It took Namjoon 20 minutes to convince his mother that she didn't need to pick them up from the bus station. Not that YeongMi would have minded, but Namjoon wanted to walk with her so he could show her some of his favourite places.
And by 'show', he meant tell her of all the places he would take her later, as they walked straight to his house.
"We'll have to go to Ilsan Lake Park, obviously. You've got to see the Musical Fountain, it's amazing. And I can take you shopping, and we can go meet some of my old friends, and..."
With how lively Namjoon was, nobody would believe that he had been asleep only half an hour before.
It must run in the family to be overwhelming when excited, as they didn't even make it through the door before they were swarmed by his mother and GeongMin.
"I feel bad for stealing you away from your parents for break, but I'm so glad you decided to come!"
"Oh, you didn't steal me away, I'm happy to come! My parents are out of the country, so they're not missing me at all, please don't worry."
Mrs. Kim was about to say something when Namjoon pulled her into a hug.
GeongMin wasn't so easily distracted, as she peered up at YeongMi until she got her attention. "Hey, you have a brother right? Since you're stealing mine away, can I steal yours away? How old is he? What does he do?"
YeongMi didn't want to lie to the cute girl, but she wasn't just going to throw away her cover. "Well, he's 20 and he's a singer."
"Oh, is he an idol? What group, what group?"
"I told you guys not to pester her like this, she doesn't like personal questions, you're making her uncomfortable," Namjoon threw an arm around his little sister, pulling her inside while she complained loudly about her hair.
YeongMi followed them in, trying not to be obvious as she looked around their house. It was nice, but what caught her attention was the simple, homey feel to it. It wasn't obnoxiously rich like most Daewon students houses, like YeongMi's house.
YeongMi liked it immediately.
"My husband is working right now, so you'll meet him later, but please, make yourself at home."
YeongMi smiled gratefully at Mrs. Kim. She had been worried they wouldn't like her when they saw her, but it seemed like luck was on her side today.
"Let me show you where you're staying!" YeongMi allowed GeongMin to drag her up the stairs, where she was tugged into what must be the guest bedroom.
She set her bags down beside the bed, before turning back to GeongMin.
"So, can I date your brother when I get older? Is he cute?"
YeongMi tried not to laugh, "I'm sorry, but I don't think that's gonna happen."
GeongMin pouted, "but I'm letting you date my brother!"
"Well, actually, it's just that my brother is gay."
"Oh. Well does he have a friend?"
YeongMi was amazed at this girl, but she understood that most girls her age were boy crazy.
"Nevermind. Can you do me a favour?"
"Depends, what is it?"
"Can you give me Jungkook's number? My meanie big brother won't give me it."
"I'm sorry, but he's scared of girls. He's too intimidated, especially if it's a pretty girl like you."
"GeongMin, are you talking about Jungkook? How many times did I tell you not to bother her about that?"
GeongMin sulked, mouthing "meanie" before stomping out of the room.
YeongMi plopped down on the bed, laying back and sighing loudly.
"Are you actually tired?"
"Sorry, I didn't sleep on the bus because someone else already was."
Namjoon reached out and smoothed her hair out. YeongMi smiled, closing her eyes and yawning.
"Namjoon?"
"Yeah babe?"
"I like it here."
"I'm glad. You can take a nap, if you want."
"No, I can't," YeongMi quickly disappeared under the covers, and Namjoon laughed.
He kissed her forehead softly, and YeongMi pouted, peeking an eye open to stare at him.
Namjoon conceded, kissing her lips softly before leaving.
"I'll wake you up in a little bit." He spoke softly, as he wouldn't be surprised if she had already fallen fast asleep.
