Chapter Four: Treacherous Train Tracks

The train was getting faster and faster with each passing second. Mindy, Cindy and the silent boy have begun fighting with Barry, Angela, Sami, Lily, Ellen, and Maya. Angela conjured a light bow and arrows and began shooting multiple light arrows at Mindy, but she dodged every arrow that came at her way. Angela lost track of her for a bit until she felt quick jabs on her arms and she fell to the ground. Behind her was Mindy. Angela felt numbness in her body, she could barely stand, but she forced herself to fight through it. She tried to cast another spell, but it backfired and blew her across the train.

"What? Why can't I cast a spell?" asked Angela, shocked.

Barry fell to the floor when Cindy jabbed him in the back. "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that not only are these twins acrobatics experts but they also the points in the body where magical energy flows and they can block it," said Barry, "if you're the kind of wizard that casts spells with your hands, then you're in deep trouble. If your the kind of wizard who casts spells with a wand, you can do some magic but not very powerful magic. The effect wears off after an hour."

Cindy knocked Lily to the ground and quickly jabbed her in the back.

"But by then, you will either be dead or I the dungeon depending on our lady's word," said Cindy.

Angela was confused. "Wait, our lady? I thought you were the Dark One's students," she said, "who is our lady?"

Cindy and Mindy both snickered.

"Why, Lady Chaos of course," said Cindy, "our dark mistress. She is one of the most powerful wizards in time itself. She is madness and insanity itself, she is darkness itself, she is chaos!"

"We get it. She's the source of darkness and evil and blah blah blah!" Lily mocked.

Mindy's eyes flashed with anger. She furiously stomped on Lily's back.

"Never insult our mistress! Ever!" yelled Mindy.

"The point is that all of you will meet an unfortunate ending depending on our mistress's choice," said Cindy, "she could kill you right away, she could torture you or she could torture you and then kill you! Or maybe four of you will get lucky and Lady Chaos will just kill the boy and the forest fire girl!"

She pointed at Sami, who was trying to hit the silent boy with a fireball.

"Why me? I mean I understand Barry, but what did I do?" Sami asked.

"You're obviously the only heir to the throne of the Fire Empire," said Cindy.

Barry looked confused, but the girls decided to ignore it for now and explain later.

"So what if you kill me?" said Sami, who finally hit the silent boy with a fireball, "Even if you did kill me, my father will still be in power. Plus he's still young, he can have more kids......unless you mean-...."

Mindy nodded. "Your father will be easy to dispose of," snickered Mindy, "with you two gone, the Fire Empire will have no ruler and will descend into chaos and madness! Now tell me girl, which would be a more painful death for your father, water or ice?"

Sami's hair began to move like a wild fire. Her eyes flickered orange like a burning flame. Her body became engulfed with fire. Flames sprouted out of her hands.

Awesome, thought Ellen, it's demon time!

Oh no, thought Angela, it's demon time!

"Don't you talk about my father like that!" growled Sami in a demonic voice.

Mindy and Cindy didn't look intimidated.

"Mindy, block her," said Cindy.

Mindy did a back flip over Sami and jabbed her in the back. The flames didn't disappear. Mindy and Cindy looked shocked.

"Madame Chaos....she said she was the daughter of the Fire King and a fire wizard," said Mindy, "but our lady didn't say....."

She was interrupted when Sami started shooting multiple fireballs at Mindy. Mindy had a hard time dodging the fireballs, one of them eventually hit her in the face and sent her across the other side of the train and she almost fell off the train. Mindy looked horrified while Sami looked furious. If looks could kill, Mindy would have been burning to death right now. Cindy snuck up behind Sami and grabbed her. Sami's body temperature was intensely hot, so she burned Cindy but Cindy endured it. Cindy dragged Sami to the hole in the train that was filled with water and forced Sami's head under the water. Sami was in intense pain while she was under the water, however she was able to fight through the pain and grab Cindy with her legs and throw her. Sami arose from the water as soon as Cindy was forced to let go of her. Her face was drained of its natural color and looked slightly bluish. Sami was no longer in her demon state and her hair was wet and still. The silent boy appeared behind her and grabbed her. Sami tried to summon a fireball but she was unable to because her body wasn't warm enough and she was too wet and she couldn't do any magic because she blocked. The girls and Barry tried to help her, but the silent boy raised a black knife under her chin. Cindy and Mindy rushed over to the boy.

