Brice pushed the curtain back, seeing Seto asleep with a bandage over his right eye, he looks at the healer.

"I was just about to leave when Tara told me his eyes started bleeding, is he—"

"Mr. Solace, I know you're upset." The healer said coming over to him, she touches his arm. "But let's take this somewhere else, okay? He needs to rest." Brice looked at the healer and then nods. Brice followed the healer away from Seto. She stopped near the doors, turning to him. "I'm not gonna lie to you when I say that it looked way worse than it actually is." Brice was about to question her when her words processed.

"Wait, then—"

"That was external from the cut on his cheek, his eye wasn't bleeding, thank notch. But it is bleeding internally." He said. Brice stepped back.

"Is that bad?" He asked. She shrugged her shoulders.

"Yes and no. The good news is that it isn't fatal. It won't kill him but it will have a very taxing effect on him." She said. Brice crossed his arms, interested now.

"Taxing? Taxing how?"

"He complained of it hurting, which is alarming since that is not something that is common. Do you know if he has any history of a bleeding disorder or even high blood pressure?" She asked. Brice shakes his head.

"Not that I know of. He's gonna be okay, right?" He asked. She nods.

"Yeah, he's going to be fine. It's good the council gave him those three weeks off since he's gonna need it. I would like to keep him here to monitor him but his eye bleeding internally isn't a good enough case to keep the bed for him." She said. Brice uncrossed his arms, shocked a bit.

"I'm sorry, but his eye is bleeding internally, how is that not a good enough cause?" He asked.

"It isn't fatal, we only keep patients who have major to fatal injuries. We only kept Master Azdel here for so long because of his blood loss and the fact he kept slipping in and out of unconsciousness. I can keep him here for about two more days, but after that, he's gonna have to be discharged." She said. The doors opened, Jade rushing in.

"Where's Seto?!" She asked panicked. Brice grabbed her arms. She looked at him. "Is he okay?" Brice nods.

"He's fine, this is just a false alarm is all. He's fine." Brice said letting go of her arms. Jade nods a bit, she looks at the healer.

"What happened?" She asked. As the healer told Jade, Brice went back over to Seto, just to check up on him. Brice pushed the curtain aside, looking in and saw Seto still sleeping soundly. Brice smiled a bit, walking beside Seto. He had a bandage over his right eye. 'I hate seeing him in a hospital bed...but at least he's gonna be okay.' He thought to himself. Jade walked to the other side of Seto, looking at him.

"He almost gave me a heart-attack." She said making Brice smile a bit at her.

"Yeah, same here. But he's okay." He said. She nods.

"Yeah, I need to get back to class now." She said. Brice nods, she looks at Seto. "Bye, don't have any other health problems while I'm gone." She left, leaving Brice and Seto alone. Brice sat down in a chair, waiting, waiting for Seto to wake up. Which he knew could be a while, but he wanted to talk to him, so he waited.

Brice woke up hearing a voice, he opened his eyes, seeing two figures. He blinked a few times to clear his vision, seeing a blanket was laid on him. He sat up in his chair, looking at the figure.

"Warchief Ashton?" Brice questioned. The figure turned to him.

"Did we wake you? Sorry, Brice. And you know that you don't need to add the Warchief part, just Ashton." Ashton said. Brice looked at Seto and back at Ashton. Warchief Elitist Master Ashton Darkmore, a mouthful his name is, but he earned the titles. He's the warchief for the light mages, but most people say he could pass as a dark mage just by his looks. He has two red tattoos on his face, on one his left cheek and the other going over his right eye, dressed in dark colors with piercing red eyes, he has tattoos on his arms and chest as well, dark red ones due to his magic.

Seto groaned, the healer looked at him, going around Ashton and by his side. Brice stood up rubbing his tired eyes.

"How long was I asleep?" Brice mumbled.

"Few hours, it's 8 in the morning." The healer said touching Seto's arms. Seto's left eye opened as Matt and Tom came.  Brice looked at all of them.

"Ashton," Tom said holding a letter out to him. Ashton took it, opening it and reading it to himself. Brice saw Ashton's eyes widen for a second before he closed the letter.

"Well, I have to go—"

"What did it say?" Brice asked. Ashton glanced at Brice before walking pass Tom and Matt. Brice looked at Tom. "Well?"

