Namjoon had maintained a shy little smile on his face for nearly an hour now.

Was it because he was currently biking around a beautiful park with his equally beautiful girlfriend?

No, although the date did make him unreasonably giddy, as was common when it came to activities with YeongMi.

"I can't believe you kept it in...." He spoke softly, and YeongMi almost didn't hear him, but she turned with a neutral face, causing the messy braid to fly to the side, slapping her cheek with a stinging force.

"Shut up, I'm doing it out of pity."

Before Namjoon could even pretend to be insulted, YeongMi's bike wavered, and she let out a semi-panicked yell, whipping her head back to the front so she could pay attention and avoid running over another rock. Next time it could be a person, after all, and YeongMi didn't want to hear them complaining about it to her.

Namjoon spared a few more looks at her hair before hastening, and eventually settling for biking beside her.

He smiled fondly to himself, recalling that not twenty minutes ago, the two had been sitting on a bench after taking a water break, their bikes leaning against each other, propped up by the table.

At that point, YeongMi had been struggling to push her hair back, and Namjoon had offered to braid it for her. Needless to say, it was a poor job, but YeongMi had insisted on keeping it, and Namjoon had wrapped the hairtie extra tight, hoping that the loose, thick hair wouldn't come completely free.

Now, the hairtie was a few inches lower than where it had started out, but, save for a few sudden movements, YeongMi had been careful to not move in a way that would cause the tie to fall out.

"Hey moron, want to race to the end of the trail?"

Namjoon focused back on his girlfriend, hardly nodding before she took off, rising into the air to pedal faster.

However, at that moment, the chain pulled free from the ring, and YeongMi lost control. She coasted a few feet, a split second of panic passing before she went tumbling to the ground. The bike clattered down with her, and Namjoon skidded to a stop before running to her.

She had already fixed the chain, and now stood up with a scowl and a faint blush gracing her face.

"You didn't see that," she warned, and Namjoon held back a laugh, looking at her hair, which had, for the most part, pulled free.

Namjoon pulled a few leaves out of her hair, but when he reached for the hairtie, YeongMi pulled back, stubbornly insisting that it was fine.

So the two walked the rented bikes down the path, their spare hands now secured together. And beneath the mess of tangles, YeongMi's hairtie tightly held the last chunk of her hair together.
