Chapter Twenty-Six
Marinette stalked around the lounge area with Alya trying to calm her down.
"He'll be back." Plagg was sitting alongside Tikki on the sofa watching as Marinette slowly became more and more impatient. Adrien hadn't responded to the message. She knew it had been delivered and read, it told her so on her phone.
"He's read it, and he's not coming back." The tears let loose down Marinette's cheeks. "He'd be back if he wanted to be. He's so stubborn."
Nino walked into the room phone still to his ear, shaking his head. Adrien wasn't answering his phone. Marinette sat down and suddenly felt a pain shoot through her head. Clutching tightly onto it, she wondered towards the window. She saw cars stopping down below, followed by sirens and flashing lights. Before the others had time to consider what was happening she had called for Tikki and was jumping out the window.
She landed on the floor below only to see people panicking.
"Ladybug." She turned her head recognising the voice calling out to her. "Ladybug!" It sounded again as she continued to look. All of a sudden a small man appeared in front of her.
"Master?" He grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the scene.
"He's been taken." She looked at him confused.
"By whom?"
"Hawk Moth."
Marinette felt herself falling. Her ears had become muffled and she couldn't hear what was happening around her. It was as though everything was moving in slow motion. As her knees collapsed beneath her, arms caught her lowering her delicately to the cold evening floor.
"Ladybug." She could hear the muffle of voices around her as her team crowded her.
"We need to take her somewhere?" She thought that voice belonged to Carapace.
"We can't go back to the Penthouse." Rena spoke next.
Ladybug's focus remained ahead of herself. She didn't know what to do. She was terrified. So terrified that she couldn't physically move.
"Come with me."
Next thing she knew she was being lifted and moved towards an alleyway. People began to gather around her. She recognised blue hair, blonde hair, a pregnant lady? But at the moment she couldn't think who they were. All the visions in her head danced around her kitty. What were they doing to him? He didn't have Plagg but they knew who he was. He had nothing to defend himself.
"They're going to kill him." Ladybug mumbled as she was carried into Master Fu's new hideout. Suddenly she realised she was in Nino's arms. Struggling, she dropped her feet onto the floor before moving away from her friends.
She looked around not understanding why Luka, Chloé, Kagami, Kim and Max had joined them in the room. Who'd asked them?
"I did." Fu answered her thoughts. She stared into her old masters eyes. She didn't know what to do. She'd never been in such a vulnerable position before.
"You can't lead in this way Ladybug. You need to pull yourself back into focus." Fu spoke with authority to the new Guardian. He needed to help the best he could, even if he couldn't fight he'd be there for them.
"You need to pull it together for Adrien." Rena was next to speak causing a chain reaction of gasps around the room.
"Ladybug and Adrien? But Ladybug you're with Chat Noir. Where's Marinette? Shouldn't someone be telling her what's happening?" Kim was the first out the civilians to speak up. He'd had a theory about this for a while, especially with the whole memory loss and then being targets. He looked expectantly at Ladybug, waiting for the answer he expected.
The others were staring too. Everyone waiting for an answer, wondering why Ladybug was so worried about Adrien. In an unusual action, Kagami walked over and held Ladybug's gloved hand. The gesture caused Ladybug to tear up before launching into Kagami's arms. Sobbing. Sobbing for everything lost with her once enemy now allie. Out of everyone Kagami knew more about loss and the powers of Hawk Moth. Kagami was as far in this battle as she was.
Felix was still in hospital. He was still struggling to over come the injuries sustained to him. He was still fighting with his strong lady by his side. The respect Marinette had for Kagami outweighed any of the original feelings she had towards her. They'd come a long way in the two years they'd known each other.
"It's ok Mari, we're all here to help. It's time we caught those bastards." Ladybug nodded into Kagami's shoulder as she dropped her transformation. Surprisingly, no one was shocked.
"I knew it!" Luka shouted out. "You're too kind not to be a hero." He walked up to Marinette and took her from Kagami. The pregnant lady moved out the way wiping her own tears that were streaming down her face. She'd always had a life deprived of camaraderie, of friendship and of true friends.
"We're here for you, Marinette." He pulled away and she nodded. The remaining heroes dropped their transformations leaving the college friends standing eye to eye.
"So what we going to do? We need to get Adrien." Chloé spoke first, obviously worried for her childhood friend.
