Chapter Thirty- Five: Wizards vs. Humans Part II
Everything was spinning in Lily's world. She wasn't sure if it was from her excruciating pain or the shocking news that a human is working with the Dark One and Chaos to wipe out his entire race, but either way, her body felt heavy with the weight of whichever was pulling her down. As she struggled to rise to her feet, she caught some glimpses of how everyone else was doing. Harley was still shooting blue fireballs at Raphael as he dodged each one of them. Cassandra continuously swung her scythe at Cindy, who used acrobatics to avoid being sliced in half by the scythe. As for Maya, she was still firing small magical bullets at Mindy, who dodged every last bullet with seemingly little effort. And lastly, Anderson was still guarding the body of the fatally injured dragon referee, readily alert for any sort of danger. Lily then felt a sudden painful strike on her back, causing her to yelp and cough up some blood.
"It pains me to do this to a child," said Ray, the one responsible for Lily's torture, "however, I will not tolerate anything or anyone who stands in the way of our ultimate goal! That includes both you and your friends, chi-......"
Ray was interrupted by Lily when she stabbed her sword into his right leg, forcing him to drop to his knees in pain.
"I.....am......not.....a.......child!" Growled Lily, as she ripped her sword out of Ray's leg, causing Ray to yelp in pain. Lily's sword grew shorter by another few inches after being removed from Ray's leg wound.
"You go girl!" Cheered Cassandra, who was preoccupied with dodging Cindy's various kicks to the face.
Cassandra then tried to land a hit with a quick swing of her scythe, but ended up missing when Cindy gracefully jumped out of the way and jumped again onto her scythe. Before Cassandra could get the chance to shake her off, Cindy quickly kicked Cassandra in the face, causing her to fall backwards and almost lose her grip on her scythe. Before Cassandra could regain her focus, she felt another powerful kick to the face, followed by another one. Before the fourth kick could land on her face however, Cassandra grabbed Cindy's leg and thrust it backwards, causing Cindy to fall backwards in the process. Blood dripped from Cassandra's nose and her face had several bruises, but Cassandra kept those nuisances out of mind as she got to her feet and impaled the tip of her scythe's blade into Cindy's leg; the leg that had kicked Cassandra in the face three times. After being kicked three times in the face, Cindy's yelps from pain were somewhat therapeutic to Cassandra that she didn't even mind the fact that her face was throbbing with pain. Perhaps a few kicks to Cindy's face would be just as relaxing.....
As the battles continued around her, Maya continued to fire multiple small magical bullets at Mindy as she dodged every last one of them with graceful acrobatics. If Maya's magical energy wasn't blocked, she would've been firing multiple, larger bullets that were more difficult to evade. However, her only magic was the magic Lily had transferred into her gun, and Maya had no idea how many shots she would get if she tried to make the bullets bigger since the larger the bullets, the more magical energy that is released. As her struggles continued, Maya caught a glance at Cassandra's battle. Cindy was back on her feet and dodging Cassandra's scythe swings again. However due to her leg injury, her movements were slowed and less efficient at evading the scythe's swings. Nevertheless, Cindy was able to maintain her distance from the scythe's blade even though she had a few close shaves. It didn't take long for Maya to come up with a new idea on how to defeat these circus freak twins. Without wasting another second, Maya pointed her gun at Cindy and shot magical bullets at her that were the size of tennis balls. The bullets were direct hits since Cindy didn't know the attack was coming. The impact of the magical bullets to her body made Cindy yelp out in pain and fall over.
"Cindy!" cried Mindy when she saw what Maya had done to her twin sister. Mindy then turned her attention towards Maya and started running towards her with rage.
"How dare you harm my sister!" Mindy yelled, "No one hurts my twin sister except me!"
Mindy began to launch multiple kicks at Maya as soon as she got close enough. Unfortunately for her, Maya was able to barely avoid kicks to the face or anywhere else in general. Maya also used her gun to block Mindy's furious kicks. Their fight was then cut short when Cassandra rammed the edge of her scythe onto Mindy's left side, causing her to fall backwards in pain. Though she was in pain, she endured it and got back on her feet before Cassandra could strike another blow. She then proceeded to launch multiple kicks at Cassandra while Cassandra blocked each one with her scythe.
"I'm actually quite surprised at the way that girl shot my sister from behind," said Mindy as she continued her attacks on Cassandra, "I never thought that a member of the Magical Elements could do something so cheap and cowardly."
