Jade picked her head up hearing Seto groan. She stood from her spot beside him, looking at him.

"Hey, how you feeling Seto?" She asked. Seto's eyes open, his left eye was uncovered, he looked at Jade. He closed his eye.

"Tired, w-what...happened?" He mumbled. She smiled a bit.

"You got hurt pretty bad, but the healers fixed you back up, luckily Master Audra missed your right eye, but you had a nasty cut on your forehead and on your cheek. The council has given you a three week leave to recover, and I'm tasked with taking care of you." She said. Seto's eye opened, looking at her.

"What." He mumbled. She loses her smile.

"Brice told me what has been going on with you, how you refuse to take a break when you are injured, how you had a panic attack and why they had to knock you out just to get you into the infirmary tent. Seto." Jade said as her eyes soften. "I'm not some little kid who doesn't know how to control their magic—"

"If y-you had too, would y-you kill s-someone, Jade?" Seto asked making her stop talking. She stared at him, Seto looked away. "Knew t-that would catch y-you off guard." She hesitated, thinking.

"If I had to that is." She lied. Seto shakes his head a bit, looking at her.

"No...Don't try to l-lie to me, Jade. I k-know you too well." Seto said. Jade looked away, Seto smiled a little at her. "Hey, that isn't a b-bad thing. Y-You're a g-good person, m-more then w-what I deserved t-the last f-five years." Jade smiled, looking at him.

"You are too, Seto," Jade said.

"I don't kn—"

"You are, don't talk like that. I wouldn't be your apprentice if you weren't." Jade said. Seto smiled a bit, he winced.

"Arggh." He groaned as his hand touched his head, she moved his hand a bit.

"Try not to touch your right eye, what's going on? You okay?" Jade said.

"J-Just an h-headache, I-I'm fine." He mumbled. A healer pushed the curtain back, putting it back to cut them off from the rest of the ward. She looked at him.

"Hey, no. No." She said walking over, she gently took his hand off his head. "Don't touch your face." The healer looked at Jade. "Concussion with loss of consciousness, that's bad but he hasn't displayed any other symptoms since he got here yesterday. So I think he is good to go, but he needs rest to recover, we're gonna keep in here for another hour, just to keep an eye on him." Jade nods.

"Okay." She said. Seto's eye looked at her.

"So she's my conscious now—" Jade looked at him.

"Yes, I am." She said before looking back at the healer. "Thank you so much for helping him." The healer nods and smiles.

"No problem. I'll be back to check on you in fifteen minutes." She said before leaving. Jade looked at Seto.

"You were declared incompetent in the front lines infirmary, so it falls to me to make the medical decisions for you since I'm your apprentice." She said. Seto looked away, thinking. Jade touches his arm. "You really scared me, you know, so can you please just listen to me?" Seto hesitated, he looked at her, he nods a bit.

"Alright." He said making her smile.

"Thank you. Now rest up, I have to get to class, I'll come back in an hour, I promise—" Seto smiled a bit at her.

"Jade, can you please stop acting like I'm dying or was close to death? I k-know you're worried but I wasn't that bad. It was just my eye, I'm a-alright." He said. Jade nods a bit.

"Sorry, just...I'm just worried about you is all." She said.

"I know, but I'm g-gonna be fine. So go to c-class." He said. She nods.

"Bye."

"Bye," Seto said as she left. Seto rested his head back, he winced again. "Arghhh." He touched his head as the healer comes up to him.

"How bad are your headaches?" She asked worriedly.

"Just enough to the p-point of annoyance. They aren't bad." Seto said.

"Now are you lying to me or not? But you did hit your head, I'm trying to figure out if you might have a subarachnoid hemorrhage or not." She said. Seto looked at her, confused.

"A subara-what? Can you speak English, please?" Seto asked.

"I'm trying to figure out if your brain is bleeding or not. And yes, you can die from that and it is not a good way to die. You swear to me that your headaches aren't bad?" She asked. Seto nods, lowering his hand.

"Yeah, they come and go."

"Do you have double vision or is your neck stiff?" She asked me. Seto shakes his head.

"No, now you're just scaring me," Seto said. She smiles a bit at him, losing it.

"Sorry, just what to make sure you're okay. But if the light starts to hurt your eyes or your headaches worsen, you tell us right away, got it?" She asked. Seto nods.

"Way to scare him." A voice spoke as the curtain was pulled back, Seto smiled a bit

"Hey, Tara." He said. Taralynn smiles at him.

"Hey, Master Harvey. How are you feeling?" She asked walking beside him. Seto lifted an eyebrow up at her.

