While YeongMi did enjoy Namjoon parading her around town, her favourite moments of the day were when she was at his house. Even though she worried that she was imposing, she still immensely enjoyed being involved in their family activities.
She hadn't even known it was possible for a family to have dinner together every day, but they managed it as if it was the most common thing in the world.
She was happy that Namjoon had such a good home life. It eased her heart a bit, knowing that he had all the support he could get. Of course, it could all be fake, a show they put on since she was there, but she doubted that. And if it was true, then she'd just have to make sure to always be with Namjoon, so the illusion would never end.
GeongMin was probably her favourite part of being home. That girl could chatter for hours, and it was nice to see that the young girl was so sociable and cheerful. Life was hard at her age, and YeongMi was relieved that the girl could at least pretend to be happy - though, again, she didn't think it was just a show.
GeongMin went to an all-girls academy, which easily explained her extraordinary obsession with boys. They found common ground in idol groups, and YeongMi was pleased to find that their favourites overlapped, giving them an endless supply of topics to discuss.
The best was probably talking about Seventeen, as YeongMi began imagining a time in the future where she could introduce GeongMin to the boys. It was a strange thing, to think about sharing her secrets with this family, but she was more than happy to daydream about it endlessly.
GeongMin's favourite was Mingyu, as he was, according to her, 'a tall glass of sexy, mixed with the perfect amount of dork'. YeongMi still laughed just thinking about it, and she didn't have the heart to even suggest that he was gay.
They had developed a habit of sitting together when she finished her homework. YeongMi would sit on the couch, and GeongMin would sit on the floor and lean against YeongMi's knees, chattering about her day while YeongMi braided her hair.
YeongMi was delighted to have a little sister figure, and she grew more attached than she had expected. Once she thought about it though, she could understand. She had hated being the youngest, and she couldn't help but think that she may not have been so miserable and lonely as a child, if she had a younger sibling to take care of. It would've given her meaning, and she wouldn't have felt like she was useless.
Namjoon was elated to see her getting along so well with his family, blending well with the only two girls more precious to him than she was. He had taken quite a few pictures, and he made a mental note to look at them any time he was upset, as it was a guaranteed mood boost.
Namjoon left the girls to their gossip, deciding to keep his mother company while she was cooking. He would have helped, but they both knew that it wouldn't end well if he did.
"She's a good girl."
That was not exactly true, but Namjoon appreciated this new side to his girlfriend. "I love her, momma."
His mother sent him a soft smile, "if that's true, then I'm glad. You know, she would make a great mom. In the future. The far future, I hope."
Namjoon chuckled; while he had never considered it before, after seeing her with GeongMin, he definitely agreed. "If I can keep her for long enough, I think she'd be the best mom. Next to you, of course."
His mom flicked water at him, and he only laughed, moving to hug her. At times like this, he would reminisce his childhood, and wish that he could return to those easy days. However, this time, he was content to stay exactly where he was, because the girl in the other room was worth all the woes of growing up.