"Cheap and cowardly?! Says the girl from the group that poisoned my friend with a behind attack," said Cassandra as she blocked Mindy's attacks, "and isn't you and your sister's whole fighting style about stealth and involves a lot of attacks from behind?"
The sound of Mindy gritting her teeth furiously probably could have been heard in the Underworld after what Cassandra just said.
"Shut up!" yelled Mindy as she prepared herself to launch a powerful kick.
Before she could land her attack however, Mindy caught a glance at Maya, who was pointing her gun towards her.
"Try to dodge this, circus freak!" Maya called out before she pulled the trigger.
Maya shot a giant magical bullet, about ten times the size of the last bullets she had shot at Cindy, at Mindy. Cassandra swiftly moved out of the way as the bullet headed towards Mindy. Before Mindy could move out of the way, the bullet landed a direct hit, causing Mindy to be sent flying backwards until she hit the wall.
"That's one less annoying witch to deal with," said Maya with a smug look on her face.
Suddenly, Maya felt a powerful shot of pain forced upon her from the back of her head. The pain caused her to fall forwards and to slip into unconsciousness. Cassandra turned to see that Maya's attacker was Cindy, back on her feet.
"Oh please, everyone knows that I'm an even bigger witch than my sister," said Cindy to Maya.
Harley wasn't having it much easier than the others. As she had been doing for a while, she was continuously shooting blue fox fireballs at Raphael. However, Raphael continuously avoided each fireball that came his way as he also tried to get closer to Harley with his dagger. This frustrated Harley even more because she appeared to be very reluctant to use any other form of demon fox magic for some reason.
Darn it all, thought Harley, I can't land a single hit on this guy! My fox fire isn't going to be enough, I have to use my other demon powers. But.......
Harley took a glance at the others around her. Cassandra was fending of Cindy's attacks once again, Maya was lying unconscious, Lily was clashing swords with Ray, and Anderson was still guarding the injured referee. Everyone seemed too preoccupied to take notice of what Harley was planning to do, but all the same Harley was still reluctant. With her focus away from the situation at hand, Raphael seized the opportunity to strike at Harley. Fortunately, Harley regained her focus at the last moment to duck down, letting the dagger Raphael carried slit a gash onto Harley's forehead instead of letting the dagger be stabbed into her chest. Blood trickled down from the open gash in Harley's forehead, but Harley did not let that stop her from firing a fox fireball at Raphael while she had an opening. The fireball made direct contact with Raphael and caused him to fall to his knees in silent pain. Harley wiped some of the blood off of her forehead. She took a look at the blood on her fingers and shuddered.
"Keep it together, Harley," she mumbled to herself, "it's all in the past now. She can't hurt me any-......".
Harley was cut off when she felt a painful slash across her right arm. When she faced her attacker, the attacker was Raphael who had slashed his dagger on Harley's arm. With her left hand, Harley shot a blue fox fireball at Raphael. The fireball missed Raphael however when he teleport away before the fireball could hit him. Harley then used her left hand to cover the wound on her right arm as she cringed in painful agony. Harley then felt a painful slash across her right cheek. Raphael had teleport closer to her to launch a close ranged strike and without wasting another second, Raphael launched a second strike at Harley's cheek, creating an X shaped wound on her cheek. Before he could launch a third attack however, Harley jumped backwards out of the way and shot a fireball at Raphael. As she had expected, Raphael teleport away before the fireball could land a hit, but at least Harley had a moment to plan her next move.
There's no other solution, thought Harley, I have to do it! But first, I have to make sure no one sees......
Harley swiftly made a hand sign that involved using her two index fingers and thumbs to make a leaf shape.
"Fox Magic: Illusion Mist!" chanted Harley.
In less than a second, a blinding and blurring mist began to surround the area, causing everyone who was fighting to stop in their tracks for they could not see well in this mist. Even Raphael found himself loss within the surrounding mist. He could not see anything except the mist around him. However, he stood his ground and waited for any sudden movements or attacks from anyone. Then suddenly, Raphael felt something dig deep into his back. They felt like a sharp set of claws and they ran across his back, leaving behind blood and deep long claw mark wounds. If Raphael could scream in agony, he would. Raphael fell forwards as he felt the throbbing pain on his back. His focus and vision began to blur even more than the mist did. Sweat began to seep down from all over his body. Raphael began to pant as it became harder and harder for Raphael to breathe correctly. Raphael then felt the same claws dig into his neck and was lifted up off the ground. Raphael could barely breathe and the claws seemed even more painful dug around into his throat than they were in his back. He was also in too much pain to break free from whoever had their claws in his throat. Raphael couldn't completely make out who had him by the neck, but he could see a pair of gold eyes staring directly at him.
