A New Best Babysitter part 2
A-ROAR-A PORRIDGE:
I ran though the forest. In front of me, there was a large ring of toadstool seats with unseelie fairys dancing around it. They were pretty, but everyone knows that if you are lured into one of the rare remaining circles then you were dead meat. I jumped over the ring of death. ~ "as I like to call them."~ While I was in midair Mommy screamed, "Clawde, save her! She's just a baby, she'll never make it!" Daddy ran towards me and as I grabbed a vine and swung over the circle of death, he tripped. Just as his ear reached the seats, I swung back and grabbed his paw. As I pulled him up, Daddy tried to do it himself. He twisted too far for my arm, and I dropped him. As Daddy fell back towards the circle I grabbed his paw and pulled him back up. This time he successfully pulled himself up. Then he held me close as if he were the hero. "Clawed, the way you threw her onto the vine, and jumped up onto the vine, and then did a flip, and climbed back up! It was... wongurrful!" Mommy growled in praise for Daddy. "I'm glad you're okay too, A-roar-a!" she growled happily hugging me. I pulled away, roaring, "I'm going home!" Then I ran back the way we had come. "Grrrcie, for a second I thought A-roar- never mind.
GOLDY LOCKS:
I dreamed that I was in the heart of the forest. "Gol-dy-Locks! Gol-dy-Locks! Gol-dy-Locks!" chanted everyone exept Redd, the school athlete and Bow the prissy shepered's daughter. She hated me because I I had refused to join her popular, mean girl group. She only wanted me because I was pretty. I would have joined to become popular, except for one thing. They wanted me to quit sports and become a cheerleader. "Don't worry, we'll tell the judges to vote for you" they had said. "No. If I can't play sports, I'm not joining." I had replied. "She's much too pretty to be doing this." they said huffily. Redd rode off on her pretty red bike, red hood flapping behind her. Redd was the only one who understood that you could be pretty and strong. She had asked me to join her football team, but I told her no, and that I hated football. "I'll be on any of your other teams though." I said hurriedly, seeing the disgusted look starting to form. "That's the only one of my sports that I take seriosly." She said. We were mortal enemies from then on. "I'm tough enough!" I screamed, glaring at Bow, and climbing to the top of the tallest tree. "She's tough enough!" my best friend Mary repeated. She could be quite... contrary at times. "Gol-dy-Locks! Gol-dy-Locks! Gol-dy-Locks!" I jumped out of the tree, flipped three times, landed it, and did a few cartwheels to keep the crowd oooohing. "Show off." I heard Bow grumble. Boyed ran up to Bow excitedly. We'd both had crushes on Boyed since 3rd grade. Back then it was friendly and we were friends. Now it isn't... They were dating now. Ever since he'd returned the poor runaway sheep she'd lost, they had been having secret glances. Then all of a sudden he'd purposely passed her a note when Ms. Godmother, the only teacher in the school that was a mermaid, was looking. When she read it aloud it said, "Bow, oh bow, where is your sheep? it has stolen my heart and brought it back for you to keep. "Bow, oh, Bow, Little Bow Peep, will you go out with me(ep)?" The next day Ms. Godmother read another note aloud. Oh, Boyed how romantic! A poem! I couldn't rhyme if my life depended on it, but yes yes yessssss!" She pecked him on the cheek before he said, "Bow, did you see that? That was amazing!" "No it wasn't!" she cried, pouting. "If you you say so Bow." Then they started to kiss. Revolted, I started to walk away. Boyed looked up and said, "There's a wolf at your house! It's eating your grandma." "I doubt it, I mean you arn't known for telling the truth, especially about wolfs." I said, laughing. He started to laugh too. Bow had no sence of humor. I guess I was giving him a break from all that serious kissing. "Stay away from my bed." Bow said, glaring. "Should I kill it?" Boyed asked. This was not his voice! "Get out of my bed!" Mary walked up saying, "No, don't kill it, I don't want gore all over my daughter's bed." "Wake up and get of here!" "Get out of my bed!" "Why won't she get out of bed?!"
"Maybe she's hibernating early?" I woke up with a start to find three angry bears glaring at me.
AROARA PORRIDGE:
I had gotten tired and my parents caught up to me soon after I slowed down. We were close to the house now. "My waffles! I cried as we ran into the cave. AVFFLES AFFLEs AFFLes AFFles AFfles Affles affles! "It can't be that cold, sweetie, and Cavila I thought I asked you not to echo us." "No one likes me!" Cavila whined, and went quiet. "Someone's been eating my waffles and they're still too hot!" "Someone's been eating my waffles and they're still too cold!" "Someone's been eating my waffles and they ate them all up!" I roared. All today could do was get worse! "Cavila who ate the waffles?" Didn't Mommy know not to be rude to someone if you were going to use them as a security camera? "Maybe we could eat a little of your chair?" Daddy asked me sheepishly.
