Chapter Twenty-Eight: Anthea and Gale's Conversation.

"Foul! I call foul!" Shouted Anthea, "open your eyes refs, that is unsportsmanlike conduct! The Dark Deceivers should be penalized!"

Anthea was sitting on her water couch in her office watching reruns of the Wizard Games on her flat screen tv. Right now, they were rerunning the game where the blood red hair boy had stabbed and killed the thirteen year old girl. Today Anthea wore a turquoise v-neck blouse, blue skinny jeans and black high heels. As Anthea watched the rerun, she noticed that it has been censored. Anthea knew that the Gamemasters never showed footage of dying competitors, but they would always edit the footage so it could provide an explanation for missing competitors. In this rerun, it showed the boy stabbing the girl, but it was edited and censored so that it would look like that the girl was only severely injured but in no danger of dying. But Anthea knew better than that, the girl was dead.....that poor young girl was dead without a question and anyone who was smart enough could tell that the girl was dead beyond a shadow of doubt. Watching the games with her were Gale and Hope. Gale wore a red sleeveless shirt with a black raven on it, black cargo pants and black boots. His sister Hope wore a beautiful pink sundress with a turquoise ribbon tied at the waist and pink flip flops.

"Looks like this year's Wizard Games will be very interesting," said Gale, "the way the Gamemasters edited that footage and their dismissal of that red haired boy's onscreen murder just proves there's something going on with the Gamemasters."

"Indeed, but we don't have enough evidence to prove if their all guilty," said Anthea, "the best we can do for now is sit and watch. I'm sure if there was any real danger, the Magical Elements would have contacted us by now."

"Speaking of which," said Gale, "have you found anything on Alister Phoenix like Jesse requested?"

"Actually I did find some things on that boy," said Anthea, "when I did a background check on all members of the Phoenix clan, I couldn't find a single bit of information on Alister Phoenix. According to all records of known members of the Phoenix clan, that boy doesn't exist."

"Unless this Alister Phoenix uses an alias, I wish to say that you're research is severely flawed," said Hope.

"Noted," said Anthea, "anyway, I myself was just as confused. So I did a search on members of the Phoenix clan that would still be alive today assuming the fact that a few were able to survive my mother's wrath. Which I would like to say that I approved of. I'm aware that the massacre on the Phoenix clan was terrible, but my mother was doing the world a favor by getting rid of those blood thirsty murders and avenging the death of my little sister. Anyway, during my search I found that only three members of the Phoenix clan are still alive as far as we know. One of them is the former head of the Phoenix clan, Alexander Phoenix age 60. However, he dropped out of sight years ago and he's way to old to be Alister, even if he did use a masquerade spell. The second member was Kira Phoenix age 27. She could be able to pull of a male masquerade, but I doubt that she has a good reason to. According to records, she got married a few years ago and has two children with one on the way. That just left me with one remaining member, Axel Phoenix age......probably 17 now."

Gale's eyes widened then narrowed. "Axel Phoenix, the child that snapped."

"Lady Anthea, this Axel Phoenix....you think that he and Alister Phoenix are one in the same," said Hope.

Anthea nodded her head.

"Indeed," said Anthea, "I wasn't positive at first, but every other theory that I could think of led right back to Axel. It's a shame what happened to Axel. It's quite hard to comprehend why that once gentle, kind and asthmatic boy became as sick and twisted as every member of the Phoenix clan. What horrible mental torture inflicted on him by his parents cause him to snap? Perhaps we'll never know. But whatever it was, it must have horrible enough to drive Axel to insanity and to slaughter most of the remaining members of the Phoenix clan."

"That's how it is for the Phoenix clan," said Gale, "the Phoenix clan doesn't tolerate any show of weakness. Members of the Phoenix clan discipline their children to be ruthless, merciless, blood thirsty assassins. If a child can't live up to the expectations, then the child is immediately disowned and either abandoned or disposed of. It must have been difficult for a child like Axel to grow up in such a family."

"All it took was nine years of his family's insanity to break him, when the Phoenix clan's demon blood awoke within him," said Gale, "now he's just another symbol of the Phoenix clan's mad nature."

"I remember the day that boy left Wizard City," said Hope, "it was during my previous past life when I was twenty nine. Before that day, you Lady Anthea, were trying to help the poor boy. You assigned doctors and shrinks to treat him, but all of those efforts were in vain. The boy was able to escape his involuntary hospitalization and fled Wizard City without a trace."

Anthea frowned.

"Yeah, Yeah. I remember how I failed to bring a young impressionable boy back to sanity. No need to remind me," said Anthea, "I'll call Jesse back later tonight to report my findings."

"Lady Anthea, Gale and I regret to inform you that we have more unfortunate information," said Hope, "during the beginning of the Games, when they were introducing teams to the audience, I sensed some darkness within the audience. It felt exactly like Chaos's dark aura, I would know that aura better than anyone. I've also seen visions of certain individuals causing havoc at the Wizard Games, I believe Chaos has sent them to shake things up so to speak."

Gale took out pieces of folded up papers out of his pocket and handed them over to Anthea.

"Hope described these individuals to the best sketch artists on the police force and she said that these sketches were very accurate," said Gale, "do you recognize any of them?"

Anthea looked through the sketches. One of the sketches was of a boy with tan skin, black hair and gray eyes. In the sketch, it showed that he wore a black denim jacket over a dark grey shirt, black jeans and black sneakers.

"Daniel," said Anthea, "an angel of darkness and one of the grandchildren of Chaos. Figures she would send some of her kinfolk to do her bidding. He might be a threat since dark Angels can turn people over to the dark side, but I don't think it's nothing they can't handle. The Magical Elements are good kids, they won't be easy to influence."

Anthea looked through the other remaining sketches. Most of them were of the members of Team Dark Deceivers or low ranked wizards that didn't seem as big of a threat. But their was one picture that caught Anthea's attention. It was a sketch of a handsome man that was twenty-six years old, had fair skin, brown eyes and long black hair tied back in a ponytail. Anthea's heart felt like it stopped beating when she saw the man's face. Tears rolled down her face.

"T-That's......n-no.......it's impossible!" Stuttered Anthea, "..........Raymond........"

"Lady Anthea, is something wrong?" Asked Gale.

Anthea tuned out Gale's question.

"Lady Anthea, please answer me!" Said Gale.

Anthea turned to Gale and handed the sketch.

"Gale, run a background check on this man immediately," said Anthea.

"Lady Ant-......"

"Do it now!" Snapped Anthea.

Gale flinched. "Uh...yes Lady Anthea!" Gale and Hope hurried out the door.

When the door was shut, Anthea fell to her knees and wept.

"No way......there's no way," she said to herself, "Raymond died.....no, was murdered over four hundred years ago. And most resurrection spells to resurrect a human life have been illegal for a long time. Who would-........... Chaos.....!"

Anthea stood up and punched the wall so hard that her fist went right through.

"Too far Chaos! Too far!" Yelled Anthea, "it's bad enough you're playing with Jesse's and Jeanette's lives, now you're gonna torment me?! I bet your just laughing at me right now, waiting for your little plan to succeed! Well the jokes on you! You're sealed away while I get to roam free, you little witch! You won't be able to do anything when I foil whatever it is your planning, so laugh it up now, because you won't be laughing for long!"

Anthea began to laugh hysterically and uncontrollably. She looked into a mirror in her office and stopped laughing. Her hair was nappy and frazzled, her eyes were red and puffy from crying and she had bats under her eyes.

"Yeesh, maybe I should take a few days off or something," she said to herself.
