Time skip 4 years

"Aaaaannndd..... done." I said.

I leaned back in my chair and sighed. After 4 years of studying those instructions with Katelyn and building the machine, I finally figured out what the two of us thought were the missing instructions. Now, after 4 long years of hard work, it was finished.

"OMGs!(Oh My Gods)." I thought. "I have to call Katelyn and tell her it's done!"

I picked up my phone and called her. I could hear her squealing on the other end. She said she would be there in 2 minutes.

2 minutes later

The doorbell rang. I floated downstairs and opened the door to an ecstatic Katelyn.

"Katie! Come in, come see it!" I squealed. We raced upstairs and into my room. I held the device up proudly.

It had a blue handle/lever sort of thing, with a blue body, a black base, a white stamp thing connected to the handle/lever, and some buttons. (Picture above)

Katie plopped down on a bean bag in a corner, next to my advanced Advanced Science Kit.

"So, what does it do?" Katelyn asked. Despite the instructions, the book never detailed what the machine was meant for.

"I dunno. How do you think we turn it on?" I replied.

"I vote we start mashing buttons, and see what happens." She said.

"NO!" I said forcefully. "That's never good. Don't you ever watch these kind of movies? Button mashing never brings anything good." 

"Okay, okay, I back down drama queen" Katelyn raised her hands in defeat.

I sighed, then tried the red button. I didn't expect anything to happen, so I was surprised when it started to glow. I dropped the machine in surprise, but it never hit the ground. It just floated there.

"Solara, I am officially weirded out." Katelyn said to me.

"I am too, Katie. I am too." I replied, astounded. Then, after my brain came out of shock, I tried to touch it. Big mistake.

My finger bounced back, as if deflected. The machine then started to whir and spin and spark. The red light was beeping faster. Then, it imploded.

Well, not really. It folded in on itself, creating a wormhole of black. My last thought before being sucked in was: 'I never even got to meet Leo Valdez'. The last thing I heard was Katelyn screaming. The last thing I saw was my room ceiling. Then, the world went black.
