~Lucy's POV

I was staring blankly at the ceiling in my room, my body felt numb. I got the emotions out I stored inside.

I never meant to hurt Natsu with it. I know our responsibilities, even I have some. We can't just leave this life.

But as a mother, I want to. I want Nash to have a peaceful life without the worries us adults carries. I looked at the frame Nash, Natsu and I got a while ago.

We were swimming in the pool and Virgo suddenly took a picture of us. We were smiling brightly and we were happy.

Now when I look at Nash's look of despair I can't help but feel devastated.

I knew Natsu felt exactly the same way, the same helplessness we're plagued with.

I clenched my hands and stood up. Acting helpless won't do anything at all.

I walked to Natsu's office and went inside. Natsu had a surprised look on his face when he saw me. "You okay?"

I mentally rolled my eyes at the question. Not the best time to ask, buddy.

He put his lip in a tight line. "I know you're not. I'm sorry, I don't know how to deal with this situation either." His stone cold face was back into place. He didn't want me to see his anguish.

I walked behind him and saw that he was checking the security cameras again. "You know that won't help, right?" I asked him softly.

He was moody because of everything.

"I fucking know that."

I sighed and walked away, not mentally strong enough for his harshness now. I felt like he hasn't been sleeping the last few days. The empty cups of coffee on his desk proved my theory along with the dark eye bags.

I walked through the cells of the basement, letting my fingers move across the walls.

I ended up by the last cell. I opened it and immediately the one held captive looked my way.

"Jason," I said, confirming his name and my identity.

He looked better than first. The bruises were light red instead of purple and his wounds got cleaned up.

"What are you doing here, Lucy?" Jason asked me while looking if somebody was behind me. He was frowning while looking at me with apprehensiveness.

I closed the door and sat down on the clean chair near the door. Jason carefully took a step back, afraid I would do something.

If he doesn't say something wrong, that's it.

I sighed and closed my eyes. "Please tell me more useful information about Raven Tail."

I don't want to waste my time here. Natsu's authoritative voice really rubbed off on me.

I opened my eyes to see him already looking at me. I was sure my eyes were cold and emotionless.

"I already told everything I know," Jason said so lowly I almost couldn't hear it.

I stood up and walked to him. He glared at me from his seating positions but I wouldn't let him intimidate me. "Come on, I know you have more to say. You always held something back, just like when you were cheating on me."

I was so foolish to fall in love with him.

I had to endure the heartbreak alone. My mum was murdered before that, my sister was nowhere to be found and my father didn't act like a father at all.

I was a hopeless teenager wanting to feel loved. How naive of me to look for it in the wrong person.

"I made a mistake," he snapped at me. "I made a mistake and I know it, okay. Don't rub it in my face as if you never make one. I wanted... oh god, I don't even know what I wanted back then but I sure as hell wanted you."

I breathed loudly and scowled. "You sure as hell showed that the right way."

He laughed, a laugh directed at himself. "I was young and took you for granted, I know. I can't change it. It's in the past."

I raised my eyebrow slightly, not trying to look intimidated. My explosive feelings should stay out of this. Obtain. More. Information.

You're doing a great job, my conscious mocked me.

"Is it?" I asked.

"For you? Yeah. For me? Nope, not over it yet," he admitted honestly. It has been what, fourteen years? How could he still not be over me? At this point I'm sure he's mocking me, gaslighting me to have mercy on him.

Then I remembered why I came here. "Information, now," I demanded. I wasted more time here than I planned on.

"You've changed a lot, you know? You aren't the girl I fell in love with, she is replaced by this woman who knows her weakness and surpasses them."

Though he was close to meaning nothing to me, his words hit me hard. He doesn't know anything about me, not at all. This woman he is talking about is scared, afraid of everything, cries a lot and helpless.

I didn't let it show to him and looked away. "You say as if that it a bad thing. Jason, do you have information or not?"

When I looked at him his eyes softened. "I know one more thing."

I glared at him, "And why didn't you tell my husband that?"

He shrugged. "I didn't feel like it."

I am not one for violence and he should be lucky for that. I scowled, "Motherfucker. Natsu promised to find your sister and yet here you are, holding back information that could help us and you," I spat.

Jason's eyes widened at the mention of his sister. He gripped his hair, "I forgot, I fucking forgot that."

I looked at him deadly and he sighed, "I'm such a pathetic failure of a brother. Their prisoners, hostages are in different buildings, meaning not in the basements."

I gripped his collar tightly and glared at him with such intensity I could bore his skull with it. "And you say that now?" I yelled.

Natsu was using his time to storm into basements. But if Jason had said from the beginning that they won't be there, he wouldn't have to waste his time.

He looked away ashamed, probably rethinking his life decisions, he should be.