"One wrong move, and her life will end in one minute," threatened Mindy.

No one moved. "What do we do now?" asked Barry quietly.

The girls shrugged their shoulders. "I guess we have no choice," said Maya, "we can't let them kill Sami. We have to surrender."

Cindy and Mindy smiled until they heard creaking sounds. An ominous wind blew.

"What was that?" asked Lily.

The train suddenly stopped. Everyone except the silent boy showed scared expressions on their faces.

"GET OUT!" shouted a loud voice.

The girls and Barry freaked out, even Cindy and Mindy seemed scared.

"Um, Raphael, please tell me that was you," said Cindy frightened.

The silent boy shook his head silently.

"Um, Barry that story you told us earlier.....that story was made up....right?" Asked Ellen.

Barry took a few seconds and shrugged his shoulders. "I-I guess...." He answered nervously.

The girls glared at him with angry looks.

"YOU GUESS?!" They yelled.

"I-I heard the story two years ago from my friend Troy," said Barry, "I thought he was telling a stupid ghost story, I didn't think it was real because the ghost hasn't bothered any of the Wizards who used it. But if I remember correctly, the guy who was the conductor had his train beat up by gangsters as a prank and after the conductor died it was said that he would kill anyone who damages the train and there's a big hole in the roof so......"

They heard more creaking. Raphael let go of Sami and joined hands with Cindy and Mindy.

"We shall retreat for now, but mark my words this is not over," warned Cindy and Mindy, "we will be back another time. That's a promise!"

They disappeared. The creaking sounds grew louder and crashes were heard.

"GET OUT! LEAVE THIS PLACE OR I WILL KILL YOU ALL!" screeched the ghost.

"Here's a question for you, Barry," said Sami, "if this place is haunted, than why do they let wizards use it?!"

"The story said the conductor would let people on his train as long as they didn't break or damage anything!" said Barry.

"I WILL KILL YOU ALL!" yelled the ghost.

"Let's get out of here!" screamed Angela.

The girls and Barry climbed off the train and headed down the railroad tracks. In hindsight though, this seemed like a stupid thing to do because the train started moving again and was heading towards them fast. The gang ran at full speed down the railroad tracks. The train was speeding behind them.

"Why did we take this crazy train?!" screamed Lily, as she ran, "I'm going to kill you for this Barry!"

"I think the train is going to take care of that," said Maya.

"Please don't say that!" screamed Angela.

"Why does this train want to kill us anyway?!" yelled Sami, "we're not the ones who made that hole in the ceiling or got on the train without paying!"

"I don't know, just keep running!" Yelled Barry.

The gang continued to run from the crazy train until Maya tripped and fell. The rest of them stopped.

"Maya!" They screamed with panic.

The train grew closer to Maya. It seemed all over for Maya until she yelled "Stop!" The train hits the breaks and stopped. Everyone was speechless.

"What did you do?" Asked Ellen.

Maya shrugged. "I don't know," she said, she faced the train, "Um, leave us alone?"

The train began to drive in reverse, driving further away from the gang.

"Whoa, that was awesome! How did you do it?" Angela asked.

Maya shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe I have the power to control trains."

"Maybe not trains," said Barry, "but maybe you can control the dead since that train was possessed by the ghost of that conductor!"

"Well, I am a death wizard, so I guess anything's possible," said Maya, "but we still got a LONG walk from here."

Everyone groaned.

"I want to go to sleep," whined Sami, "I'm tired. Fighting monsters and wizards kept me up all night."

"Well, I guess if we want to get to sleep faster," yawned Ellen, "we better start walking."
