12|Art Vent-type-thing
I need something to yap about, so let's do art~
What tends to help me is looking at other artists work. Now, this can cause you to become upset because you think things like "their so much better then me" "I'll never be that good"
Stop that.
I'm past that stage, because I realised that those artists were just as clunky and awkward at art as I am now.
Those artists weren't born with the skill in their fingers~and if they were, well la de da good for them. But people like seeing the journey, right?
Which is always full of mishaps and awkwardness.
It doesn't have to be as good as theirs, you just have to be proud of what you can create.
I have a big list of artists I follow for inspiration and I guess you can say tips. I'll just name the big main ones that aren't on here.
Heres the short version:
Neytirix~YouTube
Tennealle Flowers~YouTube
Angela Animates~Instagram
C3rmen~Instagram
Gabriella Bujdoso~Instagram
Maripaz Viller~Instagram(artist for Miss Abbot and The Doctor on Webtoon)
(Really, just random stuff)
I highly suggest you guys give them a passing glance if you got the time.
Anything can inspire me, those big artists, my friends, and even your guys comments. There have been times I'm reading the nutty comments you guys left and am tempted to try and turn it into a mini comic~but I don't have the style nailed down for that yet.
Just...the advice I have to give is, be patient with yourself.
Those artists I listed, when I look at their stuff now, I keep in mind that they have years of doing art behind them. Their in their like, thirties. Nothing against that, but that means they've been doing it, probably practicing every day or so, for over a decade.
What I've learned through the two last artbooks is this~
Embrace the looniness if your artwork, because no one can do what you can.
Be patient with yourself, take your time with your drawings. (Don't worry, I still have trouble with that part ;)
Slowly work it out of your mind with lines and shapes, with reference images(even if they make you feel a little guilty) and hey, if the first flops, that's just part of the journey.
The next step, though it can be hard, is even more important, to keep going, to work through all the things you don't like about it until your hand draws the something you saw in your mind.
Wow, I totally didn't start this intending it to be a rant-type-thing. Yikes.
And, though it pains my eyeballs to look at this, here's a piece of my super-duper early WoF fanart vs. what I can do now.
Early work:not really caring what happens.
Now:cares more about anatomy and posing.
(Kinda drew the pose awkward on purpose. It's very painful-looking)
Lined for clearer view.
Big flipping yikes. I don't know the year gap from the first to the last, but, still, this proves my point.
Yes, what I can do now is awkward and a little cringy, but it's not as bad as I was. This is why I enjoy my art now so much.
Cause, even though I hate that piece of paper SO MUCH~it allows me to enjoy what I can do now.
Granted, I didn't really care too much when I drew that weird picture, but I guess that's also a plus.
Sorry for the long, lonnnnng rant, but I keep seeing some people in the comments being a little ruff on themselves and this is my awkward, loony way if trying to help.
Hope it somehow did.