"Something bad happened at the front lines," Tom said. Brice turned towards Tom.

"Are Phil and James okay? How about Shayde?" Brice asked nervously. Tom shakes his head as he crossed his arms.

"We don't know, but don't tell Tara or Byron about this, especially Tara. Her graduation is in a few days—"

"Which is why you should tell her if something happened to Phil, she has to know," Brice said. Matt looked at Brice.

"We don't know what happened, it may be an update like our line was pushed back or we pushed them back. We don't know." Matt explained. Seto groaned, the healer grabbing his wrist when he tried to touch his head.

"Don't, don't." She said. Seto let out a deep breath, groaned as his headache worsen. The healer moved Seto's arms back down on the bed. "You're gonna have a headache, but it will pass with time." Seto turned his head a bit, she moves his hair from his left eye. "You hungry? Thirsty? You haven't eaten or drank water since you got here."

"Yeah," Seto mumbled. The healer nods a bit.

"Okay, we'll get you some food and water. You rest right now, okay? No touching your face, got it?" The healer asked.

"Yeah," Seto mumbled again. The healer looked at the boys. Brice met her eyes.

"I'll get him some food, I know what he likes. Any restrictions at all?" Brice asked. She nods a bit.

"Yeah, just get him soup, for now, his fever was coming back when we were working on his eye. So just soup and water. We don't want to give him something he can't handle right now." She said. Brice nods, he leaves with Tom and Matt.

"We can get it--" Brice shook his head.

"No, you two are probably busy with the academy, I can take care of him," Brice said before he walked ahead of the two, he went into the dining hall, tables were set up here and there, filled with students who are eating lunch. Food appears on the tables, but there are lunch ladies in the back for people who have allergies or on diets. So Brice went to the back of the room, he went up to one of the ladies.

"Oh, hello Brice, what do you want today?" She asked. Brice looked at her.

"Seto is really sick and injured right now," Brice said making the conversations around him cease. The lady nods a bit, losing her smile.

"Okay, what did the healers say?" She asks.

"That he needs to eat and drink water. Can you make soup for him and get some water?" Brice asked her. She nods, smiling.

"Of course, I know just what to make him. It will only be about five minutes. So just wait and we'll get everything for him." She said. Brice smiled.

"Thank you," Brice said as the lady turned from him, starting to cook. Brice felt someone tap on his shoulder, he turned around, looking at apprentices.

"He got hurt on the front lines, didn't he?" One asked. Brice looks at them and nods.

"Yeah, he did, but the healers say he's gonna be okay. He just needs time is all." Brice said.

"How's Wag?" Another asked. Brice smiled a bit, recognizing the voice as Master Wag's apprentice.

"He's fine, Aleki. I mean he doesn't really tell me otherwise, he barely talks to me." Brice said turning to her. She smiles a him, relieved.

"Thank notch, I know he is strong but I can't help but worry about him. And I know he wouldn't talk to you, I'm just worried about him." She said. Brice shrugs his shoulders.

"That's normal, he is in a warzone right now, I don't exactly blame you. The elites are strong, but even they have limits and weaknesses, like Seto, he wasn't taking care of himself again, that's mostly why he is in such bad condition." He said. Aleki smiles a bit.

"That's typical, Seto. He worries too much for others and never thinks about his own health. It's one of the reasons why apprentices' like him so much. How's Jade taking it? I haven't seen her for a while." She said. Brice leaned against the wall, looking at her.

"I don't know, she is always with him, she wants to take care of him but she has classes of her own. I know she just wants to help her master feel better, but I know Seto, I know he wouldn't want her to miss classes for him." Brice said. She nods, agreeing.

"Yeah, she is only a fifth year after all," Aleki said.

"And you're a sixth year, there isn't much a difference." An apprentice said. Brice looked at them.

"Aleki here has been living with the Fyre Brothers for years, so there is kinda a difference. she was James' apprentice before her apprenticeship started. She is a sixth year, but she is basically an eighth-year student in her experience." Brice said to them. Before the conversation could continue, but the lunch lady set a container and a bottle with water on the counter beside Brice. Brice turned to them. "So? What did you make?" She smiles.

"His favorite, but also a good soup to have for flus or colds. Cream of tomato." She said. Brice smiled a bit.