I let go of him and walked towards the door, "I'll see you later," I mumbled.

I went towards Natsu again but when I opened the door he was not to be found.

I frowned. I expected him to be here.

~Natsu's POV

I was with Gajeel and Laxus walking an old warehouse inside. Turns out that apparently Raven Tail has a lot of places in my territory. Jellal found some movements in here and with using a heat sensor camera he found one person inside.

I slowly walked inside. The boys behind me, careful not to make a sound. I pushed open many doors on the ground. I found no one.

We searched through the whole warehouse and there wasn't a single soul existing here. But the hear sensor clearly stated a person was in here. And the person couldn't move, it was probably tied up.

Soon we heard muffled sounds. We all looked around, trying to locate the sound.

I put my hand in a fist and walked to the wall. I punched it with a fast swing, hard enough to make it break. It was a made up wall, its purpose to make people look past it. Soon more and more pieces of the wall fell and I could step inside.

I saw a girl lying there, hands tied behind her back and body on the ground. She looked like she hadn't eaten in days. Her clothes were on the revealing side, bruises all over her body. I snarled. She most definitely belonged to their whorehouses, and they left her here to die.

There were tears in her eyes tears and it looked like she could pass out any moment now. I walked closer to her, still cautious.

I put the cloth out of her mouth.

"Bomb!" she screamed with a hoarse voice.

Instantly I looked around her and saw the time ticking bomb, exploding in 15 seconds.

I picked the girl and swung her over my shoulder and made my way out. I swung the bomb as far back as K could. "Guys. Retreat, bomb!" I shouted. Laxus and Gajeel immediately ran beside me and when we made it out of the warehouse we heard the explosion.

We watched as the warehouse went up in flames. I looked at it with a frown. I wasn't able to find any information about Nash's whereabouts.

I heard police sirens and Gajeel tapped my shoulder. "Let's go." Unfortunately not everyone in the police organization is under our payroll.

I nodded and turned around, running away to the car. Capricorn was still waiting there and looked in the rearview mirror. "Who's the girl, sir?"

"Just drive and keep your mouth shut," I said as I was in a foul mood. Another failed attempt. I pressed a button that made a glass shield slide up between the drivers seat and ours.

I pushed the girl on the seat next to me. She immediately curled up into a ball, trying to stay as far from me as she could.

The girl was crying and wiping away her tears with her hands. I now took a good look at her.

"Food," I said and stuck my hand upwards. The girl saw this and thought I wanted to smack her, so she flinched.

Whoever had her way with her, they did a phenomenal job at breaking her. She probably won't trust any man anymore.

Laxus and Gajeel were sitting behind me. Soon I felt a lunchbox and a water bottle being pushed into my hands.

I gave her the food and water. "I'm not going to hurt you. Just tell me why you were there and who you are," I told her harshly. Yes, harshly. Can't show my soft side to strangers.

"T-thank you... sir," she stuttered while eating the food.

I waited patiently while she was eating it. She was eating so cautiously, so slowly, as if one wrong move could be fatal for her.

I made a mental note to get people to clean her up later.

After she was done she looked up.

"You're Natsu Dragneel," she said while her eyes were growing large. I loved it when people knew me and were afraid of me.

"Indeed I am. Mind answering my question?"

She took a breath. "People kidnapped me. I don't even know for what. The only thing I know was that I was used as a bait for whatever."

Bait.

They were trying to kill me, they knew I would search the old warehouse because of movements.

I clicked my tongue, clever.

Though they failed.

"I guess I was the bait for you?" she said in a timid voice.

I nodded. "Nothing more?"

I was disappointed by the lack of information but I can't possibly blame her for not knowing shit.

She was thinking and thinking. Suddenly she clicked her fingers. "They said something about payback for the action you did."

I gestured for her to continue, hoping to hear if she heard something about Nash.

The car was silent except the breathing.

"I'm sorry, I can't remember much as I was out most of the time. But they said something like: 'could you give Mr. Han this package' after the whole payback thing."

I nodded, more satisfied with this information. I looked behind me, Gajeel already staring at me. The look in his eyes told me already what he knew what I was going to say.

"No more?"

She shook her head. "No more, sir." She is sure raised to be politeful. "Thank you again."

"And who are you?" Laxus asked from behind me. I took a glance at him, seeing his arms crossed and a doubtful look on his face.

Can't blame him. This could be another trap.

"Is that important?" she asked. She bit her lip.

I nodded, giving her a cold look. "Information is power."

She sighed when we reached a stop. I looked outside the window and saw we arrived at the basement.

"Jessica Ryon."

I smirked when I heard that, masking my shock immediately.

You're welcome, Jason. I just found your sister.