Daddy knew the chair was for me only, and definitely not for eating. "Good idea Clawde!" Mommy growled, delighted that she would get something to eat after all. A little bit late Daddy. I was already halfway across the room. But Mommy and Daddy, with their long legs, got there first. "Someone's been sitting in my chair!" "Someone's been sitting in my chair!" "Someone's been sitting in my chair, and they smashed it to pulp!" I roared. "Aroara, honey, you've been acting a little bit grumpy. Maybe you should take a nap. "I don't wanna take a nap!" I screamed and cried as Daddy picked me up and carried me up the stairs. I pounded my fists on his chest and kicked. Sometimes acting like the baby they thought I was, well I was, paid off. "Aroara, honey. What if we took naps too?" I pretended to think about it. It had to be convincing. As soon as Mommy and Daddy got in their beds, they fell asleep. I wanted to get them back for underestimating me in the forest, and always. They always blamed everything I did on Daddy, or praised him for it. I was gonna get them back. "Someone's been sleeping in my bed! The rocks are in all the wrong places!" "Someone's been sleeping in my bed! They ripped up my canopy!" "Something is currently sleeping in my bed!" "Get her out!" Mommy screamed at Daddy. "Get out of my bed!" "Should I kill it?" "No, don't kill it, I don't want gore all over my daughter's bed." "Wake up and get out of here!" Daddy growled, shaking her, and then gently clawing her face. "Why won't she wake up?" "Maybe she's hibernating early?" She woke up with a start and a scream when she found three angry bears glaring at her. I almost felt sorry for her. Almost.
GOLDY LOCKS:
~I didn't scream! "Anyone would have, Yo-" I did not scream! "Okay, okay, you didn't.~
"She's awake! Go guard the doors!" The medium bear growled. The three bears ran to three different exits. I was turning towards the medium bear who seemed girlish enough to get past, when she growled, "Wait, she'll just jump over Aroara Clawde, help her guard the door!"
"These bears underestimate the baby!" I thought angrily. Guessing the huge male was Clawde and the baby was Aroara, I ran towards them instead. I jumped and flipped over Clawde, while grabbing his paws to turn him onto his back. I landed on his feet, hard, for extra pizzazz.
"Oww!" he roared angrily. "Hey! Don't be mean to my dad!" Aroara roared, doing a karate kick that was wobbly but true, and missing me by a fraction of an inch. "Yahhh!" I bellowed, pinning her to the ground. "Let me go!" she screamed, squirming and wriggling.
"Shut up, I just wanted to ask you a question!" "Huh?" She said. Obviously she was wondering how I could ask questions while fighting bears. "Do they always underestimate you? That kick would have knocked most people down." I She knodded dumbly, surprised by the question.
"The name's Goldy. Goldy Locks." I said holding out my hand. She shook it reluctantly saying, "Aroara, Aroara Porridge."
I decided to jump right in. Speaking as quickly as I could, I said, "ThepeopleIknowthinkIshouldbelesssportyandmoregirlyEveryoneunderestimatesmetoo!" "What?" "Sorry, the people I know think I should be less sporty and more girly. They underestimate me too!" I repeated.
"Actually if you don't mind me saying so I'm really smart but not all that agile most of the time. Could you teach me your moves? I could teach you math and language arts!" she said excitedly.
"Of course I'll teach you I just don't really need to learn 1 + 1 = 3 I mean 2!" I quickly fixed my answer. That was embarrassing.
"Well it sounds like you do, but that's not what I'm learning." Aroara said smirking at me. "Well what are you learning?" I said, getting a little red in the face. This baby was making fun of me!
"I'm teaching myself calcu... calcu... calcu... calc." "What?" That was the class I was failing and she shouldn't even know what it was!" "That's right I said Calc." Aroara said grinning smugly.
I was about to snap and wipe that look off her smug little face when she started talking again. "We can teach each other on Wen-" I suddenley remembered why I was here. "Do you guys need a babysitter?" "Actually we do!" Aroara said happily, realizing what I meant.
"This is totally awesome we can be B.F.F's!" "Sure, I just need to tell your parents that I'm your baby sitter." "Don't you mean ask to be my babysitter?" Aroara corrected. I just laughed.
"Hey Clawde Growly, or whatever your name is, I'm Aroara's babysitter now. You pay me twenty lbucks an hour." "But-" Growly growled. "I am Aroara's babysitter." "Okay whatever. We're going out now because I have to remake breakfast. Clawde you want oatmeal?"
"No I want porridge." "Okay, you want it hot?" "Too hot if you can." "I'll have mine too cold." "Just right please." I was very surprised. They did this on purpose? While Aroara ate her porridge, I decided to explore. I was entranced by a beatiful golden mirror when Aroara walked in. I didn't even notice her. I reached out to touch it.
"BLOOP BLOOP BLOP!" she yelled.
I touched the mirrior and all at once the room was spinning changing colors and I was in some kind of mirror world.