"What a shame," said an unusual voice. The voice belonged to Harley, but there was something about it that sounded very unsettling. "I so hate having to use my other demon powers in public. If I use more of my demon powers than I have been doing, my transformation spell wears off. But with this mist surrounding us, no one will see. I don't need to see you to beat you when I can smell you." Raphael heard the sound of unsheathing claws, probably from Harley's other hand. "Y'know with that annoying silence of yours, the idea of hearing you scream in agony and for mercy became more and more delightful. I guarantee you that I will make you scream, the question is however, what will your screams sound like and what will you scream?"
"What the heck?! I can't see!" cried out Lily, "where are you guys?!"
"I have no idea!" called out Cassandra, "darn you, Harley! Lily, stay alert and try to find Maya! I think she's still unconscious!"
Lily nodded in agreement before she realized that Cassandra couldn't see her.
"Will do!" Lily called out.
However, that was easier said than done. Lily couldn't see anything but the mist around her. She heard the movements of the others, but that was not much help considering that she could not pinpoint the exact location of the movements. The sounds of the movements came from all different directions; for all she knew the enemies could be closer to her than she wanted and wouldn't even know it. Nevertheless, Lily stood her ground and readied her sword. The blade had gotten much shorter that it was about the size of a dagger's blade, but Lily knew she could still defend herself with the sword regardless of the blade's size. She just wished she was in better fighting condition. The wounds she received from her fight with Ray throbbed with pain and the dagger wound she received from Raphael was still oozing the black puss like substance. It has been over five minutes since the poison from Raphael's dagger was stabbed into Lily's body; she hasn't had any hallucinations as estimated, but her feelings of dizziness and her decreasing lack of balance suggested that she wasn't far from losing her grip on reality. Regardless, Lily remained focused on her current predicament.
"I know your out there somewhere!" Lily called out, "show yourself, Ray!"
Though it wasn't immediate, Lily heard a response.
"What is it with young children like you today?" said Ray, "so stubborn, you just don't know when to quit, do you?"
Without any second thought, Lily furiously conjured a lighting bolt and threw from a random direction into the mist. She then quickly clung to the arm she threw the bolt with due to the pain in the dagger wound.
"I.....AM.....NOT.....A......CHILD!!!!!!!!!" yelled Lily.
"Hey, watch it!" yelled Harley, "darn it, Lily! You almost hit me!"
"Sorry, Harley," called Lily. That's what her mouth said. Her hand however was saying something very insulting.
"You people are making a huge mistake," said Ray, "you're all on the wrong side! You should fight against humans, not for or with humans!"
"How could you be so quick to turn on your own race?" asked Lily, "you do realize that once humans are wiped from existence, Chaos will dispose of you, too! Chaos despises humans!"
"If that is her will, then so be it," said Ray, "It does not matter to me if Chaos disposes of me or not. I'm willing to go down with the rest of my disgusting race if I have to, my entire race deserves to die anyway!"
Lily couldn't believe she was hearing. A human who was willing to give up his own life so he can assist a group of wizard terrorists in committing genocide on his own race?! Something was obviously very wrong with this man!
"Your the one who is disgusting!" yelled Lily, "you're almost as bad as that lunatic Alister!"
"Don't you dare lug me in with that psychopath!" yelled Ray, "that guy has insanity to blame for his homicidal behavior! But I have reasons that are more justified!"
"I would really love to hear your "justified reasons" for killing your own kind," said Lily in a bit of a mocking tone of voice.
