I love this time of the year.

The bakery is full of great flavours, well, actually, it always smells great (not that I'm bragging, but Betty and I are very, very good at our job, we love what we do and that's why our pastries are always delicious).

But as Christmas approaches, the aroma of cookies, whose recipe I recently perfected, fills the bakery with a special scent of sweetness and satisfaction. This sweet aroma of sugar, vanilla and orange zest takes me directly to the most wonderful holiday - Christmas and makes me feel just magical. Orange cookies are our specialty this year and obviously people like them because the orders have been pouring in since the beginning of December. And now we have twice, and maybe three times more work than usual. Which is wonderful! I am excited and happy. But it is also the most inopportune moment for distractions, but who asks me what I think, right?!

Nevertheless, things happen because they just have to happen. Without notice and without caring that is super busy now and that we need to concentrate on work so to be able to fulfill all the orders without unnecessary chaos.

And yet, will it be a real week before Christmas if there is no chaos and unexpected surprises!? No, of course not! 

But don't get all grumpy now. 

Oh, come on! What would be the week before Christmas without some adventures, and a little chaos?! And not everything that has started with a little chaos leads to something bad. Sometimes things have to go wrong in order to get right.

Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. After all I'm speaking from experience! 😉
