Lapis's Pov

Red never ended up coming to my house for dinner that night, which meant that I couldn't go with him. I was upset, until he called me. He never went out and we ended up talking all night. It ended up angering our friends slightly, especially the one girl(Who's name I'd learned to be Hessonite, or Hess for short). As luck would have it, Hess and I ended up in a tent with two other girls we hung out with, our ever-annoying class president Turquoise, and another girl who didn't have anyone to hare a tent with.

"This was a shitty idea," Hess complained. Turquoise gasped at the swear, but nobody reacted to it.

"Just be glad the campsite has actual bathrooms and not an outhouse," I said. We were on our way there. Rather than have everyone go at once, the chaperones were having several tents go get ready for bed at a time. It was just our luck that it was already almost pitch black outside and we were the only tent in transit. The light from the bathhouse ahead was all we could use to see.

the bathhouse was a long building with a wall down the middle that divided the men and women's side. It was less like a building, more like a hallway with doors on either end. There were large vents at the top of the wall so the two sides could hear each other, and it was loud with at least four other tent groups on each side. There were six toilet stalls, six sinks, six showers, and six changing stalls. Most of the girls were waiting for other girls to finish getting ready because we had to travel as a group. Only one girl was in the showers so I took the one closest to the other door and started t rinse off the sweat from our hike. The lights on that end of the building weren't on so it was dim in my stall, which I found calming.

After everyone was ready, we began the pitch black walk back to the tents.

"God it sucks that the only power outlets are in the bathroom!" The girl who none of us knew started to complain.

"It's a camping  trip, we're not supposed to have electronics anyway." I reminded her. Just then, my phone vibrated in my pocket.

"Really?" She asked. I sighed.

"I have a power bank in my duffle bag, it can charge up to three phones at one but it'll only charge them for a few hours. I'll just charge it when I'm in the bathhouse." I reluctantly offered. It felt rude to have it but not share. I checked what the buzz was about nevertheless, and saw it was a text from Red.

Wish I could be there baby. <3

I smiled. Maybe the trip was going to be just a boring week of hiking in the woods, but at least one thing would make it good.

The screen was so bright in comparison to the area around me, that I couldn't see anything until I nearly tripped over my cousin.

"Ow!" We both called out.

"Babe!" Ruby said, helping her up. Hess just snickered while I helped myself up. I turned on the flashlight on my phone.

"Sorry, Saph. I guess I just wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

"Well maybe if you weren't staring at your phone like a clod, you would have been. You weren't even supposed to bring electronics!" Peridot accused.

"Oh, you're one to talk!" Yellen said.

"Did she bring a power bank too?" The girl from my tent asked.

"No. She brought three." Yellen replied, her voice clearly tired. I tried to hide a snicker. Pearl tugged on Peridot's sleeve

"Peridot, we should get going before-"

"Wha are you losers doing just standing in the middle of the path?" Jasper asked menacingly.

"I was waiting to see how fast you'd come running after I dropped a chew toy on the ground," I said sarcastically. She grabbed my arm.

"What did you just say to me?"

"You heard me." We stared each other down until a teacher I didn't recognize came to break things up.

"Okay ladies, let's go." He said. "You guys need to either continue on to the bathhouse or get back to the campsite, other students need to get ready." He made sure Peridot and Jasper's groups made their way to the bathhouse and escorted my group back to our tent.

"I still think this was a shitty idea." Hess lamented as we all sat on top of our sleeping bags. Turquoise slapped her but no one reacted, yet again.

"Yeah," I agreed absentmindedly while replying to Red. "But things could always be worse."

(A/N) Yeah, this is probably all you're gonna get for the class trip.

Random fact of the day: Red isn't on the class trip! Is it because he's not in their grade, or is there some other reason? ..............................................................

Imp probably knows.