"I thought that as a wizard, you would understand my reasons," said Ray, "you wizards should know darn well how cruel and horrible humans can be! It has been like that since they came into existence. All humans are consumed by greed, hatred, and destruction; they're like an evolved form of cancer! The humans never accepted wizards as an equal, they always looked at them as forces of destruction, where as the reality of the matter is that humans are just as dangerous. All you wizards ever tried to do was make peace with the humans and helped them out whenever there was danger, and how did they repay your kind? They repaid your kind with violence, scorn, and rejection, just because you were different! But that's not all of it. The humans are not only a danger to the wizards, but to themselves as well. In any history book on human history, you'll see what humans had done to their own kind as well as the wizard kind! Lord Dark One was the one who opened my eyes to the truth about my race. He showed me the horrors and destruction that the human race has created ever since they came into existence. He showed me how hundreds of years ago, humans would accuse their own townspeople for a crime that they never even committed and had no solid evidence to back up their accusations! He showed me how hundreds of soldiers forced hundreds of natives away from their homes and stole their land! He showed me how a human dictator forced thousands of people into concentration camps with frightened looks on their faces as they are either worked or tortured to death! And lets not forget how humans would capture people from their native country and enslave them for the rest of their lives! An atomic bomb that was created by humans was dropped on a city that killed thousands of people who didn't even have the chance to pick up a weapon! All humans ever do is look out for themselves, seek power by any means necessary, and are willing to go so far as to separate themselves from others just because they look different. It's been that way for thousands of years; an endless cycle of destruction and pain. Of course wizards are no saints themselves, but at least they were open minded towards the idea of living in unity regardless of race or species! Humans and wizards were never meant to coexist with each other, so either we're faced with the options of eradicating the humans or the wizards. If wizards became extinct, nothing would change in the human societies! But if the humans were destroyed, wizards would be able to finally roam the Earth as they please without fear of discrimination and scorn from the humans. Can't you see the righteousness of our goal? In order to bring an era of peace to our world, the human race must die out!"
Lily was stunned for words. Everything that Ray had said may have been a bit extreme, but entirely true. Well, there was the exception of a few flaws. Lily and her friends have been hearing debates about whether or not humans and wizards should coexist together for years. The flaw with this debate however is that it is a one sided argument. People who believe wizards and humans should not coexist focus too much on what the humans have done without thinking about the actions that wizards have done as well. Though humans are more judgmental than wizards, wizards weren't exactly perfect. There were wizards in history that have done terrible things that would appear darker than anything the humans ever did. Sometimes the human society would end up caught in the crossfire or the target of the misdeeds. Neither society was perfect, each had its own list of sins.
"Ray, was it?" said Lily, "I won't deny that humans have done some pretty awful and messed up things to not only wizards but to their own kind as well. However, killing off the entire human race is not the solution. If wizards were to let Chaos and the Dark One do that, than we would be worse than they are. I'm sure you understand that wizards aren't saints in comparison, wizards have committed some dark acts not only towards our own society, but theirs as well. Whatever the Dark One and Chaos have told you is all part of a one sided argument. They wanted you to go against your own species, though I'm not sure why they would recruit a human in the first place. Besides, all of that stuff is in the past. Humans and wizards have been learning to coexist peacefully for generations. Sure there are some parts of the world that aren't as accepting of wizards than others, but progress begins one day at a time! I was born and raised in a town where wizards and humans live together peacefully. I'm the daughter of a wizard and a human! I can tell you with certainty that not all humans are as horrible as you say they are!"
"Liar! You're lying!" snapped Ray, "what you're saying is rubbish! Wizards and humans could never coexist with each other, nor would they ever will! Lord Dark One told me you or your friends would try to deceive me with such falsehoods! Trying to manipulate me with such unrealistic ideas, you'll never fool me with such nonsense!"
At this point, Lily was beyond confused.
Has this guy been living under a rock or something all his life? thought Lily, If he is aware of the existence of wizards, he should know that wizards and humans from different parts of the world have been living peacefully in the same society for a very long time! Either the Dark One and Chaos have brainwashed him or he's from Salem. Those are the only two explanations I can come up with that makes sense.
"They are the ones who are lying to you, Ray!" said Lily, "I don't know what they did to you to make you turn on your own kind, but you must believe that what I've been telling you is the truth. I've spent my whole life in a town with both human and wizard residents. I have two younger sisters who are humans and three human step-fathers. I'm sure that you did not always believed that humans deserved to die, at some point you must of saw the good in humanity! Please end this mad-....."
"Enough!" snapped Ray, "I will not listen to your false tales no longer! My goals are not any of your concern anyway! You should be more concerned with what awaits you and the other Magical Elements!"
Lily sighed heavily. She figured that it wouldn't be easy to reason with someone who had mad intentions, but at least she gave it a shot. She clenched her sword tightly in her hand as she prepared herself for anything. As she waited, she began to feel very uneasy. For some odd reason, her whole body began to tremble. Sweat rolled down her face and neck. She also felt dizzy and disoriented. Her breath also began shortening, causing her to pant as she found it becoming difficult for her to breathe. Lily then began to feel an itching inflammation on her arms. Without any hesitation, she dropped her sword and began to scratch her arms vigorously, trying to soothe the itching. However as she scratched, she noticed blood trickling down her arms. She removed her bloody fingers away from her arm to reveal pieces of her skin falling off where she had scratched. At that very moment, Lily screamed in blood curdling horror.
