1. Lord of the Rings | Wander | @xDRAG0N0VAx

The book displays amazing use of grammar and awesome sentence structures. I believe that it really deserves being in the top 10. The character of Rowan progresses brilliantly; it has the power to capture the mind of someone who hasn't read the books or watched the movies just as well. The only thing I can advise to improve is the description of various things, and that's when I'm being ridiculously pin-pointy. Note to Author: You have written a story that is majorly underrated. I hope it gets the recognition it deserves. Great work and all the best! by DoveMalfoy10

I like that the protagonist is a stunt double on a movie set, and would have loved to have seen that explored more. I wasn't super impressed with 'girl gets sucked into the movie' here, and I feel like it could have been a tad bit more organic. Grammar was impeccable and character voices were clear. Rowan was likable but would have liked some more of her on her own. by ESHurricane

Wander' takes the fan-fiction term to a more pragmatic area that few wander in. Puns aside, the idea is something I hadn't encountered yet in the many years I've known to read. The concept of consciously changing the story of an universe from within is creative enough to warrant a lot of congratulations, but there are a few things to look into, such as punctuation (semicolons especially) and a little bit of sentence structure. All in all, a great read, but in need of a revamping. by GrouchyPotato

I found Wander to be a very interesting. As I read more I almost couldn't stop reading. Something was always happening. There were little twists and cliffhangers that kept me pulled in. Not to mention, good grammar and punctuation. This book was very well edited. by lpnglnn

2. The Walking Dead | No Exceptions | @bioshock2013

While cliched (Shane's sister and Daryl's girlfriend sacrifices herself to Negan) the protagonist is likeable and fits well with the canon cast. The lineup scene, while overdone in many a fanfic, is well written and heart pounding with drama here. Bonus point for the name Rackel because I've never heard it before. Spelling is good, few structural things like misplaced punctuation in dialogue tags. by ESHurricane

"No Exceptions" is a masterpiece of the genre. Owed partly to the incredible fandom it belongs to, the author has added their own take, further improving the storyline of the show. The genius shines in the tiny details, though. Although inappropriate and out of place, every here and there the heart-clenching descriptions and eerily perfect introspection, the act of narration is nothing if not exquisite. by GrouchyPotato

This book has great spelling and vocabulary, also grammar and punctuation. Barely any mistakes were made in these factors. The character relationships are strong, you can almost feel it. But the quality of this writing to me is intermediate. This seems like an interesting book that many people enjoy, but for me not so much. by lpnglnn

3. Supernatural | The Point of Know Return | @hesitant-winchester

This book has a LOT of telling in the first few chapters. I feel like the story could have just started with Cash and Dean in the hospital and focus on their relationship, then either flashback to traumatic stuff or have them figure it out as they go. That being said, the dialogue was really delightful. I enjoyed the Dean/Cas dynamic (bonus point for that) and watching them fall for each other is adorable. Grammar very tight. But so much trimming could be done for this book to really shine. by ESHurricane

"The Point of Know Return" is the dream of a fan put into words. It's honestly... Really hard to read. Long sentences, mismatched expressions, and the character development. It's tantamount to slapping homosexuality on anyone. The plot is mundane, the action is virtually non-existent, and the relationship between the two is forced to death. I understand where it's all coming from, but it's far from being good writing. by GrouchyPotato

I really enjoyed reading this book. I could almost feel how the characters feel about each other. The character relationships were strong and they were still developing. It was very interesting to read. by lpnglnn

4. Marvel Cinematic Universe | Cosmic | @Fever09

Personally, I think that this book is really good, and hence the exceptional scores. It has the potential of engrossing the reader into it so much that they can't stop reading once they start. What I liked about the plot was that the characters of Shyanne and Wong are portrayed amazingly. They are described really well and give off the vibe of reality in a fanfic, which is rare. And the vocabulary- I'm honestly blown away by the words used. They make the story all the more professional and attractive. Note to author: Brilliant! Keep up the good work!! by DoveMalfoy10

