Chapter 29 - The best news

Zack's POV

After talking, my Uncle and Stefano stepped out.

I got up after them, but my father stopped me.

"Zacharias, stay."

I nodded and sat down.

"The doctor...she's the same doctor that Stella found, right?" my father asked me with inquiring eyes.

"Yes," I answered.

I didn't want to hide her pregnancy anymore. I wanted everyone to know that I was going to be a father. I was happy and excited to be one and wanted to share that happiness.

Before, I couldn't imagine myself in this situation. I knew it was early and I always thought I had plenty of time, but now I was on cloud nine.

"But when I asked you about it, you said..." he said. I stopped my father and explained to him everything that happened from the beginning.

"And is this good news or bad news for you?" he asked me with a smile.

"The best I could have ever received," I told him with a big smile.

He smiled and got up. I got up as he came towards me. He hugged me, tapping my back. I hugged him back.

"Congratulations, son! I'm so happy for you," he said. "Finally, I will see you settle down." He paused for a bit and then added, "I'm going to be a grandfather!"

Lisa's POV

My mother was sitting beside me as my father tried to calm down by pacing. I could tell he was angry.

"What is going on between Zack and you?" my mother asked, softly.

"You don't see it, Lucia," my father said, angrily. "Our daughter and that prick are...."

"Bradley!" my mother hissed at him.

He sighed.

"I love him," I murmured.

They were looking at me now.

"Does he love you back?" my father asked, sarcastically. "Or does he only want to spend a good time?"

"Bradley!" my mother snapped at my father again.

He shrugged his shoulders. "Lucia, we know the kind of man he is, a famous playboy," he said. "I love my daughter. I don't want some prick to hurt her feelings," he said.

"Dad, I know the kind of man that Zack was. But he changed. He loves me too. We love each other," I said. "And...I'm pregnant."

I couldn't hide my pregnancy from them anymore.

They looked at me, shocked.

"Oh...how far along are you?" my mother asked after she pulled herself together.

"Two months," I said with a smile.

My father was rubbing the nape of his neck angrily.

"Does he know?" my mother asked softly.

"Yes."

"That's why he looked like he wanted to strangle Stefano's neck when you fainted," she said, smiling. I smiled back at her.

I knew Zack must have wanted to hurt Stefano. He was worried something would happen to the baby or me. That was why he didn't agree with our plan from the beginning.

Of course, he got angry.

"Yeah, Zack never agreed with Stefano and me. He said he didn't want me to put in danger. But I didn't listen to him," I said, guilty.

My father rolled his eyes, smirking. "At least, he knows how stubborn you are."

"Yes, he knows," I said, smiling.

Poor Zack. He has to deal with my stubbornness.

"Ok, dear. You need to rest," my mother said. I nodded.

She kissed my cheek, and then my father kissed my forehead. Then, they walked out.

Seven Months Later

"Hey, gynaika mou. Wake up," Zack said huskily, his nose brushing my cheek.

"One more minute, please," I mumbled with a sleepy voice.

"No, miss. Wake up. My son is hungry. And so is his father," he said playfully, rubbing my bump and placing kisses on my face.

"Ok," I said, smiling. I rubbed my eyes and opened them slowly. My eyes met the most beautiful shade of blue eyes. "Good morning."

"Good...morning," he said, placing kisses on my lips.

After having breakfast, Zack went to the holding.

Everything was beautiful between Zack and I. Our family's accepted our relationship.

We never heard anything from Mary after that day. The police couldn't find where she was, but they still searched.

Alice and Stefano got married. They were happy with their son.

I stayed at Zack's house after that day. More precisely, our home as Zack called it. I loved it!

We prepared a nursery for our son. We were having a boy. We were excited and anxious to have him in our arms. The good thing was that my due date was close.

Zack, my handsome fiance, planned all the things that he wanted to teach, play, and do with our son.

Zack proposed to me a month later after the fake engagement party. It was very romantic. I will never forget that day.

Flashback

"Zack, where are we? Have we arrived?" I asked him.

Zack told me he had a surprise for me when he got home. He covered my eyes with a silk blindfold and took me somewhere I didn't know.

He parked the car and helped me to get out. He wrapped his arm around me so I wouldn't fall.

"A little patience, gynaika mou," he said as he held my waist. He led me to the place where he wanted me to stand.

"Climb on." He helped me.

I heard the sound of waves at a distance. A few steps later, we stopped.

"Are you ready?" he asked me.

"Yes." I nodded, smiling.

He took the blindfold off.

"Ta-da," he said playfully.

I noticed we were on his yacht. We were standing on red rose petals that lay over the deck.

There was a table in the middle of the deck decorated with two lit candles.

"Will you have dinner with me?" he asked in my ear as he placed his hand on my lower back. I nodded with a big smile on my face.

Zack pulled a chair for me to sit.

"Zack, thank you," I said. "Everything looks beautiful."

"You're welcome, gynaika mou," he said as he sat across me.

After eating, he stood up. He extended his hand for me to dance and said, "Dance with me."

He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me toward him as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

As we danced under the stars, we looked into each other's eyes.

All I saw in his eyes was love. I hoped he saw how much I loved him as much as he did.

Zack pulled away to take a velvet box out of his pocket.

I thought of what it could be. My heart began to race.

He got down on one knee and opened the velvet box. There was a diamond ring in the box.

I was happy, excited, and nervous at the same time.

"Zack," I murmured, surprised.

"I can't imagine my life without you. You bring out the best of me. I can't imagine growing old with anyone else, nor do I want to. I know you're the only one I want to share the rest of my life with," Zack said as I cried. I couldn't contain the tears of happiness. "I love you so much! Give me a chance to be the luckiest man alive. Will you marry me?"

"Yes," I said, happily.

He grinned as he slid the ring on my finger.

I bent down and hugged him.

"I love you, Zack," I said.

"I love you, too, gynaika mou," he said as he held me tight in his arms.

I pulled my head back and kissed his lips. A few seconds later, we heard the sound of fireworks. We looked at them, still hugging each other.

"Gynaika mou means my woman," Zack whispered in my ear. "You are my woman, only mine."

I looked into his mesmerizing eyes, smiling happily. "Yours, and only yours," I said and brushed my lips against his lips.