"Lily, what's going on?! What's wrong?!" called Cassandra.
"MY SKIN IS FALLING OFF!!!!" screamed Lily.
"Oh my Light!" muttered Cassandra in shock, "don't panic and stay where you are! I'll be with you as soon as I c-......"
Cassandra was cut off when she felt multiple quick jabs on her back and then felt a sudden kick to the back of her head that knocked her down. The attacks that came from behind were from the twins Cindy and Mindy.
"Thought you were through with us, didn't you? You annoying reaper girl!" said Mindy.
"Sounds like the hallucination effect of the poison has finally kicked in for your friend," said Cindy with a smirk, "we heard what she's been seeing. Her skin is definitely not falling off, she just believes it is because the poison is messing with her perception."
"It won't be long now before she loses her mind," mocked Mindy, "and then after that......"
Both Cindy and Mindy chuckled wickedly and mockingly. Cassandra gritted her teeth as she forced herself to get up. With her scythe in hand, Cassandra swung her scythe at the twins, only managing to hit Mindy's cheek when the twins tried to evade the scythe. Mindy put a hand to her cheek and looked at the blood on her fingers.
"Ow, my face!" she cried in pain, "your going to regret that, reaper!"
"My only regret is that scythe didn't split you in two," said Cassandra, "or in your case, in three!"
Mindy clenched her fists tightly. "Why you, cheeky little-......"
Mindy was cut off when a skeleton hand suddenly popped out of the ground and grabbed her ankle. Mindy screamed with horror and her sister screamed in union as well when another skeleton hand appeared from beneath the ground and grabbed her ankle as well. The skeleton hands suddenly went further and further up the twins' bodies as the owners of the skeleton hands rose up from the ground. The hands belonged to two zombie corpses that arose from the ground. The zombies both had a mixture of flesh and skeletal areas shown on their bodies. One of the zombies looked a lot like the Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and the other zombie looked like a typical high school jock with a brunette mullet. The two zombies held onto the twins tightly, keeping them from escaping no matter how hard they struggled. Then Cassandra felt a sudden strong gust of wind that blew away the mist surrounding the area, making it clearer to see what was going on around her. Maya had regained consciousness but looked a little dazed from the blow to the head. Lily was still scratching her arms, trying to relieve the itching, and she looked very terrified. Cindy was right, Lily's skin wasn't falling off, but Cassandra had an uneasy feeling that Lily's skin might tear off if she continued scratching any further when she saw the scratch marks on Lily's arms. Not far from where Lily was standing, Anderson was standing over the unconscious body of Ray, with the injured referee on his left shoulder. As for Harley, she had Raphael pinned against a wall and was beating him without mercy. Harley's appearance however has changed since she conjured the mist. Panic swelled up in Cassandra's chest as she knew that nothing good will occur from this. Harley's long black hair had turned silver and the ponytail had come undone. Her pointy ears were gone and were replaced with silver furred fox ears. Her pretty blue eyes had also turned into gold colored eyes and behind Harley was silver fox tail that shifted back and forth aggressively. Her long manicured nails had turned into sharp claws covered in blood as well. As for Raphael, the poor guy was battered and bruised, had a swelled up black eye, and bleeding claw scratch marks around his throat. Yet through all of that pain, Raphael did not make a sound, which made Harley even more angry as she continued to beat him. Then suddenly without any warning, Cassandra felt someone grab her from behind and squeeze her in a tight hug. Cassandra turned her head to see her older sister, Alexia, hugging her and with a big smile on her face.
"I knew those two zombies must've come from you!" said Cassandra with delight, "Only you would conjure the Adolf Hitler zombie as much as you do."
"Hey, Hitler is still serving time to repent his sins," said Alexia, "might as well make good use out of the worst human to have ever lived while he still has a veeeerrrryyyyy long list of sins to be repented."
"Let us go, reaper!" demanded Cindy.
Alexia walked towards Cindy and Mindy, with both of her hands clenched as fists.
"Actually, I think I'd rather do this instead!" said Alexia.
Alexia raised both her fists and slammed them both very hard on Cindy and Mindy's heads, causing them both to fall unconscious.
"Nicely done, princess!" said a voice.
