13 Years Later...

     Lucien and Ferrous are heading for they're last day of adventurer school on July 31st. They have both aged well with good builds and are very handsome. They're only physical similarities are still their slightly pale skin and their sharp but kind eyes. They also both wear a heavy silver band around their wrists to restrict they're excess power.

     Lucien has short, strait, golden blonde hair and sharp and matching golden-yellow eyes. He usually wears shorts or jeans along with tees in his favorite colors (bright shades of orange, yellow, and white). Ferrous has short, shaggy, crimson red hair and sharp crimson red eyes to match. He usually dresses in jeans and wears tees or shirts in his favorite colors (dark shades of red, blue, and black). Both also like to wear both chokers and bracelets as accessories.

     The twins are almost nothing alike. Lucien is a straight-A, model student. He almost never gets into trouble (if he does, it's his brother who caused it) and is the student council president, but doesn't mind breaking the rules if necessary. He's known to be a little lax with slight rule breaking, but if they're serious, he either reports them or tries to help. Ferrous on the other hand, is a troublemaker. He's the leader of the track and field team, and is a well known prankster. He loves to pull (mostly) harmless pranks, but if he catches you hurting or bullying someone, he'll beat you to a pulp. He's an A and B student (courtesy of his brother), but is often sent to the office for rule violations, his brother being the only thing that keeps him from getting kicked off the team and getting expelled.

     After passing their exams with flying colors, the twins head home to find a surprise birthday party done by their parents. It was only attended by their Aunt Fiona and a few acquaintances from school since the twins usually keep to them selves. After they have cake and open their presents (they both get silver lockets pictures with their parents and both of them inside, Lucien's has gold detailing and Ferrous' has red detailing) their parents pull them aside as everyone leaves to talk to them.

     "We need to tell you two something, but first you must take off your bracelets," they're father says looking them in the eyes. The twins do as he says and they begin to glow. When the light dies down, the twins look at themselves and each other and realize that they now have the features of an angel and a demon.

     "WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!?!" they both scream simultaneously. "You two were like this when you were born," their mother says, a sad smile on her face. "This town has hated part creatures for as long as anyone can remember. So, us and your aunt used those bands to hide your unnatural traits from everyone else, us and your aunt were the only ones who knew.

     "Well, now we know," Ferrous says, staring at the floor, trying to comprehend what he and his brother have learned. "Thank you for telling us mom and dad," Lucien says, directing a smile to his parents. "Now it's time for us to give you the rest of your gifts," their father says before handing Ferrous a black box tied with red ribbon while their mother hands Lucien a white box tied with yellow ribbon. Inside Ferrous' box are two items. One is a necklace with a red jewel with a golden glow coming from inside on a pure gold chain and a perfectly round gray stone with brown detailing, similar to cracks on the smooth surface. There are also two charms in Lucien's box. There's a sparkling, blue, teardrop shaped jewel on a chain made of pure silver and a shining feather that has a deep, sky blue color at the base that fades into a pure, cloud white at the top.

     "What are these?" Ferrous asks while examining the gray stone.
"Well Ferrous, we gave you a Flaming Heartstone and an Everstone, which can be used to help control the elements of fire and earth respectively. While Lucien, you have a Mystic Water and a Zephyr Wing, which can be used to help you control the elements of water and air respectively. "What do you mean 'help' us control the elements?" Ferrous asks, his brother, being the brainiac he is, just shook his head and rolled his eyes. Their mother, giggling at Lucien's reaction to the question, says, "When someone's born, the have a soul element that can control in some way, some people better than others, but, as is the case with you two, some people are born with the powers to control two elements."

     They put on their charms and lockets. They both hide their lockets underneath their shirts, Lucien puts his Mystic Water around his neck, leaving it outside his shirt and places his Zephyr Feather in his hair behind his ear. Ferrous puts his Flaming Heartstone around his neck, leaving it outside his shirt and places his Everstone in his bracelet that's around his left hand.

     As they thank both of their parents, they hear a loud smash, screaming, and the crackling of fire. The twins and their parents run outside to see a horrible scene, there's blood everywhere, people screaming, and flames are engulfing the entire village. "WHAT THE FUCK!" Ferrous screams. Then the boys hear screams from behind them, the voices belonged to their parents. They both whip around to see two bandits clothed in black and wearing dark mask that hide everything below their eyes, stabbing their parents in the necks with daggers, letting them slump to the floor, their blood pooling on the ground beneath them as the lights go out in their eyes. "YOU BASTARDS!" the twins scream simultaneously, drawing their weapons. Lucien pulls out a pair of katanas from the sheaths on his back, while Ferrous pulls out a pair of wicked sharp daggers from the holsters on his belt. "You'll pay for that..." Lucien says in a deatly quiet voice as he glares at the two bandits while his brother just stares at them, giggling insanely and looking at them with a manic grin plastered on his face. The bandits take in the looks and demeanors of the two boys, start getting nervous. "S-So what? You're j-just k-kids. W-What can you d-do?" the first one says, visibly trembling. The other just stares at them twins, horrified. They twins then charge. Lucien attacks the silent bandit, slashing at him in an X motion, leaving an X shaped mark on his chest, when the bandit attempts to get back up, he attacks with a flurry of slashes, leaving bloody cut all over his chest, neck, and face. Panting he stands up and looks over to his twin. Ferrous is laughing insanely, his eyes completely devoid of sanity and thought, he plunges his dagger into the bandit's chest pulling it upwards, letting the man slump to the ground, then dropping to the ground and stabbing him over and over in his face and chest, covering him in blood splatter, all while laughing maniacally.

     Lucien, coming to his senses, drags his brother away from the horrifyingly bloody scene, screaming, "IT'S OVER! HE'S DEAD! CALM DOWN!" He finally drags his brother away and smacks him across the face and yells, "SNAP OUT OF IT BRO!", effectively snapping him out of it. "Thanks bro, seeing that made me snap..." Ferrous says, hugging his brother tightly, "It's okay bro, it's okay..." Lucien says into his brother's ear to calm him down as he hugs him back. "Come on bro, let's grab some supplies and get out of here before we burn to a crisp," Lucien says. "Okay, but let's hurry, the fire is closing in," Ferrous says.

     The boys run inside the house and pick up their backpacks that they keep by the door, and collect different supplies in their house. Ferrous grabs weapons and clothes for them, along with another bag, while Lucien grabs some of their more useful or important books, extra food and water, and any medicine he can find.

     After packing anything useful they could find in the house, they head out through the back door and head up the hill behind their town. As they reach the top of the hill that overlooks the town, they turn and look to see their town burning bright in the night air. Then Ferrous turns and looks at his brother and sees him crying with tears pouring down his face. Ferrous then pulls Lucien into a hug, tears pouring silently down his face as well. After staying like this for a few minutes, they slowly release each other. They turn towards their old home, burning like a bonfire, one last time and then turn to look each other directly in the eyes, gold meeting crimson, and nod in recognition that they can never come back.
