Bitterness was laced into YeongMi's happiness, like a bad batch of drugs. Whenever she was happy, something inside of her would twist itself into a dreadful monster and spread through her veins. Usually, she wasn't happy to begin with, so she was used to the toxic waste consuming her. But now that she got a taste of happiness, the sensation was suddenly unbearable, and she hated it, she hated herself, she hated everything.
Nothing exceptional had happened; Namjoon was the same as always, and she knew how to deal with Bora. And yet, she found herself experiencing immense annoyance at everything. These moods could last hours, or days. Or 4 years straight, in her experience.
This always happened to her, it's just that suddenly it felt like it was her first time dealing with it.
She was moody, and after too many period related jokes, she was officially ready to lock herself in her room for at least a week straight. If only school didn't get in the way of that.
Namjoon was nice about it too, leaving her alone save for some sweet text messages, and it only made YeongMi more upset. Why was he so incredibly nice to her? God knows she didn't deserve it, and yet here he was, not throwing a fuss for her sudden isolation, even when she couldn't give a reason for it. She hated it, she hated him.
She wished that was true, at least.

To say that YeongMi was a mess was an understatement. Her hair was untamed, her clothes weren't tucked in all the way, and her exhausted expression topped it all off to complete the look.
Really, anyone who stepped up to her now might as well write their will, because she was not in the mood for anything.
If she wasn't so miserable, she would have been perversely happy that Bora decided to approach her before class.
"Well, if it isn't YeongMean, the school slut. You look a little hungover there, sweetie."
YeongMi briefly, very briefly considered walking away, but the situation was a perfectly dreadful way to help her release her stressful misery.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the sound of everyone moaning for me." YeongMi's smile was anything but kind. She decided to play along, just before bringing the situation to new heights.
"So you admit it? Ha, you really are a slut."
"And you really are a judgmental twat. Too bad they don't have an award for School's Most Voted Fake Bitch. I'd vote for you!"
"If I'm a bitch, then you're an angel."
"Thanks honey," YeongMi grinned.
Bora huffed, and backed away, whispering to her friends before haughtily turning her back to YeongMi.
But YeongMi wasn't going to let her walk away so easily, not today.
"Hey, you sell sporting goods, right?"
Bora was confused, and, after careful consideration, she gave in, turning back to YeongMi. "What? No. You're crazy, what are you on about?"
"Really? You don't? But you're a dick."
"Why you... you... you slut!"
YeongMi grabbed Bora's collar when she got too close, giving her a good shaking before a booming voice interrupted them.
"Lee Bora! Yi YeongMi, office, now."
YeongMi released the girl with a heavy sigh, before making the familiar walk to be disciplined.
**** Really proud of myself for coming up with that Dick's Sporting Goods joke XD
So, question time.
What do you guys think about YeongMi? Is she a simple savage, or do you think she crosses the line? The concept of her character was intended to explore that question, with her quick retorts and insulting quips. It was to show that even as the main character, she is very flawed, and it's okay. ****