The girls turned to the entrance. They saw Jordan standing in the entryway along with Gale, Hope, the remaining members of the Magical Elements, Jacob, and the remaining members of Team Undead. Jordan was carrying both Alister and Jesse on his shoulders; Alister was still unconscious and Jesse was giggling hysterically, which made everyone feel very uneasy.
"Thanks, Jordan," said Alexia, "and you did an awesome job as well with the way you used your javelin to conjure that gust of wind to blow the mist away!"
"That was him?" said Maya, joining in the conversation.
Jordan nodded. "Yeah, its nothing special. Just one of the many amazing things my javelin can do," he said in a modest tone.
"Nothing special, my butt," said Troy, "I wouldn't mind having that thing the next time a potion blows up in my face during Alchemy class!"
"Uh, guys?" said Angela, "what is Lily doing?"
Angela and everyone else looked at Lily. She was still scratching her arms and mumbling that her skin was falling off.
"Oh crap, I almost forgot about her!" said Cassandra. Cassandra turned to Anderson. "Anderson, get the syringe with the antidote!"
Anderson nodded in understanding and dug through Ray's trench coat pocket for the syringe.
"What's wrong with Lily?" asked Sami.
"She's been poisoned with the same poison that Jesse has been poisoned with," explained Anderson, "only this type of poison is more accelerated and deadly than the one in Jesse."
Anderson pulled the syringe out of Ray's pocket.
"I'll give Lily the antidote," volunteered Angela as hurried herself over to Anderson and took the syringe.
Angela then hurried over to Lily, who continued to frantically scratch her arms. Her eyes were filled with both paranoia and fear, and she repeatedly muttered "My skins falling off! MY SKIN'S FALLING OFF!"
"You're going to be okay, Lily," said Angela in a comforting manner, "please stop scratching your arm and let me hold it for a sec."
Of course, Lily did not respond to Angela. Angela wasn't even sure if Lily could even hear her. Though she was still scratching her arm, Angela was still able to take hold of it and inject the syringe into Lily's arm. When the antidote was injected into Lily's body, Lily's scratching began to slow down and then stopped all at once. Lily's body stopped trembling and her breathing started to return to normal. She looked at her arms and saw that her arms were completely normal, aside from the scratch marks that is. Lily sighed heavily.
"Thanks Angela," she said relieved, "I wasn't sure how much more of that hallucination I could have taken without losing my mind."
Angela smiled at her friend. "No prob," she said. Angela then looked at Harley who was still beating Raphael mercilessly.
"You son of a witch! Why won't you talk or scream?!" snapped Harley furiously. She then forced her free hand into Raphael's mouth. "What's up with you?! Cat got your t-........" Harley paused as she felt around inside Raphael's mouth.
This guy doesn't have a tongue! thought Harley, my bad......
Harley then saw some strange shadows from something behind her. She turned to see thorny tentacle-like vines targeted directly towards her. The vines originated from Angela's seed that she had previously used against Alister. Angela stared at Harley with her intimidating gray eyes.
"That's enough, Harley! Put that boy down immediately or else!" Angela warned very menacing.
Among the others, there were lots of murmuring and whispering.
That's Harley?! thought Ellen.
Oh crap, thought Cecil.
Is that what she really looks like? thought Sami, she's gorgeous!
This isn't good, thought Christian, Oh Harley.......
Harley's eye's widened as she saw everyone staring at her. Her whole body began to shake fearfully. She released Raphael from her gripe. Fear and anxiety rushed through her body.
"No, Oh my Light, n-no......." she mumbled to herself.
Angela was very confused. Her vines retracted back into the seed she held in the palm of her hand. Her gray eyes then turned back to their normal blue color. Harley collapsed to her knees, covering her silver fox ears, and let out a loud scream of fear.
"NOOOOOOO!" Harley screamed, "STOP IT! STOP STARING AT ME!!!!!!! TURN AWAY, PLEASE! PLEASE DON'T LOOK AT ME!!!!!! DON'T LOOK......."
Harley sobbed hysterically. Everyone, except the members of Harley's team, was beyond confused. Christian rushed over to Harley's side and tried to comfort her. The remaining members of Team Undead sighed heavily.
"I knew this would happen," said Cassandra.
"Oh Harley," said Alexia.
"Kanojo wa kono yō ni mieru no wa zan'nendaga, kanojo wa totemo utsukushī," said Aiko. (Translation: "It's always a shame to see her like this. She's so beautiful,").
"Okay, I guess I'll ask," said Sami, "what is her problem?"
The members of Team Undead, minus Christian, faced the others.
