Rainbow's Pov

"I heard you went out without me. What a shame." Morgan said, sitting on her bed. She was smirking, and God dammit, of course she'd be fully awake at three in the morning.

"Yeah, I did. What's the big deal?" She smirked again and got off of her bed.

"You were out drinking because of Opal again." She put a hand on my shoulder. "I can tell." I sighed and pushed past her.

"Yeah, fine. But then she came out and we talked."

"And?"

"And she's in her dorm now because she's drunk and tired. It took forever to get her home but she's safe." I took off my jacket and tossed it on the bed, turning around to face Morgan.

"No hookup? Strange, it's almost as if what I've been saying about her has been true." She taunted. I shook my head.

"She tried to kiss me, but it's not what she needed. She has a girlfriend, and I can't keep being there when she needs someone to cuddle with." I sighed again, and Morgan came up to me and hugged me, resting her head on my chest.

"I'm sorry."

"What?" Morgan hugged me tighter.

"I'm sorry that this is how things are. That this is how things have to be." I hugged her back.

"Yeah, I guess..." Suddenly, she raised her head and kissed me softly. After a moment, I started to kiss her back. 

After making out for a while, I pushed her away from me.

"Morgan, no!" She staggered a bit.

"No what?"

"No this!" I said firmly. "This-" I motioned wildly with my hands. "This isn't right. I can't keep doing this."

"Doing what?" She demanded, her eyes full of anger.

"I can't keep dealing with you! You go out and drag me with you, then you go get drunk and high off of whatever the fuck people give you, hoping you're not being slipped a ruffie and meanwhile I have to make sure you get home safe! Whatever creepy fascination you've got with me, save it for another day because I'm fucking done!"

"Rainbow, stop-" She started, but I held my hand up.

"No. I'm done. I'll be back in the morning." I grabbed my jacket and shoved my wallet and charger into the pockets and left.

I didn't have an actual destination, I just walked around campus for about an hour. After a while, I knew what I needed to do.

"H-hello?" Rhodonite asked sleepily. She noticed who I was and perked up. "Rainbow? What are you doing back?" I shook my head.

"Nothing really." I glanced inside at Opal, who was still passed out in her bed. "Can we talk out here?"

"Sure." She stepped outside and I told her everything that had happened that night. When I finished, she smiled uneasily.

"Wow, that was a crazy story Rainbow." I looked at the ground a smiled bashfully.

"Yeah I guess."

"Oh! Uh- maybe we should go get coffee." I looked up at her.

"When?"

"Now!" I blinked a few times, then watched as she went back into her dorm and grabbed her coat and wallet. "Let's go!"

It felt good to go out for coffee at almost four thirty in the morning, knowing that not too long after the first morning classes would be starting. And even though I had a horrible hangover, I was content.