"How did you know it was his favorite?" Brice asked making the lady lose her smile.

"Master Jandine, he was sick and she asked me how to make it for him to help him feel better." The lady said. Brice looked away, his hand resting on the container.

"Right." He mumbled. He looked at her. "But thanks for the soup." She smiles at him.

"No problem, I hope he feels better. If you need any more, I can whip up another batch quick." She said. Brice nods at her as he picked up the container, the bottle, and a spoon. Aleki left when him, she grabbed Brice's arm, stopping him.

"Wait, Brice." She said. Brice looked at her.

"Yeah?"

"You sure that Wag was alright when you last saw him?" She asked. Brice nods, turning more towards her, now concerned.

"I mean, he seemed fine to me, he seemed just like his usual self. Why? Is something the matter?" He asked.

"I know the athar ritual altered his behavior and such, but something just doesn't seem right about him. He's been acting unlike himself lately. I know I haven't seen him in a long time but I—" Brice nods now understanding.

"I'll check in with him, see what's going on....or maybe ask Phil to see what is going on because James scares me sometimes," Brice said making her smile.

"You aren't alone, the first years tend to come to me when they need to talk to him about something because they are too scared to confront him themselves." She said making Brice chuckle.

"He isn't the most approachable person, Aleki." He said. She loses her smile.

"I know, but can you keep an eye on him for me? I'm worried about him." She said. Brice nods, losing his smile too.

"Yeah, I'll keep an eye on him, I'll tell Phil you're concerned too, he is with James more than I am," Brice said making her smile.

"Thank you, I need to get to class, but thanks Brice and tell Seto I hope he feels better soon. I heard he was in rough shape." She said before she left him. Brice went to the infirmary wing, he went to Seto, pushing the curtain back and pulling it back in place, he set the container on the table next to Seto's bed, he opened the container. Seto moved his head towards it instantly.

"Is t-that what I t-think it is?" He mumbled. Brice smiled, he nods.

"Yeah, cream of tomato and it was made just for you." He said. He set the bottle on the table too. The healer looked at the soup and she smiled.

"That's perfect, I need to go check on another patient, so you got this?" She asked. Brice looked at her.

"Of course, I've taken care of him when he was sick before. I know what to do." He said. She looked at Seto, touching his arm.

"Remember, no touching your face, and eat slow, your fever is starting to return, so take it slow." She said before she left. Seto looked at Brice, Brice sat on Seto's bed beside him, pulling the table over to them.

"Alright, you need help or can you do it?" Brice asked him. Seto looked away from Brice, not answering, Brice looked at him. "Seto, I don't mind helping you if you need it. Can you sit up at all?" Seto shakes his head a bit.

"No...that m-makes me nauseous." He mumbled. Brice picks up the spoon.

"Okay, you want water or soup?"

"Brice, y-you don't have to f-feed me," Seto said looking at him. Brice pulls the container more towards himself, putting the spoon in it.

"I know, but you are in bad shape, I don't mind helping you. Really. Water or soup?" Brice asked. Seto hesitated, thinking.

"Water." He mumbled. Brice opened the bottle as the curtain was pulled back.

"You're awake." A voice spoke. Brice looked over his shoulder at Jade. Jade looks at the soup.

"Are you feeding him?" She asked. Brice nods as he poured the water into a cup, looking at Seto.

"Think you can hold a cup or do I need to help you?" Brice asked.

"Let m-me," Seto mumbled. Brice put the cup in Seto's hand, seeing Seto's hand shaking, Brice put the bottle on the table, his hands went around the cup, steading it.

"Let me." He mumbled. His eyes glanced at Jade. "Jade, I got this, you have another class to go to--"

"Yeah, but I can help." She said as Brice tilted the cup up a bit against Seto's bottom lip.

"I know, but this is more of a one person job, I can handle it. That enough?" Brice asked.

"Yeah," Seto said as Brice took the cup away. Brice looked at Jade.

"It's fine, you go to class. I can handle this on my own." Brice said picking up the container. Jade looked at Seto, Seto met her eyes. He gives her a little smile.

"It's o-okay, Jade. G-Go to c-class." He stuttered. Jade stared at him, her hand gripped the footboard for a moment, she nods.

"Okay, I'll be back in an hour or two." She said before she leaves.
