Chapter 14
LI-NA'S POV
Sometimes I wish my best friends weren't in love with each other.
Lisa and Jungkook kept subtly flirting with one another while I low-key third wheeled.
Like they're cute together, but so freaking awkward with each other. I kept having to cut in to make the atmosphere normal.
"You're okay now, right, Li-na?" Lisa said anxiously while Jungkook walked us to our first class. "I'm so sorry. I haven't been able to come out of my house properly,"
"I'm fine," I said."I should be apologizing to you, though. If it wasn't for me being so stupid-"
"No!" She interrupted. "I was the one who forced you to go-"
"Okay, we can all agree that you're both insanely idiotic," Kook sighed, steering us into the classroom. "But for now, we have algebra to focus on,"
Without further ado, we sat down in our respective seats and started the lesson.

"Good afternoon, students," Hoseok strolled up to our lunch table, smiling down on us. "How has your day been?"
"Good, Principal Jung," we chorused, stopping ourselves from giggling.
"That's great. Eat up, kids. You're still young, you need strength,"
"Would you like to join us for lunch?" Jungkook chuckled.
"I would, but I have some work to do, unfortunately," Hobi rolled his eyes. "Call me if you need anything,"
"See you later, sir!"
He loped away, smiling and greeting other students like the calm headteacher he was.
"I'm going to head to the bathroom, okay?" Lisa smiled.
"Go with her, Jungkook," I said.
"I don't want to leave you here alone, though-"
"Hobi's here," I reassured. "Please go with her. He might be lurking anywhere..."
Hesitantly, Jungkook nodded and went out of the cafeteria with Lisa.
I was left alone playing slightly with my food.
"Who might be lurking anywhere?"
A light touch on my shoulder made me look up, immediately recoiling as I met eyes with Kim Jong-in.
I opened my mouth, no words coming out.
Pure rage rushed into my throat.
"How've you been, Hoobae?" He smiled, hand resting on my shoulder. "I didn't see you at my party-"
"Stop playing innocent," I said harshly, standing up and yanking his hand from my body. "And keep away from me and my friends,"
"I'm not sure what you're talking about," his perfect face crumpled slightly. "Let's talk. What's wrong?"
"You know what's wrong, Kai," I hissed. "You tried to get Lisa and I raped. I trusted you, you bastard,"
He looked shocked. "What!?"
I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "For the sake of your life, stay away from me. You know what my family's profession is,"
The sadness in his eyes would have usually torn my heart.
But now, the only thing I felt was hatred.
Betrayal.
Sorrow.
"Li-na-" he stepped towards me, making me turn and walk away.
I wouldn't entertain his shit.
"Yoongi," I said into my phone. "C- can you come pick me up?"
"What's wrong?" His voice came worriedly. "Did anything happen?"
"No," I sucked in a deep breath. "I just don't want to stay,"
"I'll send someone over," he said. "Just wait about 10 minutes,"

"Hey, chica," Taehyung rolled up in his stunning Bugatti Chiron Noire, roof off to expose his gleaming locks and Gucci sunglasses.
"Every time I see you, you're in a new car," I remarked, getting into the vehicle and strapping my belt.
"Perks of being rich," he shrugged, zooming off down the street. "Where we heading?"
"Home,"
He pursued his lips. "Nope. Boring,"
"Seriously?" I groaned. "Where should we go, then?"
"Shopping,"
"Fine. Whatever,"
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
"This is nice,"
I threw another dress into Taehyung's hands, who seemed to regret taking me out.
"When a guy offers to clothes shop with you, you're supposed to let him choose something for you,"
"We're not in a drama, loverboy. Besides, you're the one who wanted to come here,"
"Touche," he tilted his head to the side, watching as I looked around.
"You think this would look good on me?" I held up a dust pink skirt. "I have a white blouse that would look nice with it,"
He sighed. "I don't know,"
"You're real helpful, aren't you?"
"Watch your step," he glared. "I'm also real dangerous,"
"I bet you're still the little boy who claimed he didn't want a sister,"
"How do you want me to reply to that?"
"I don't want a reply," I shrugged.
He rolled his eyes and checked his watch- diamond encrusted, of course. "Wanna head somewhere to eat?"
"Sure. Just go pay for these first,"
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
"
This is a nice place," I said, watching as he cut into his steak.
"It is, isn't it?" He murmured, before swapping his now cut up steak for my intact one.
How thoughtful of him.
"How's school?" He asked, starting to eat.
"Fine, I guess. How's work?"
"Nothing out the ordinary," he said casually. "Has Yoongi told you?"
"About what?"
"Well," his eyes twinkled. "If he hasn't, I guess you'll never know,"
"You may as well tell me now," I frowned.
"Just because I'm feeling nice. We're going on holiday. Well, not exactly holiday,"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, we're going to Jeju Island, but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be all fun and games. We have work down there,"
"So... Almost like a business trip, but to do with Mafia stuff," I pointed out.
"Smarter than credited for," he took a sip of wine, the red liquid sliding from the edge of his lip to his chin as he set the glass down.
"Are you a baby?" I teased, passing him a tissue. "Can't you drink properly?"
He shrugged, wiping the droplet with his thumb, and then leaning forward.
"Say 'ah',"
Before I could react, he placed his thumb between my lips, the sweet, addicting taste of the wine making its way into my mouth.
Without even meaning it, I licked his thumb, desperate to try the wine.
TAEHYUNG'S POV
My stomach felt funny.
It was flipping in ways I didn't want it to, and that was disturbing.
I pulled away, trying to comprehend what I'd just done, and then glancing at Nari, who was skimming the edge of her lower lip to devour the remnants of the small amount of alcohol she'd tasted.
"Naughty girl," I muttered, hiding my thumb in my lap and using my other hand to finish my food.
"Wine is so yummy," she implored, looking excited.
"You're not allowed any more," I said, my mind straying to other, more dirty acts.
I needed Yoongi to tell me to get my brain out of the gutter.
"Let me have a tiny bit," she said, flashing a smile that was supposed to make me cave in.
"No,"
"Just a little bit,"
"No, Li,"
"I'll tell Yoongi you gave me wine,"
I made a stern face at her. "Don't you dare. If you keep quiet, you can have some when we go to Jeju,"
"Deal," she stood up, following me as I pulled out my wallet to pay.
Her hand caught onto my bare wrist, before she moved it away. "Hey, I'll pay. You bought me all those dresses,"
"I wouldn't be a man if I didn't pay for your stuff," I scoffed. "Let me,"
"I'll feel bad," she glanced away. "Let's go half and half, then,"
"I'm paying full," I sighed. "Let's not make this difficult,"
She didn't say anything. Just held out her pinky finger after walking out to the car.
I looked down at it. "What?"
"We have to seal our promise,"
"What promise?"
She narrowed her eyes. "The wine deal,"
I linked my pinky with hers, marvelling at the size difference as we stamped thumbs.
"All done," she smiled.
I looked away. "You know that was the thumb that went in your mouth, right?"
"Ew!" She scowled. "You haven't washed your hands yet?"
I grinned and licked my thumb, streaking its slightly wet surface on her cheek as she shrieked.
"That's disgusting, Kim Taehyung!"
