"Ruel," The king groaned as he tried to kiss me for the nth time, "Please be mine. It's getting harder and harder for me to stay without you," He groaned. Meanwhile, I was swallowing the food because I wanted to finish dinner soon and return to my tent. I already had enough of that Drakkon king.
"I have set my price and if you're not willing to pay that then you cannot have me," I told him, crossing my hands on my chest and leaning back. I was just so annoyed by the Drakkon king at this point that I wanted to slap him.
He was getting more and more desperate.
For a moment, he froze in his place. A strange expression climbed on his face before he snapped out of it and looked at me with much more determination.
All of a sudden, he grabbed my face and growled, "I will have you, Ruel. You will be mine soon," with that, his lips crashed on mine without a warning. I was taken aback all of a sudden. I growled in his mouth and tried to push him back but he didn't seem to have any plan to let me go.
As he deepened the kiss, I searched for a fork and stabbed him in the thigh, making him jump back. I glared at him as he looked at me in bewilderment.
"Don't forget your limit Drakkon. I am a woman and I have my dignity. If you try to force me into something then I can do worse," I spat in his face before turning on my heels and walking out of the tent but he followed me.
"I'm the King of Drakkon. I always get what I want and you shall be mine too. The quicker you wrap your head around it, the better it would be for you," He growled behind me as I proceeded to walk away.
For a moment, it felt like I was talking with Ezekiel again. The arrogance was somewhat the same in them but I was still sure that Ezekiel would easily beat the Drakkon king whether on the battlefield or in a competition to determine the greatest chauvinist.
I stormed to my tent that night, seething. I wanted to know where the heck was Ezekiel and what was taking him so long. It had been more than a week since he'd come to see me. Why hadn't he come to take me out of here yet?
I kept thinking of some way that would allow me to know what he was doing. Suddenly, an idea crossed my mind.
You see, Ezekiel is a man who completely operated on emotions like jealousy and rage. I just had to make him feel one of them to get a reaction out of him.
Oh, Celeste. You are a genius!
I thought about it as I went to bed. The next morning, I woke up before everyone else to compose a letter describing my love (alas) for the Drakkon king. As soon as I was done writing it, I sealed it before giving it to the messenger along with some money. He was gone in no time.
The rest of the day I spent with Kine. It was a very mundane day and nothing eventful happened until evening.
Around evening, there was this sudden commotion in the camp. The troops were active all of a sudden. As far as I could tell from their behaviour it looked like they were preparing for an attack.
"What's going on?" I asked the Drakkon king when I found him with his general. His eyes burned on me with extra ferocity as he looked at me. We hadn't talked properly since last night.
"A presence of another army has been detected in the valley," The King informed me. I gasped, even though I was the general of that another army detected in the valley but they don't have to know this yet.
Though it surprised me to know that they have finally made their presence known. I knew that this must have been done by them intentionally. They must have planned something serious. Or was this Ezekiel's way of letting me know that he wasn't going to let me (hypothetically) fvck with the Drakkon king for long?
"You don't have to worry. The odds are in our favour. My army is huge than theirs," the Drakkon general told me.
But my army has superior fighting skills.
"I'm so relieved to hear that," I flashed him a flattering smile and instantly felt the King's eyes burn more into my skin.
After that, I was sent away. That night I was spared from having dinner with the King because he was busy assessing the preparations of his army.
The next day something surprising happened. I could have never imagined this — the Drakkon king received a letter from Ezekiel. It was sometime before the sunset when the Drakkon king gathered everyone in the middle of the camp and read the letter out loud to everyone.
It read:
I, the King of Lycans, hereby appeals for a treaty with the Drakkon King to bring the forever raging war between the two kingdoms to an end. The terms of the treaty being that I would surrender the valley to the Drakkon king and in return, the Drakkon king has to call his forces back from the northern islands. I deem this valley worthy to be ruled only by the Drakkons, for they deserve it.
Through this letter, I pledge my alliance to the king. Please accept this marvellous sculpture made by my best sculptors as a token of gift.
Regards,
E
I was completely shocked when the Drakkon King read the letter out loud to everyone with an arrogant smirk on his face. Everyone around me rejoiced but I stood in shock.
For a moment, I wanted to climb up to the podium and snatch the letter from him to see if it was really written by Ezekiel. I wasn't going to believe that Ezekiel had been the one to send the letter until the King showed us a giant sculpture of a beautiful winged horse.
My eyes widened as I took in the huge sculpture.
That scheming son of a bastard!
