Chapter four: a Bloody Mess

~Recap~

"Petunia! Petunia!" Harry whisper shouted.

She sat up groggily, rubbing the sore spot on her head.

"What-?"

Harry cut her off, "We need to talk," He said with a steely glare, "Now."

|With Harry, 3rd Person POV|

Petunia's face instantly hardened at his seriousness.

"What happened." Not as a question but a demand.

"Did you know Dudley has magic?" Her face changed to one of surprise.

"I mean, he showed signs early on but I hid it! Never told him! I thought it faded!" She squeaked, slightly panicked.

"Magic doesn't fade! It never fades!" Harry whisper-shouts, with silent furry burning in his eyes. Petunia whimpered as tears collected in her eyes, but Harry pushed on. "He has suppressed his magic for far too long! I'm surprised he's even still alive! Untrained magic can lead to untold death and destruction, let alone suppressed magic!"

"If I hadn't hidden it Vernon would have killed him anyway." Petunia replied weakly, too tired to put up a fight.

Harry could tell he was loosing control of his emotions, which on a normal day would have been bad but with the fresh werewolf bite on his shoulder it could turn catastrophic very quickly. So in an effort to calm himself he closed his eyes and took slow, deep breaths, and he eventually felt his heart rate settling back to is normal faint rhythm in his veins.

Finally he opened his eyes again and saw Petunia staring at him in worry. He just smiled at her and told her to get dressed and come down for breakfast before they had to deal with another one of Vernon's temper fits. So she rushed off, quickly getting ready and Harry left to go down stairs and serve coffee and such to Vernon before starting his daily routine of chores and punishment that was always the norm for Vernons numerous days off from work.

Harry had just finished polishing the kitchen floors and was carrying his supplies back too the supply closet on the back wall of the sitting room next to the large boxy tv when uncle Vernon walked right up to him and pushed him too the ground. Harry must have not secured the floor polish's lid because when he fell the bottles cap burst off and polishing fluid gushed from the container. Harry quickly righted the bottle but it was too late. The mirky light brown solution was slowly soaking into the flawless white carpet and Vernon was turning purple.

"Look what you've done now you useless freak! You've stained my Petunias perfect white carpet! You'll pay for this, boy!" Vernon screeched, venomously and it was barely a millisecond before he descended upon Harry and began beating him senseless. Harry was so focused on controlling his emotions so that his newly found inner wolf wouldn't attack Vernon that he didn't even notice that Dudley had stepped into the room right behind his father and was watching the seen before him play out with a look of horror plastered across his face.

Suddenly a wild and violent burst of magenta magic pushed Vernon off of Harry, originating from Dudley, and Vernon rounded on him. Dudley, to his credit held a straight face as he stood just a few feet from his father who looked as if a murderous rage had over come him. Then quickly Vernon crossed the room to his son and pinned him to the wall by the throat, slowly crushing the life out of his own flesh and blood kid.

Harry felt as if his mind snapped when he saw what was happening and the fear in his cousins eyes. With one fluid movement his body had shifted to that of a large black furred wolf with blazing emerald eyes and a white lightning bolt scar on its forehead and he was running at Vernon quicker than the eye could see. He darted behind Vernon and his razor sharp teeth sliced through the tendons in his heels. Harry stepped back, watching him crumple to the ground. The wolf slowly circled his limp form, snarling and lashing out with his claws and teeth, forming deep slashes in Vernons fatty skin. By the time he stopped circling, Vernon was shrieking and squealing and screaming like the pig he was. Harry slowly licked the blood off his fangs and stalked towards the vulnerable figure on the ground. finally having enough the wolf pounced and in one swift move he tackled the fat pig flat to the ground and his strong jaws came down on Vernon's neck, ripping and shredding. blood and chunks of skin went flying, coating the walls, ceiling, and carpet.

Once Harry had made sure the man was actually dead and couldn't harm who his wolf thought of as their honorary cub, he released the tattered remains of the mans esophagus and tuned back into his human form, emotionlessly observing the havoc he had reaped. He could tell he was covered in blood and he could also tell it was still in his mouth by the heavy, watery, metallic taste it left. Dudley hesitated only a second before tackling Harry in a tight hug, sobbing into his chest and Harry hugged him back just as tightly hushing his cries and gently ran his blood stained fingers through his cubs hair trying to soothe him. Finally after a few minutes Dudley calmed enough to go take a shower and return with his bloody clothes which Harry set next to the body then went to go clean himself of blood, later placing his bloody clothes in the same spot. In a bit of instinctual, wand-less magic Harry turned the body and his and Dudleys blood soaked clothes to ashes then spelled the room sparkling clean.

"Harry what are we gonna tell mom?" Dudley whispered quietly, and Harry suspected that if it weren't for his enhanced hearing that he had noticed after his first transformation he wouldn't have been able to hear him.

"It's ok cub, I'll just tell her the truth."

"Cub?" Dudley asked quizzically.

"Oh, my uh...... wolf........? I guess....? My wolf considers you our cub and in everything but blood you kind of are? But I won't call you it again if you don't want me too." Harry said with a small, sad smile.

Dudley quickly shook his head and said, "no, Harry it's fine! I mean, you already act as if you are my parent anyway so it's fine!" He smiled. Harry smiles back and hugged the young man that stood before him, who he was so proud of and Dudley hugged him back.

"Alright, now let's go tell my mom." Dudley whispered in a trembling voice.

"Alright cub, lets go." Harry agreed.
