Chapter Seventeen

"You're going to look so beautiful Maman." Hugo was floating around Marinette. She'd spend so much time with her new little kwami since they'd first met at Adrien's penthouse she thought Adrien might petition for paternal rights.

Hugo was the complete split of the two of them and being with Hugo when she was away from Adrien gave her a sense of calm, love and security. He'd join them on patrols so she could get use to the additional power ups adding him into her transformation provided.

The first time that they'd tried it, they realised Hugo was a lot more powerful then they had expected. Instead of just intensifying Ladybugs powers, Chats increased too. Chat Noir became stronger, developed faster reactions and could do some amazing things with his eyes. Looking around he could see thermal imagines making it easier to spot hidden enemies, or in their case Ladybug. If Ladybug went to hide, it wouldn't take him long to find her, and thanks for his increased speed and reaction time he could take her down easily too.

There was one major problem when it came to Hugo though, he was young and small. Although his brain had matured and expanded with knowledge over the months he'd been around, his energy level was zapped easily. Once the transformation was called the heroes had about one hour before Hugo fell out of the Miraculous. He was going to be something they'd need to use strategically if they were going into battle. There's no doubt he would be needed.

"I was thinking," Adrien opened the en-suite door letting out a flow of steam as he appeared through it like a pop star entering the stage. Marinette's breath hitched. He had zero clothing on, and by clothing this meant towels too. Strutting out like the model he was, he rubbed his hair dry with a towel leaving the rest of his toned masculinity on display.

"Wow! That must hurt." Marinette said out loud without thinking. She burst into laughter followed by the three kwami's eating on her dressing table.

"Before you continue Chaton, please cover yourself up. There's children in the room." He looked over to where his lady sat seeing a squirming Hugo trying to escape Marinette's grasp. Her hand was firmly over the little kwami's eyes. Adrien laughed and wiggled his eyebrows up and down.

"Not happy with what you're seeing?" He started to walk towards her. "I could always go to the gym more often you know. Work on getting more buff."

"Stay away," she turned around and put her hands out to stop him in his tracks. She knew what his game was. "I need to get ready and you know I'll want to touch you." She turned back around and continued working on her make up.

"Not just one more time, Bugaboo? It'll help me keep my hands off you this evening." He was now standing behind her seat at her dressing table. The reflection in the mirror was every girls dream. Tall, hard, male. He placed both hands on her shoulders and began to rub slowly. He'd left the towel to hang over one of his shoulders. She groaned and leant back into his body, before her eyes shot open and her body shot forwards.

"No Adrien! I need to get ready. I think it's time for you to go home." His face looked like a small child being told he couldn't have any ice cream.

Marinette had been staying at her late Grandfathers house again. Keeping her away from the bakery, but also allowing many  rendezvous with her boyfriend. The list of people who knew they were back together was kept at a minimum; with only Gabriel, Fu, her parents, his mother, Nino and Kim knowing. Alya was still incredibly against the idea of her being with Adrien again, and it seemed every conversation they'd had revolved around Lila. Luckily, the press had got wind the baby wasn't Adrien's and thanks to Kagami's information and Gabriel's press contacts the story was replaced with the truth removing any interaction between Lila and Adrien.

"So can I tell you what I wanted too or are you going to throw me out the house?" His words were sulky so she stood up and hugged him letting out a cute array of giggles.

"Tell me, mon amour." She spoke, looking up from where her face had taken refuge in his chest. She could stay here and smell him forever. She didn't know if it was his body wash or pheromones, but something about his smell sent her wild.

"I was thinking about my new power," he said. Walking to the bed and replacing his discarded clothing onto his body. "If they tried to use the fox miraculous I can pinpoint which one is the real person to make it easier for us to attack."

"Very good kitty." She continued to look into his sparkling emerald eyes and smiled at him. He was so cute sometimes. She could see how happy he was with his plan, and even though she'd considered this the moment
he'd found his new power, she was going to let him ride on his glory for now. He was like a kitten with a ball of wool; wide eyed and bushy tailed.

He pulled on his boxers before throwing his black tee over his head. Looking around the room he couldn't find his jeans. Plagg flew over to him holding onto said article of clothing.

"They were on the stairs. Seriously you two, considering you save Paris on an almost daily basis, you have zero self control." Adrien laughed grabbing the jeans from his kwami. Placing them on and securing his fly and button before he walked to an amused Marinette and took her in his arms.