"What you guys are seeing is Harley's true form," explained Alexia, "Harley is half fox demon but she's terrified of letting people see her fox demon characteristics, so she always uses a transformation spell to make her look like an ordinary wizard."
"Why would she be so terrified of letting people see her true form?" asked Maya, "she's gorgeous."
"She can't see that," said Cassandra, "when Harley was younger, she was always told that her demon characteristics were hideous and was forced to hide them. Because of that upbringing, she freaks out every time she transforms in public."
"Which also makes it difficult for her to use her demon powers," added Cecil, "too much at once can cause her transform back to her real form."
"Hey Angela!" called out Christian, "I think Harley needs your assistance!"
Angela didn't waste any time hurrying over to Christian and Harley. Christian held Harley close to him as Harley sobbed and Christian rubbed her head, trying to comfort her. Angela took a look at the wounds on Harley's forehead, cheek, and arm. The wounds were swelled, the blood was dried up, and some puss oozed from the arm and forehead wound.
"The cheek wound just needs to be covered up, but the other two wounds look like they're starting to become infected," said Angela, "where did she get these wounds?"
Lily walked over to Angela and knelt next to her.
"Harley was fighting Raphael, so he probably used the same dagger he used to poison me," explained Lily, "Do you think the poison might be in Harley as well?"
"Well actually," Christian spoke up, "even if the poison had gotten into her body, the effects of the poison wouldn't be able to affect Harley. The type of poison that was in both Lily's and Jesse's body only affects humans and wizards."
"Well that's one less problem to worry about," said Angela. Angela turned to Hope. "Hope, could you....."
Before Angela could finish her sentence, Hope tossed the medicine bag over to Angela, knowing that Angela was going to ask for it. Angela caught the bag and opened it. She began by cleaning the cheek wound first before she put medicine on it. After that, she bandaged the wound and moved onto the arm. She cleaned up the dried up blood and some of the puss oozing from the arm wound. Then she placed her hand on the wound and her hand began to glow.
"What are you doing?" asked Christian.
"I'm trying to neutralize the infection with my healing powers," answered Angela, "infections take too long to heal and are a hassle to keep clean. It'll just take a bit of healing mana to heal the infection in no time."
Angela was right, the infection began to clear up in less than a minute and then the wound began to slowly close up until it was completely gone. Angela's hand stopped glowing. Sweat trickled down Angela's face as if she just started a workout. Neutralizing the infection took a little more mana than Angela thought it would, but she didn't let it bother her, especially since Harley had already been through enough with her panic attack. Angela then focused her attention to the wound on Harley's forehead. She first cleaned the wound before putting her hand on Harley's forehead. Angela took a breath in and out, and then her hand began to glow. In less than a minute, the infection started to get neutralized. Angela smiled with relief as she worked, but then suddenly the world around her began to change.
Everything started to blur around Angela and then reconfigured clearly. However, Angela was in an entirely different place now. She looked around to see that no one was around, not even Harley was with her. The place she was in now was someone's small and messy living room, possibly an apartment. Most of the furniture was covered in dirty clothes, empty or half empty snack bags, and some snacks that weren't in the bags. On the floor was whatever dirty clothes and snack bags that weren't on the furniture, a mixture of nonalcoholic and alcoholic beer and wine bottles, and some toys scattered everywhere. Angela stood up off of the dirty floor. She also crinkled and pinched her nose when she smelt the cigarette smoke in the room. How she was able to smell it, she has no clue. Suddenly, she heard a loud smack and crying. Angela turned towards the hallway where an angry woman dragged a two year old crying little girl by her hair into the living room. The woman seemed to be about twenty-five years old and also seemed to be a few months pregnant. The woman had very messy, pixie cut black hair, bright blue eyes, and fair skin. She was dressed sloppily in a light blue maternity shirt that had several food stains on it, wore black yoga pants, and she was barefoot as well. The little girl had a very striking resemblance to Harley's true form. She had the same silver hair, fox ears and tail, and the same gold colored eyes as well. The little girl was wearing messy pink shirt that was covered in stains, a dirty light blue denim skirt, and she was barefoot. The woman threw the crying girl at what was revealed to be the ottoman when the mess cleared and picked up an ashtray that was sitting on an end table. She put a cigarette to her mouth, lit it, and puffed out cigarette smoke.
"You disgusting piece of crap!" the woman yelled at the girl, "I've told you too many times to never let me see that ugly form of yours, haven't I?!"
The little girl faced the woman, still sobbing.