"Master Harvey huh, you never—"

"Just wanted to make sure you knew your own name, Seto." She said before she looks at the healer. "And don't believe one thing this man says, he's a known liar when he's the patient because he's afraid of needles." The healer chuckled and Seto looked at Taralynn.

"I am not--" Taralynn put her hand up in front of Seto's face, shutting him up.

"Your argument is invalid and doesn't matter right now. So are you telling her the truth or are you lying to her because this is the time to be honest or you can drop dead due to your brain bleeding because you were lying to us." Taralynn said. Seto stared at her.

"I'm telling her the truth," Seto said. Taralynn stared at him for a few moments, she nods as she looked at the healer, lowering her hand.

"Okay, that's all I wanted to hear. He's fine..ish." She said. The healer leaves. Seto looked at her.

"I didn't ask for interrogation from you, Taralynn," Seto said to her. Taralynn looked at him. Taralynn Flux, otherwise called Tara, Elitist Master Phil's apprentice, soon to be a graduate and a Master herself. She has dark brown eyes with brown short hair and has a necklace around her throat with a green gem on it. She sighs a bit, turning more towards him.

"I know, out of line, just worried is all. I just got back from Laenadur--" Seto looked at her.

"Why were you there?" He asked her.

"No reason--"

"You promised Phil you wouldn't go to the front lines until at least two years after graduation," Seto said. Taralynn nodded, smiling.

"I know, I know. And I haven't been sent to the front lines, but, Jade might, you do know that."

"Not if I can help it," Seto grumbled. Taralynn shakes her head.

"No way, you nearly lost your eye, Seto, you aren't going back out there. And I will tell them to strap you to this bed if that is what it will take--" Seto narrowed his eye at her.

"Your threats don't scare me, Tara," Seto said. Tara nods.

"I will surround your bed with syringes," Tara said making Seto's eyes widen a bit. She smiled. "I'm kidding...mostly. You need to realize that Jade needs you just as much as you need her. It's like a parent in a fire, make sure you can breathe first and then take care of your kid because if something happens to you then what's gonna happen to them. I know you're still torn up about the Jandine break up--" Seto looked away from her.

"Stop." Seto snapped.

"And I know she met a lot to you, but you need to face reality, Seto. She isn't the girl you fell in love with anymore, you can't change her back, she's too far gone." She said. Seto looked at her, anger in his eye.

"I said stop, Tara," Seto said.

"Phil told me how many times she put you in the hospital if you don't fight back or at least defend yourself against her, she's going to kill you," Taralynn said.

"Get out." Seto snapped at her. Taralynn didn't move at first. Seto's hand gripped the bed sheet. "Get out, Tara!" Taralynn looked down, not looking at him.

"I'm sorry, but you know I'm right. I'll see you later, Seto." She said turning away, Seto sat up.

"Wait...no." He said as she stopped. Seto looked down at his hands. "Sorry, just...can we not talk about Jandine, please? I rather have a nice conversation with you, I could really use a pick me up right now." Taralynn looked at him, she nods, sitting on the foot of his bed.

"Yeah, it's fine. So, how's war?" She asked. Seto's eye looks at her, not speaking. "I'm joking, Seto, lighten up a bit, you aren't on the front lines, loosen up, okay?" The healer came back, Tara looked at her.

"So looks like you are free to go, we can remove the bandages but keep the stitches on your face." The healer said. Taralynn stands up, helping the healer remove the bandage covering Seto's right eye, the healer holds her hand over his eye. "Open your eye slowly, okay? I'm gonna remove my hand now." She removed her hand, Seto opens his right eye, his vision blurry but cleared. Taralynn looked at him.

"So...it that gonna scar?" She asked the healer. The healer shakes her head.

"No, no, we will be able to heal it fully once the swelling goes down." The healer said. She looked at Seto. "So? Can you see?" Seto nods, closing both of his eyes.

"Yeah." He mumbled. He opened them both, looking at Taralynn. "What? Do I look stupid?" Taralynn crosses her arms at him.

"I mean...you look stupid on a daily basis, so that's a pointless question really. But no, you look fine, you look badass now with stitches on your face." Taralynn said. Seto rolled his eyes. The healer looked at Seto, losing her smile.

"Look at me." She said as she set her clipboard down. Seto looked at her, her hand grabbed his chin, her eyes widen a bit. Seto tensed up, his eyes widening.

"I can't see anything!" Seto said. Taralynn stepped towards them seeing blood streak down his cheek, the healer grabbed gauze, putting it against Seto's right eye, tilting his head up.

"Don't touch your eyes, don't touch your eyes! Need help over here now! Now!"
