Chapter 8: No.. Not Again
Your POV
I was getting ready for school after breakfast and caught a glimpse of my body in the mirror. I sighed as I pulled my shirt back up to reveal my stomach and all the lines of scars from the experiments on me during my time in the Asylum. By pulling up my skirt slightly I saw the pink ones and the old pale barely visible ones that I've collected over the years.
Turning and lifting my shirt I saw the ones on my back. Old whip markings and other scars. I sighed as i looked at what i was going to wear today. An old tank top and a skirt. I sighed and took my skirt and put on pants and sneakers along with a sweatshirt. I left my hair to fall around my face and shoulders before I looked in the mirror to see no scars visible and turned to leave my room.
I went to the living room and saw Stein look up from his paper and coffee to raise a brow. I looked down and shoved my hands deeply into my pockets.
"Why all the cover up?" he asked as he tilted his head.
I shook mine. "I don't wanna talk about it." I said looking down.
He stood and walked over lifting my chin to look at him.
"Tell me what it is." he said.
I sighed and looked at his worried emerald eyes.
"When I first got here after you found me. Did you notice the amount of scars I had spread across my body?" I asked quietly.
He nodded. "I had to close a few. Why?" he asked.
I sighed and looked at him.
"I hate the sight of them." I said lowly and looked down letting my hair fall over my face.
He sighed and picked me up putting me on the counter. He lifted my chin once more to get me to look at him.
"(y/n) the scars you have are beautiful. They tell a story that you have and no other person has or ever will. Each and every one you have make you how you are. They make you different. That's why I love you." he said.
I smiled slowly as I looked at him.
"You really think so?" I asked.
He nodded with a small smile. "I know so." he said. "Now be my happy girl again." he said.
I smiled and nodded wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him into a tight embrace. He smiles into my neck and held me back. He looked at me before pecking my forehead and picked me up and set me down slowly and gently.
He looked at me and smiled.
"We should get to school." He said.
I nodded and smiled. "We should." I said.
~Time Skip To Lunch~
I had just sat down with my new found friends I met during study hall before Lord Death went over the intercom. I furrowed my brows as I heard my name being called to the Death Room along with Stein. I stood and looked over to Stein as he stood from his place with Spirit and Marie.
We began to walk to the hallway as I looked at the door of the Death Room. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked to see it was attached to Stein.
"Don't worry I'm sure it is going to be just fine." he said.
I nodded, "I just have a bad feeling about it." I said.
He nodded and sighed as he looked to the door. "That's understandable but Lord Death is nicer than he looks." he said with a small smile.
I smiles back and nodded. "Yes professor." I said.
He nodded and took his hand from my shoulder and we began our walk back to the Death Room. He opened the door letting me through earning a small smile and a thank you from me. We began to walk to the platform and I stopped as I saw who was standing on the platform with Lord Death. Stein ran into my back as I was frozen in horror.
"(y/n) what is it?" Was what I heard from Stein but it was only heard in a low whisper as I felt salty tears run down my face as I clenched my teeth and fists together.
I felt his hands on my shoulders as I backed farther into Stein. I couldn't do it and I won't ever again. Not with what I've been through. Because the people with Lord Death on the platform. Were the ones from the Death City Asylum. They were here for me.
