Thirty - The Prince She Ran After

When Aemond appeared once more in the Red Keep without a wife, Alicent was very confused. Yet one thing she had very clear in her mind. Aemond had done something to that girl, because who wouldn't want to be a princess? If she was not here, it was for good reason.

Aemond had sulked for days, brooding in his chambers alone. Any person who tried to visit him would run out of his personal quarters steadfastly after just one look from him. If he was ill tempered before, losing her only made him worse.

The new servant assigned to him let the Queen know how little he had been eating. And the new servant would barely visit his quarters because she was scared of being screamed at by him. Just the other day she had ran off crying after she accidentally made his bed in a way that was not to his liking.

He did not care to eat or sleep. Food was supposed to keep people alive, and he did not wish to be alive if Elyana was away from him and in the North. Aemond did not want to live if she was not near him, because he knew it would be a cruel existance.

He felt like he was going crazy. All he could do was stare at the fire and imagine she was here with him. Stare at the fire and remember her touch, her face, her voice, her hair, and her scent.

Every day he daydreamed of going back there and snatching her from her new home and bringing her back to his side where she truly belonged. Would he truly make her angry if he did that? Would she hate him if she just brought her back to King's Landing by force.

Every minute of the day he wondered what she was doing, or what she was thinking. The uncertainty of it all was eating away at his mind. And she haunted all of the 'what ifs' that dallied in his thoughts all day, every day.

Did she miss him? Did she still love him? Did she think of him? Was the pregnancy easy on her? Had another man already caught her attention? The thought of her with another man made him want to die.

On the eighth day of Elyana living in the North, his mother finally came to him. Alicent did not care to knock on the chamber doors, and she did not care when he glared at her fiercely for the intrusion. She knew her son well, and she knew that something wicked must have driven that girl away. She knew it well.

"Why did Elyana not come back with you, Aemond?" His mother asked without a greeting. He looked over at her and then back at the fire he had been watching burn for hours.

Disappointment. He knew his mother well, and he could read her face like he could read a scroll. He gritted his teeth and took a deep shallowy breath.

He knew she would be disappointed. It was his biggest fear. "Because..." He said solemnly and slowly, and he dared not tell the truth of the matter. The truth of all he had done.

"She will be back soon. Elyana just needs her time to adjust and come to terms with her new reality." He answered, trying to sound as genuine as possible. He was lying of course. He was not sure she would ever come back to him, though the sheer thought of her not coming back haunted his existance.

If she didn't come back, he would surely go mad.

"Aemond... in a court full of vipers and liars; I have learned to identify a lie rather quickly. Pray tell me what has happened with her. What did you do to her?" Alicent asked as she approached the seat her son was in.

"I did nothing to Elyana, mother. I love her. I would do nothing to hurt her." He spoke the lie as if it was the most veridict statement he had ever spoken in his life.

Alicent stared at the back of his head angrily. Aemond barely lied to her, maybe once or twice when he was a child. But lately he grew so cold and distant that she was fearful he would turn into Aegon.

Aemond could feel his nother staring at the back of his head with those judgeful eyes of hers, and he dared not turn to face her. He was afraid that his pained face would give him up and let her know the truth of this all. Of how monstrous he could be just to get his way.

Footsteps and then the door to his chambers slammed closed. He was left alone with his thoughts once more.

Aemond stood from his seat and moved to his bedchamber then to his wardrobe. He changed his white linen shirt and loose fitting pants to a more adequate outfit and then left his chambers solemnly.

He walked all the way down to the training courtyard and watched as the knights and guards trained and sparred lazily. His gaze landed on Erryk Cargyll who was laughing and jesting with his twat brother and Aemond could feel a snarl crawling upon his lips.

Aemond hated Erryk so much that he wanted to kill him over and over again. He dreamed of slashing his throat open and watching him bleed to death. "Prince Aemond, finally you've come to train." Criston snapped him out of his murderous thoughts.

Aemond only hummed and grabbed his sword.

He trained with Criston as he usually did, though the way that he moved and swung his sword was with much more force than usual. Aemond was angry and it could be seen from a distance away.

He trained for hours on end, his mind trying to keep itself from thinking of her. All he wanted was her back in his arms, her back in his chambers being stubborn, her smiling like she did, or her cursing him out. All he wanted was her under him, pleading for him to take her mercilessly like he did.

When he finished his training, he looked to the balcony. His eye landed on that servant who was Elyana's friend, the one who told him she was with child.

Why was she staring at him train? Did the castle servants not have any duties to attend? Stupid fucking girl. The girl smiled at Aemond, to which he responded with a scowl. What was this wench getting at?