"I-I...I'm soweey, mommy," she said with sniffles, "b..b-but...I-I tink I look p-pweety....."
The woman clenched her fist tightly and threw her ashtray at the little girl.
"I don't give a crap what you think!" yelled the woman, "your form is the ugliest thing I've ever seen and I will not see such a disgusting thing like that in this house or anywhere outside this house!"
Angela clenched her fist tightly in anger.
You think she's disgusting?! Thought Angela angrily, Ever taken a look around your filthy apartment, lady?
The woman then picked up a beer bottle from the floor and came closer to the little girl. She raised the beer bottle angrily and then proceeded to beat the little girl with the beer bottle mercilessly. The little girl cried and screamed in pain as her mother repeatedly smashed the bottle on her.
"And don't you dare call me "mommy" ever again!" yelled the woman, "You call me "mother"! I've told you this before you stupid thing!"
"I'M SOWEEY!" cried the girl, "I'M SOWEEY! I'M SOWEEY!! I'M SOWEEY!!!! I'M SOWEEY!!!!!!!!!"
Angela couldn't stand to watch this anymore! Without any hesitation, Angela picked up one of the bottles that was scattered on the floor and threw the bottle straight at the woman. However, instead of making a direct hit, the bottle went right through the woman and the woman took no notice of the bottle that went right threw her. Angela was now beyond confused. She didn't understand at all how she got here and had no idea who these two were. But then Angela thought about the situation that was going on right now and the events that took place before she got here. Then it suddenly became clear to Angela. It couldn't of been a coincidence that the little girl looked exactly like a younger version of Harley and that the girl's mother was berating her daughter because she believes her daughter is grotesque to look upon in this form. Angela knew now that what she was witnessing was one of Harley's memories, and not just any memory, but a memory that Harley's mother is the reason why Harley believes her true form is ugly. It made sense; Harley's mother despised her daughter's true form and would beat her mercilessly if she saw her daughter's true form anywhere they were. Angela found something like this truly terrible to watch, especially since Angela has always had a great relationship with her late mother. When Angela was little, both of her parents, especially her mother, would always encourage her to be herself and to never try to change herself regardless of what anyone thinks. They would always tell her that being yourself is what makes everyone unique as well as the same in a way. Obviously, Harley was deprived of that kind of parental advice and is why Harley feels the need to hide behind a transformation spell. If Angela would ever see this woman back in the real world, she would definitely beat some sense into her right on sight.
Suddenly, the world around Angela began to blur again. Angela also felt her body being forcibly shook back and forth repeatedly. She could also hear someone calling her name; the calls started out quiet but then got louder and louder. The world around Angela then began to dissolve and became pitch black.
"ANGELA!" Called the voice loudly.
Angela was finally able to regain focus on the world around her. The one who had been shaking her and calling her name was Lily. Everyone else was staring at Angela with curious faces. Angela then noticed that her cheeks were wet; she had been crying in the real world. Angela also noticed that Harley was no longer on the ground and had transformed back to her alternate form. She also took notice of Harley's forehead; the wound was completely healed.
"Angela, are you okay?" asked Lily, "why are you crying?"
Before answering, Angela stood up and wiped the tears off of her cheeks.
"It's nothing," she lied, "I'm fine."
Lily obviously didn't believe her. "But......"
"I said I'm fine!" snapped Angela.
Lily stopped herself from saying another word. She saw Angela's gray eyes and knew that this was not the time to pry answers out of Angela. Angela however, instantly regretted having snapped at Lily. She didn't mean to, she just didn't feel like talking about what she had just saw. Angela's eyes turned back to blue and she let out a heavy sigh.
"I'm sorry, Lily. I didn't mean to snap at you," Angela apologized, "I'll talk about it with you guys later. As for now, I should tend to your arm wound."
"Actually Angela," said Lily, "I'd really rather we get out of this tomb first. I'll be fine the rest of the way now that the poison is out of me. I'm just done with this stupid tomb and want to get out of here ASAP."
Everyone nodded in agreement that they all wanted to get out of that tomb, and the quicker they got out, the better.
"Alright," said Angela, "so where do we go from here?"
As if somewhat fortuitous, every member of Team Undead and The Magical Elements began to glow, and vanish into thin air. The only ones who didn't vanish were Gale, Hope, Jordan, Jacob, and the members of Team Dark Deceivers.
"Lady Samantha!" cried Jacob with panic.
"The Gamemasters have summoned them," said Hope, "and not a moment too sooner or later than I predicted. Everything is going to become much more interesting now."