Impeccable grammar and style, creative story, very strong and clear character voices and perfect pacing. Definite gem here. Especially like Seraph's sass, even when it's not working in her favour. Excellent story. by ESHurricane

"Cosmic" is like a candle shining in a sea of light bulbs. Vintage, resolute, written in the most old-fashioned of ways, but with an unique electrifying feeling surrounding it. I can't say I care much for the protagonist's type, it reminds me of the classic arrogant overachiever, but the way she is portrayed, distinguished, it's exhilarating. I have yet to find someone to write with such candor and naturalness, all the while stretching the boundaries of the English literary language. A round of applause all around from me! by GrouchyPotato

I see that this book has lots of quality, and great grammar, punctuation, and development. These factors make it a great book, but the whole time I read this book I was confused with what was happening at the moment, which is why I did not enjoy it. by lpnglnn

5. BTS | Tear the Sky | @sparklingjin

Well, I think that the book has a lot of potential, as can be seen by the growing number of reads and votes. It's a good fanfic altogether, and I can safely say that I like it. It has the power to make non-BTS supporters like the fanfic too, as it relates to the band in no way. The idea is brilliant, btw. Merging fanfiction with creepypasta can be a real mess, but this is one of the rare cases where it's actually a success. Note to the author: Amazing Job!! by DoveMalfoy10

Though I found Grey a bit unlikable, I definitely ended up enjoying this story. It's creative with the supernatural stuff peppered in with the normal, giving me a feel that something is up while I'm drooling over hot KPop dudes. The grammar was perfect, and the dialogue was pretty on point. My main critique is that all the guys are so aloof and borderline rude. I know it's a trope but it doesn't work for me here, I feel like I would have been rooting for her more if she either dismissed these guys completely because they're rude or not had them be so rude in the first place. Fun read, though! by ESHurricane

It was fun reading the first couple of chapters of the book. I really enjoyed the book and although the plot development seemed a little crazy to me, and some of the character relationships weren't very believable, it was fun getting a chance to read a book like this. Lots of the unexpected have happened in this book. by lpnglnn

"Tear the Sky" is nothing short of the ship-heavy genre, lurking around the band fandoms. The story in itself is fine, it's not flawed, it is just very bland. The elements that try, ostentatiously, to differentiate it from any other book in the genre, are forced, the plot is predictable even from the summary, the list can go on, but it doesn't have to. For the amateurs of the genre, it's a great read, but as a whole, it's slightly above average. by GrouchyPotato

6. Marvel Cinematic Universe | Phoenix | @FlowingRhythm

This one didn't resonate with me too much, even though I was pretty excited about a Cinderella/Tony Stark mashup. I found it a bit too expository in the Prologue and then when we got to the present and she was 26 years old still living with her stepmom and sisters I just kind of couldn't hang on to the suspension of disbelief. I think if her life was that bad she would have been out of there as soon as she was legally able, especially working in a bar for tips. Maybe I'm being too critical, but I just think the author was trying too hard to make it seem like her life was so hard that it ended up kind of unrealistic. Grammar and structure super tight here, no complaints there. I would have liked to see the main character having overcome her terrible upbringing with these awful women and living on her own, living paycheck to paycheck and having real-world struggles but appreciating life away from her foul stepmother and stepsisters, I think that would have immersed me a little better. by ESHurricane

"Phoenix" is exactly what it announces itself to be. No surprises, no twists, nothing that would keep me on the edge of my seat. It's a fine piece of writing, but it's boring, clichéd to death and generally uninteresting. Granted, for the avid reader of the genre it may seem like a masterpiece, but for an outsider such as myself, I find it hard to enjoy. by GrouchyPotato

The writing quality was great, but the characters' choices often didn't make sense, so they didn't feel real to me. by NDeMeer

7. Harry Potter | Little Blue Shoe | @Red_Pandi

This one, while decently written, just didn't really stand out to me. I found there were so many original characters that nobody really had a clear voice, and even the canon characters seemed flat. Grammar and structure are decent, very few errors. I did enjoy the prologue though, it was very sweet and I liked the cadence of it. by ESHurricane

