrance-- oh! I see them!" You waved. Far off, pushing through the people, Tenko and Iguchi made their appearances. When they finally arrived, you slapped both on the shoulder and ruffled Tenko's hair lovingly. "Wow, it's been so long!" You laughed.
Tenko joined in. "I know right?! Definitely didn't see you just an hour ago at school!"
"Pff! Definitely not!"
Spinner pointed out the kid sitting there first. "Ay, is that the squirt you said was joining?" Izuku waved at them excitedly, feet kicking faster. His whole face was alit, so excited to meet even more UA students!
"Hi I'm Izuku are you from UA too are you training to be heroes!!?" Tenko smiled big and crouched before the kid.
"You bet!! Do you like heroes?"
"YES!" The boy bounced, prompting a laugh out of the dark haired one. "(Y/n)'s teaching me to become one too! I'm going to become a hero just like All Might someday!" Tenko felt his heart flutter hearing that. Witnessing excitement that reminded him so much of his own, especially his younger self. It was so adorable. No wonder his friend was drawn to the kid!
"Well alright then!" Tenko extended his hands, helping the boy down off the wall. "Oh! Do you want to check out the toy section?! I know where some of the merch is half off today!" Izuku was too excited to answer verbally. He Took Tenko's hand and ran off with the teen as fast as his booted leg could go. You hung back with a far more stoic Iguchi. The pink haired one in question elbowed you once the other two were out of hearing range.
"Does Tenko know anything about your fighting gig?"
Your head shook. "No, only you really."
"And how did your night go after the, uhh, drinking thing anyways?"
You rolled your eyes, shoving your hands into your pockets. "Fffffff," blowing some hair out of your face, "oh you know.. got drunk, bar fight, lost my quirk for a little bit, taken hostage, almost died. The usual I guess."
Iguchi chuckled dryly, side eyeing you with clear amusement. "D###, and I thought I lived a dangerous double life."
"What can I say? I'm an adrenaline junkie."
"Got that right.." You picked up pace to keep with the two hero crazy kids losing themselves in the crowd, leaving Iguchi to have his epiphany alone. "Wait did you just say you lost your quirk?!"
. . .
The following hour was spent wandering around the mall while you occasionally sent texts to the Sato couple, posing as the other person since the dad was still at work at the moment. You eventually got them to agree to being their son to the mall after he was back from work. The same mall you were currently in. By the end of the hour, Izuku was getting tired of lugging his boot around and hungry as well. So you suggested everyone go to the food market and grab a bite. You bought everyone's things as well since Izuku was only a kid and, like always, Tenko was low on cash. Iguchi was too stubborn and self reliant to let you buy him anything. He was always that way. Like he was constantly trying to prove to everyone that he was indeed not useless. Oh well. You let the guy have his way.
The Satos finally arrived as everyone was finishing up their early dinner here at the mall. You guessed they'd be headed to where you previously hinted they should go over text: the baking section, of course.
Standing yourself up from the table, "Gotta go to the bathroom real quick." Turning and waving back at them, "brb." The others waved you farewell.
Technically you did go to the bathroom. But it was only to sit down and slip a little thing between your big toe and the rest to hold carefully onto. Walking a little weirdly with something in your shoe, you loosened your jacket and the hair-tye, adding a little purposeful sway to your step as well, therefore not drawing attention to your foot. You checked the tracker one of your hacker friends had set up for you and ensured you intercepted them in a bustling place.
Colors flying all around. Loads of sounds, smells, people to bump into. No doubt a hard place to keep your focus. And you were banking on that.
Time to shine, you "accidentally" stepped on the young Sato's foot while passing, squeezing your big toe against the others to press a button the device. The young boy yelped in pain as a needle pricked his foot, having shot through the thin sole of your shoe to do so. The needle injected a very small dosage of a couple different vaccines. It would be impossible to trace while also dealing the kid a couple sick days. So there go his weekend plans I guess. You released the needle just as quickly, pretending to panic as you turned to the poor boy. Your sunglasses were still on. Good. You knelt down in front of the child in a hurry.
"Ohhh my gosh! I am so sorry!" You grabbed young Sato's foot, pretending to inspect it, while in reality you were stealing his quirk as swiftly as possible. You hoped the streaks of light didn't give it away. "Is it hurt? Did I break anything??" Stall stall stall! You laughed a little as if recalling something in your mind, looking up and into the boy's eyes. "I tend to step on people a lot. I'm so sorry about this, though!" The apology was genuine. You really did feel a little bad for this. After all, it is probably his dream to become a hero too... Hopefully, he could find happiness in other things. The boy stared at you with teary eyes, dazed and confused about what the heck was happening.
The mother bent down beside her boy and rubbed his shoulders. "Are you okay, sweetie?"
Sato sniffed, nodding stiffly. "Mhm." She kissed his cheek and turned her attention to you.
"Thanks for the concern, but my boy is a tough one!" Smiling. "I'm sure you didn't hurt him too bad."
You rubbed the kid's foot just a little to kill the lingering pain, then stood, noticably slouching so she couldn't as easily take note of how tall you were. "You're right. I bet your boy is very strong. Just wanted to make sure. Sorry again!" You waved politely as you left, vanishing into the sea of people while carrying a smirk. Before any of this happened, you'd personally fed a little more into the little pre-existing online rumor about a sickness that can remove someone's quirk. Hopefully, when the truth was found out, the Satos would be led into believing that was the case. If not.. oh well. You tried at least. You even got to have a nice time with friends along the way!
New quirk: Sugar Rush
. . .
In the distance, a story above you, Tenko watched everything from afar.
He didn't know if he liked what he saw... Did you just steal someone's quirk...?
From a kid?