"You ready for tonight M'lady?"

She let out a deep sigh.

"I think so. I think it's the first time I've ever been expecting an attack. I mean I know when we originally fought Hawk Moth the attacks where daily, but this is so much worse. They're planned with malice."

Placing her arms around his neck she stretched onto her tip toes and kissed him on the lips. In precisely, two seconds he was kissing her back.

"Watching you two is like something out of a romance film." Hugo and Tikki sat together on Marinette's make up table watching Adrien and Marinette with almost heart shaped eyes.

They began to laugh as they pulled away and he planted one more kiss on her forehead.

"I'll see you in an hour. Please be careful, I don't want to lose you again." Adrien fed Plagg a little more cheese preparing for his transformation.

"I promise, minou. I'll see you there. Perhaps we can sneak into the janitors closet?"

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I never knew you had it in you! Why have we never done that at work?" Marinette started laughing.

"Just go, Adrien. Get yourself dressed up so much I will be ridiculously jealous of anyone you dance with tonight." She pushed him back by his shoulder and he called his transformation. It still took her breath away watching her boyfriend morph from the love of her life into her soulmate and partner. She really was truly lucky.

"Love you." He called as he made his way to the window.

"Love you more." She responded as he leapt away into the distance.

"Ok team bug, we have a party to get ready for."

One hour later Marinette had arrived at Françoise Dupont High School. She was dressed in her 'Agreste' design pink babydoll dress with her black trench coat resting over her shoulders. Her hair was down and curled around her shoulders. Her bangs perfectly positioned towards one eye.

As always the press and reporters were surrounding the outside area. With word of Adrien or Marinette attending the gala the press of course would want to be there to view their entrance. Marinette had taken Emilie's advice and created a matching tie for Adrien in the same pink as her dress. She couldn't wait to see him again, even though it had only been one hour. She wanted these fun and games over with. She wanted to defeat their next enemy and just get on with her life.

She dreamed of marriage, children, vacations, Christmas' with Adrien and their families. She also wanted to do normal things again with Adrien instead of sneaking around everywhere. It's a good job they found each other, being Ladybug would mean she'd never be able to have a 'normal' love life. Everything was too complicated and messy, plus being with Chat allowed them to do things like this. Prepare for battle.

As Marinette walked into the school she looked around. They'd dressed it up gorgeously. The colours all represented the French flag, with blues, reds and whites engulfing the courtyard of the school. Balloons, banners, streamers, cakes ... it really was beautiful.

She noticed some of the people she went to school with and some of the people she'd met through Adrien. Max, Kim, Alix, Chloé, Luka and more. As she made her way through the crowd she bumped into people saying hello, along with those commenting on her dress.

Trying to brush people off without being too rude she continued her way looking for one person in particular. Suddenly her phone vibrated in her bag. She pulled it out and checked the message.

Up the stairs and first classroom on the right.

Putting her phone back into her bag she made it up the staircase without leading too much attention to herself. Turning to her right she saw the door she had been instructed too, and opened it cautiously. Once inside she shut the door and ran over to its occupant giving him a hug.

"Where's Adrien?" She asked as she pulled away.

"Mari, I think you need to sit down for what I'm about to tell you."

Marinette had never felt so happy to leave a miraculous in the hands of someone. Nino had gone completely above and beyond anything expected of him. Even though he was madly in love with Alya, he still held his Miraculous responsibilities top of his priorities. Meaning what he was about to tell Marinette killed him.

"Felix is here with Lila." Marinette sighed as she registered what Nino had just said.

"Kagami?" Marinette responded.

"She's here too, as is Nathalie. Mari, I know you take all this in your stride but I'm worried, and not because of just this." He took a deep breath and came and sat opposite her.

"Nino, listen. We're going to get through this and put everything right. Just like we always do. Has Adrien gone to find Felix?" Nino nodded in response to Marinette. His face was distorted from its usual smile and a wave of panic passed over her. "What's wrong?"

He was pale and dishevelled. Where he never looked as neat and proper as Adrien, he still always kept up good care of himself, especially as he was starting to become a tabloid favourite of his own achievement as a DJ.

"I've found the Fox Miraculous."

"That's great! How? Who?"

"Mari, it's Alya. She's got the Miraculous." Nino exclaimed.

"Shit!"