"Little Blue Shoe" is a story that tries to mix a lot in a little, and it fails, unfortunately. Cramming so many tropes and characters makes the book lose its essence, whereas the general lack of conflict makes every chapter seem pointless. Sprinkle a bit of protagonist clichés and you've got a generally mediocre fan fiction. by GrouchyPotato

I love how in this book you can really feel the characters relationships with one another, and you are able to see the development of the main character. I enjoyed reading this book a lot, it is very unique compared to some other stories I have read on Wattpad. by lpnglnn

I love the premise of the story, but I couldn't tell where the plot was going and the scenes often needed more description. by NDeMeer

8. Archie Comics Universe | Silver Darkness | @Witto150

I was pleasantly surprised by this one! I figured there couldn't really be a lot of lore to play within the Sonic universe but I was definitely proven wrong. The author did a great job here of hooking me in with all kinds of drama between the world hoping psychic hedgehogs. The writing could have been a little tighter to me, and the character voices a little clearer, but overall it was a great effort. by ESHurricane

"Silver Darkness" falls into the category of fan-service, answering a much-needed question beginning in "what if?". However, the blunt, unidimensional characters, the surreal dialogue, the abruptness of the plot and, not to be left aside, the recurring grammar and spelling mistakes, all can only add to my general unenjoyment of reading this book. by GrouchyPotato

Silver Darkness is a cool book that some people seem to enjoy. Even though this book did not interest me very much, there are very good qualities in this book. For example, the creativity. I haven't read a book like this ever. Another example, the cover really speaks to the name Silver Darkness which you would definitely judge this book by its cover. by lpnglnn

I love the characters of this story, but the descriptions are often not very clear and the writing style doesn't really draw me in; it seems very distanced from the characters. by NDeMeer

9. BTS | Aeonian | @starugii

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I found the first part of mermaid exposition and history a bit of a slog, and I feel like it maybe could have been added into the lore a little more organically. But once the story started I was really into it. The descriptions are very visceral and the characters very clear and realistic. I was positively gleeful as Tae was wrestling an octopus (that's what the bonus point was for). Just overall really fun experience. Grammar and structure decent; just noticed a few mistakes with regards to dialogue tags. by ESHurricane

"Aeonian" is a story that takes the reader through a sinuous path of...nothing. With descriptions over descriptions, riddled with errors and pompous words put next to blatant vocabulary misdemeanors, a generally non-existent plot, characters that I only know the name of, this isn't anything else than an underwater still-frame, escaped from an anime inspiration. by GrouchyPotato

This book was very creative and unique. I enjoyed reading this book a lot, I got more interested the more I read. by lpnglnn

The premise of this story is awesome, but the description often takes too many words, taking me out of the story. by NDeMeer

10. Athlete - Yuzuru Hanyu | Meridian Lights | @MikleoKrein

Oh I really liked this one! I felt like there was a lot of unnecessary fluff at the beginning with pictures and such but the meat and bones of this story really hooked me in. The first 'glimpse' chapter showing the characters grown up and married was so romantic and sweet. Then to go back and have the story start when the characters are so young was just so endearing! I love that the author is going this far back to really dig deep into where their relationship began. I have a feeling that this book is going to be a lovely slow burn. Bonus points because the relationship between El and her mother made me laugh out loud multiple times. I think this book portrays a relatable character with healthy relationships. More bonus points because I legitimately think this book should win first place. <3 by ESHurricane

"Meridian Lights", an award winner that, to my view, doesn't live up to its great name. The story in itself isn't half-bad, but rests at an above-average level due to the plot being extremely overdone, the characters not standing out at all, let alone the lack-luster use of the first person perspective. I strongly believe, however, in the potential of this book, but a very careful and cutthroat editing is required (especially in the punctuation and spelling department), in order for "Meridian Lights" to shine at its full glory. by GrouchyPotato

This was a very good story, with believable characters and great writing quality. The dialogue was mostly convincing, but not always. by NDeMeer