Aemond made it a note in his mind to tell his mother that the servants were wasting time watching the knights train and shooting him smiles and then he left for his chambers.

Aemond walked with purpose, until he was interrupted by the voice of Elyana's mother. "Prince Aemond!" He mentally cursed when he saw Lyanna approaching him steadfastly.

Aemond had tried to avoid her since he came back from the North. He had no idea what to tell her, because surely he could not let her know the true reason of why Elyana did not return with him. Though he didn't care to disappoint her like he did his mother, he just did not want Elyana's mother hating him.

"Lady Lyanna." He gave her a curtly nod as he watched her come to him. Aemond tried to not look at her face, because Elyana was the image of her mother. So Lyanna only served to remind him of her and what he lost, and it made him want to burn Westeros to the ground.

"Prince Aemond... my daughter, why is she not back here? You promised to bring her back to me. You promised to marry her, you said you would. And you've been back a week and you've ignored me!" She accused him, because Lyanna did not care he was the prince.

All she cared was having her little girl in her arms once more.

"Elyana decided to stay back in the North, Lady Lyanna. I will not force her to come here and wed me if she does not wish it." He answered plainly.

"But you are the prince! She has to marry you, she can not birth a bastard. Maybe if I speak with her..." The woman suggested and Aemond got an idea manipulate Elyana. Though he supressed it. He promised himself not to manipulate Elyana any longer, though he yearned for it.

"Elyana is ten and eight. She is a woman grown and I will let her come to me when she chooses. As should you." Aemond answered even though he wanted to take Lyanna to Elyana to see if she could convince her to wed him.

Aemond gave the woman the smallest smile he could muster and turned around, leaving her standing there.

He wanted Elyana back in his arms more than he had ever wanted anything, but he needed it to be on her terms this time around.

On the fourteenth day of Elyana living in the North, Aemond wanted to die. He tossed and turned at night; and he prayed for a miracle. He prayed for her to magically appear besides him on the bed. It was his fantasy; what he wanted most in the world.

But every day he woke up utterly alone and cursing his own self for it. Aemond barely took to leaving his bedchamber then. All he could think about was all of the times he had taken her on his bed. How she would grip those same sheets, how she screamed his name in ecstasy.

He imagined her face contorting in pleasure as she peaked and he remembered how she would smirk when he slapped her when she was too loud. Aemond knew she was perfect for him. She was everything.

No matter how much Aemond pumped his own cock, nothing could ever quench the thirst he felt for her. He could come a hundred times with the help of his hand and the memories of her, but nothing compared.

She was just the right amount of wicked; and just the right amount of submissive. Elyana was stubborn, and she was entitled. And he loved her for it. All of her insults and her snappy comments made him want her all the more.

In the morning he decided to take Vhagar on a flight because he had clearly been neglecting her. He got ready quickly and fled his chambers, making haste to avoid meeting with any of his family members. He was not in the mood for any of them.

Aemond mounted Vhagar whenever he got to the dragonpit and took flight. He did not really know where he was going as she soared through the skies, but he did not care. It was a nice distraction from her, until he remembered when he took her riding.

He remembered how she had gripped him so strongly that he almost could not breathe. And she remembered her laugh of glee as the dragon dove to the ground. He wasn't sure this was normal. How could a person haunt someone's mind so easily? Was this his damnation?

As Aemond flew through one of the corn fields north of King's Landing, he took notice of a cavalcade heading for the capital. He leaned unto Vhagar, instructing her to go lower to the ground without having to speak the word.

Vhagar was careful not to go too low but Aemond could make out the house's banners of the cavalcade almost too easily. Stark. A frown happened upon his face as Vhagar soared over the carriages and then left them behind. Why was a cavalcade coming to King's Landing from the North? Was it her? Did she come back to him?

Aemond could feel jitters all over his body at the prospect of this. And he pulled on Vhagar's reins to turn her back to King's Landing.

He hoped, prayed, and had faith that Elyana had come to him.

Author's note:

A little filler chapter from my needy, dramatic, feral man! I am soooo excited to write her coming to court as the maid that he married. Like Alicent said, there's a lot of vipers and liars amongst the noble. But there's also vipers and liars amongst the servants ;)

I wanna thank every for keeping up with their little toxic relationship, it means so mcuh to me for this book to be received so well. Both of them have much work to do but they'll get there. Promise.

I have two other Aemond books, one is called Snow Princess with a Stark OC and toxic Aemond. And one is called Midnight Rain with uncle Aemond being a simp.

Though The Maid is my main baby and the one I love the most!

Also bestie AHoleForAemondhas a new book called 'The Dragon and the Falcon' and trust me it is so good. I was screaming reading it!!!!!!

Thank you for still reading x
