Prologue

"Milady?" A voice frantically begs as knocks pound upon your door, forcing you awake. You blink rapidly from your dream and whisper, "Come in."

Your butler Li bursts into the room, panting. "Princess (Y/N). It's urgent."

You quickly get out of bed at Li's tone. "What happened?"

Li's eyes were solemn, as if he could tell that his message was going to destroy you. "Your father.... He... He's dead."

Your eyes widen. "No..."

Li nods remorsefully. "Unfortunately so.... He passed away during the meeting with King Arth."

"No no no no-" You deny. "Tell me it isn't so!"

Li doesn't respond. Tears blur your eyes, and you begin to sob.

"Lady (Y/N), I'm so-" Li began, but he was cut off when you threw yourself at him, wailing. He freezes, then slowly raises his hands up and hugs you, patting your back soothingly.

This had to be a nightmare.

There was no way that your father would just die, leaving you and your sisters behind.

After a few minutes, you stop crying long enough to ask, "Who?"

Li holds you closer. "Gula."

This unleashed a new set of tears, leaving Li trapped. He slowly moved so that he was sitting on your bed and you were on his lap, sobbing into his jacket.

"Why is Princess (Y/N) crying?" A voice grumbled. You were unable to see who entered, but that voice could only match one person.

Li scowled. "Not now, Yoshi. Go get Ares and Clara."

"Did you remind her of Elluki?" The blond accused.

If your tears were a storm, they became a tempest upon hearing Elluki's name.

Elluki, the Mage of Beelzenia.

The man you loved.

The man who abandoned you.

"No. You did," Li hissed. "The Emperor is dead, and then you had to remind our mistress of her failed romance."

"Oh s***," Yoshi swore. " I did-"

"Just get the other bodyguards and let them know... We have a long day ."

You could hear your bodyguard leave, trying his best not to panic. Li ran his hand through your hair, soothing you.

"Don't worry (Y/N)...... Shhhhh....."

Your eyes, heavy from all the sobbing, begin to close. You attempt to stay awake, but you trapped in sleep's embrace. You drift off as Li began to sing.

"Lu li la la la, la lu li la la la...."

Reina: Okay, initially Elluki was going to reject (Y/N) but I decided against it.

Also, here are some of the other characters that will appear:

Yoshi - YOHIOloid, your bodyguard

Li - Yuezheng Longya, your butler

Ursula - UNI, one of your advisors

Mercedes - MAIKA, your best friend and another advisor

Genevieve - GALACO, your younger sister

Katarina - kokone, your youngest sister

Clara - Clara, Genevieve's bodyguard.

Ares - ARSLOID, Katarina's bodyguard.

And of course, Luki as Elluki Clockworker.

As a note, YOHIOloid nearly became Yuri. I thought Yoshi was funnier though.
