Chapter Fourteen: Jesse and Sabrina

Jesse's world has turned upside down, literally. He was restrained to a chair and laying on the floor. He observed his surroundings, which wasn't much since he could only see the door. He tried to break free of his restraints, but struggling seemed to only make the straight jacket tighter and stronger.

This is obviously Chaos's doing, he thought, that dream must have been a diversion so she can kidnap me! I swear if I ever-........

Suddenly, he heard a voice laughing. A vortex of sand appeared and blew away. A woman who had bronzed skin, long golden blonde hair in long pigtails and blue eyes appeared when the vortex of sand was blown away. She wore black robes and boots and a black snake was perched on her shoulder.

"I'm afraid Chaos didn't kidnap you," said the woman, "I did."

Jesse was shocked and speechless; he didn't know how this woman knew about Chaos. "How did y-......."

"You talk in your sleep," said the woman.

"And snore," hissed the snake.

Jesse head butted the snake and sent it flying backwards.

"Seems my observations were correct about you," said the woman, "I would describe you as a serious, hotheaded, antisocial lone wolf with a secret that you know your friends will shun you for if they knew. Let's just say I once did so dirty work for Chaos. I know a lot about Chaos. If her body wasn't sealed away, she would be able to cause great pain and madness to this world. However, she is able to torment mortals mentally. She seems to have quite an interest in you. Could it be that she has something planned for you?"

"Just who are you and what do you want with me?!" Jesse yelled, "Did she put you up to this?! Are you two in an alliance?! Tell me!"

The woman pulled the chair back up and shushed Jesse.

"I would be a little quieter if I were you," whispered the woman, "you'll wake the dragon."

The woman pointed to the sleeping dragon behind Jesse. The dragon was completely black with gray claws, gray under its wings and a gray underbelly. Jesse gulped. He was trapped in a room with a dragon and a possibly psychotic evil woman with a creepy snake familiar. The sad thing is this was ten times better for him than being with Chaos. The only difference is that thing is a psychotic, cruel beast that would eat you alive in a heartbeat and the other is a dragon.

"And anyway," continued the woman, "I serve no one other than myself! Yes I have done some work for Chaos in the past, but that's ancient history. Besides, I'm just using you as bait. I have a job for your friends to do and they wouldn't just accept the job, so they needed some motivation to make them do my bidding. So I figured, why not keep one of them hostage to get them here? You were the only one not sleeping in a tent, so you've made my job all the more easier."

"Sabrina smart," hissed the snake.

"Sabrina......" Muttered Jesse, "Wait, you're the witch that Angela told us about, the one who didn't care if innocent people got hurt! You're the one who let the griffin loose!"

Sabrina grinned. "Guilty," she said, "my little creation can get pretty wildly at times. And it's not like I was the only one who didn't care if people got hurt. I recall seeing you do absolutely nothing to help your little friend when she was in danger, seems to me you're getting more and more like her."

"Shut up!" Yelled Jesse, "I'm nothing like her! And I don't care about Angela or her pathetic friends! If they get eaten by this dragon it's not my problem!"

One of the metal legs on Jesse's chair suddenly snapped in half and the chair fell to the left. Sabrina laughed.

"I will assume that you are lying," she said.

"Jesse liar," hissed Zephyros.

Jesse flashed an angry look at Zephyros. "I will skin you alive and hang you on my dormitory's wall," he threatened.

Zephyros shrank back in fear.

Sabrina snickered. "Like I said...."

"Stop it!" Yelled Jesse, "I'm nothing like her!"

"Ah yes, it seems your more like Light then Chaos," said Sabrina, "when you lied about not caring about your friends, the truth hidden beneath that lie is that you care about your friends. You just don't want anything bad to happen to them so you pretend to think they are not your friends. I can also sense you will do anything to protect many innocent lives, your friends for example. Just like Light."

"I am nothing like those two old hags, I control my own mind and my own life!" Yelled Jesse.

"Which is something you won't have for very long," said Sabrina, "if the dragon doesn't kill you, Chaos probably will. I wish I could torment you all day, but I have to watch your friends' progress. Don't go anywhere, not that you have a choice!"

The witch as she disappeared in another sand vortex with her snake familiar. Jesse remained silent; he had to be quiet considering he was stuck in a room with a black dragon. What puzzled him was that there was a black dragon here to begin with. Black dragons only live in a different dimension that was practically engulfed with magic. The magic there was as plentiful as water and air, which made it a great place for the black dragons to live since they devour magic.

Devour Magic! Thought Jesse, oh no! If they come anywhere near me, they'll be dragon chow!

Jesse sighed. "I've got to find a way out of here before they find me," he whispered.