"He won't do any good without me there." Plagg flew to meet them dropping the ring into Marinette's palms.
"Woah woah woah! Adrien's Chat Noir." Everyone looked over at Kim who was currently gobsmacked to find out Adrien's alter ego.
"Seriously Kim?" Nino crossed his arms over his chest.
"No wonder I couldn't beat the guy in an arm wrestle. Dudes a God." Max tapped Kim on the back sympathetically. What an idiot?
"So Marinette what's the plan?" Max looked at his friend waiting for instructions.
Marinette looked around the room, everyone so eager to help out and waiting for her next words. Pulling herself together she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Suddenly she felt not only her strength, but the strength of herself and Adrien combined. She needed to channel what he could do for her, she needed to channel his love and his feelings. Her and her kitty were an unstoppable team, and it was going to remain that way.
"Are you all ready to have your miraculous' back?"
She took turns looking at each member of her team; Rena Rouge, Carapace, Queen Bee, Viperion, Ryuko, Pegasus and King Monkey, each looking ready and willing to help get her cat back.
"Here's what we're going to do ..."

Adrien woke up with a pain coursing through his body. It was trailing from his feet up to his head. Opening his eyes he could see a thin ray of sunshine above his head. He was on his back with his hair plastered over his face. He could make out plan brick walls, and a faint continuous dripping behind his head.
He groaned and tried to reach up to touch his head and remove the hair from his eyes. His arms were restricted. Grunting, he began to pull. Hard. There was something attached to his wrists, restricting his movements and keeping him down on whatever he was lying on.
His natural reaction was to check his fingers. His ring wasn't there. Of course it wasn't, he'd left it with Marinette. He'd left it with his Lady when he was too hot headed to handle a simple situation. He groaned again as he shook his arms and legs. His legs were restricted too, there was no way out.
"There's not point fighting it, Sunshine."
A voice sounded from his right. He turned his head to see who it was coming from. His vision was still hazy, yet the sunlight falling through the windows created a halo of light around her head. Her blonde hair was the same as his, the green eyes matched too.
"Mother?" Adrien asked.
"Yes my darling." They stared at each other, both wanting to find comfort in the others arms.
"Are you ok?" He whispered, not wanting to draw attention from anyone outside the room.
"I'm fine, honey. Have you seen your father? He came back to save me Adrien. They attacked him." He could see her lip quiver as she spoke.
"We found him. He's in hospital but I think he'll lose one of his legs. He was in a bad way mother." She sighed at Adrien's words.
"This is my fault. It's all my fault! If you and Marinette could forgive him, why couldn't I?" Emilie Agreste, was tired and battered. Lila had been using her as her own play thing since she'd been taken two days prior. Nathalie on the other hand was yet to be seen.
"I can't say forgiving him has been easy, and it's only thanks to Marinette that I have. She's shown me that there is no true evil and good, there's just grey. Mari has taught me that regardless of what happens, every action has a reaction, and that even the most selfless people will fall victim to desire at some point. It's life and unfortunately is how we deal with it that makes the difference."
A sudden sound of clapping echo'd round the room.
"My, my! That goody-two shoes really is something else. In a way I wish it was her I'd hit with the car. I would have made sure I backed up." Lila was standing in the doorway.
"Well Adrien it looks like you're all mine now. There's not a lot you can do about it either. Chained to a bed, how Fifty Shades of Grey." She sauntered into the room, walking the length of Adrien's body with one had trailing over his clothes.
"I think I'll give you a shower first lover boy. Wash all that Dupain-Cheng off you. Then I'll show you what pleasure actually is." She'd made her way to meet Adrien's face. He saw what she was wearing. A white lace thong and bra with a chiffon robe over the top. Her pregnant belly protruded out over her waistband.
"You see Adrien, my hormones make me incredibly horny. I'm hoping you'll fill my desires. I have such high expectations for you." Before Adrien knew what was happening she clamped her lips over his, trying to insert her tongue into his mouth he could only think of doing one thing. He bit her.
The blood pooled out her mouth as she moved away.
"You'll regret that, Agreste." She walked out the room and slammed the door.
Adrien rolled as far to the side as he could and began to spit.
"You ok son?" Emilie asked, worried for her sons safety.
"I've been a lot better."
"Listen Adrien, before anyone comes back there is something important you need to know." He turned his head again to face his mother.
"It's Nathalie, Adrien. She's a sentimonster."
