Chapter Twenty-Two: The Flashback Part I
It was a dark and rainy night. The cries of an infant were made in the manor house. Two women walked through the manor house and followed the sounds of the baby cries. One of the woman appeared to be thirty, had pale skin, beautiful long straight black hair and gray eyes. The woman wore a black sleeveless top with white horizontal stripes, blue capris and white socks. The other woman also looked thirty, had dark skin, curly brown hair and warm brown eyes. She wore a white V-neck shirt with a black rose on the front, blue damaged jeans and black socks with gray stripes. She wore silver hoop earrings and a silver nose piercing on the right side of her nose. The talked as they walked towards the sound of the baby cries.
"Savannah, thank you so much for helping me out," said the black haired woman, "he's an easy baby, but sometimes two children can be a handful."
"It's no trouble at all, Mckayla," said the woman with curly brown hair with a smile, "I love my three little boys, but they can be rambunctious at times. I know what it's like to have a new baby and having a hubby work long hours to support the family. Plus, I love seeing that little daughter and son you've got. Their adorable as a basket of adorable kittens with mittens."
"My mother never loved her children, but I will always love my children," said Mckayla, "my children are a blessing."
"Wait until their teen years, you'll long for those happy times when they were little, always running around the house and are too young to talk back at you," said Savannah.
They both laughed at Savannah's comment.
"So, is your husband coming home late again?" Asked Savannah.
"He called me not that long ago and said he'll be home soon," said Mckayla, "you can't really blame him for working so late. It's a lot of work being a doctor, lots of lives to save."
The baby cries grew louder. The two woman hustled themselves to the baby's room.
"Mommy is coming!" Called Mckayla, "hold on honey!"
When they entered the blue nursery, they felt an unnerving and unsettling feeling. Mckayla knew the feeling was familiar, but couldn't put her finger on where's she felt this feeling before. Suddenly, Savannah started coughing uncontrollably and fell to her knees. Her body also shook uncontrollably.
"Savannah? SAVANNAH!" Cried Mckayla as her friend fell, "are you okay?! What's wrong?! Get ahold of yourself!"
Savannah continued to cough uncontrollably and shake uncontrollably. She even started to cough up blood.
"Oh my Light! Savannah!" Panicked Mckayla.
Suddenly, the coughing stopped. Savannah wiped the blood on her mouth with her hand. She stood up. Her legs wobbled as she started walking.
"Savannah? Are you okay?" Asked Mckayla, "what are you doing?"
Savannah ignored her and walked over to the crying baby's crib. She picked up the baby and faced her friend. The baby had pale skin and a black patch of hair. The baby was wrapped in a baby blue blanket. When Savannah turned around to face Mckayla, her brown eyes were now gray and she had dark rings under her eyes.
"Oh don't worry dear child, Savannah is perfectly fine," said a different yet familiar.
"Y-You! Chaos!" Cried Mckayla in shock.
Savannah laughed maniacally.
"Aw, you're not going to call me mother anymore? I'm hurt," sneered Chaos.
"Get used to the feeling! Put down my baby!" Yelled Mckayla.
Savannah's fingernails grew very long.
"Put the child down? If you insist....." Said Chaos as she drew her nails closer to the baby.
"Stop it! I didn't mean it like that! Please don't hurt him!" Pleaded Mckayla, "STOP IT!"
Chaos pulled away Savannah's fingernails and the nails grew shorter.
"Do not fear my child, I will not harm your baby," said Chaos, "in fact, I should be thanking you for this baby. By giving birth to this child, you've made my plans all the more easier."
"W-What do....you mean?" Stuttered Mckayla.
"You see child, what you have here is a prophecy baby," said Chaos, "and this boy is not the only one. Your little daughter also has a prophecy to fulfill."
"Prophecy...?" Said Mckayla in confusion, "Wait, you don't mean-......"
Chaos cackled. "That's right child, so you do remember," she said, "the prophecy that was meant to be yours and that husband of yours."
Chaos cleared her throat as she recited the prophecy.
"The blood of lightness will spill. The blood of darkness will spill, much to madness's thrill. Two shall be sacrificed, a child of Chaos and a child of Light. Their demise shall lead to darkness's rise! All mortals will die, as they look into madness's eye."
"No! It can't be! This can't be happening!" Cried Mckayla.
"Believe it child, for it shall happen," said Chaos, "just ask that oracle if you don't believe me. The prophecy that was foretold thousands of years ago was foreseen again by her when your two children were born. Each of them bare my blood as well as Light's blood. And both of them shall fulfill that prophecy and succeed where you failed."
"Becoming your destiny child was a mistake I will not let you repeat with my children!" Yelled Mckayla, "give me my baby back and leave here and never come back! If you want to torture children, then go torture your own! But leave my children out this prophecy!"
"Very well, if you want your child back," said Chaos before tossing the baby in the air, "then come take it!"
Mckayla quickly caught the infant before it could hit the ground. She held her crying child close to her and shushed him as she rocked him to calm the baby.
"It's okay," she shushed, "your mother is here."
Savannah's eyes turned brown again, the rings around her eyes faded and she collapsed to the ground. The scene faded.
Jesse woke up in shock. He woke up in one of the bedrooms of the Wizard Games's hotel. As he awoke, he saw Angela using her healing powers on his arm to heal the bruises and Alexia next to Angela. Jesse rubbed his eyes. He thought he was seeing double. They both smiled at him.
"Welcome back," they both said.
