“yesterday’ is history, tomorrow’s a mystery..” -- justin timberlake
♦ breathing heavily, thoughts ran through liam’s mind quickly, like a clock, ticking endlessly. he tapped his fingers on the desk, impatiently, waiting for another report to arrive. hearing the door creak itself open, he looked behind him, seeing only an empty hallway before him. liam then reassured himself that it was nothing. entering the room quietly was director james; head of the organization, and his partner and file keeper; jacey. dressed professionally, james appeared in a white, long sleeve collared shirt, a dark and light blue striped tie, blue dress pants along with black shoes. jacey was the casual one. she wore a navy green skirt, beige heels, a light blue short sleeve shirt along with a lighter navy green blazer to top it.
♦ they took a seat at the desk in front of liam. they exchanged glances as they sat. liam looked up confusingly. james cleared his voice before he would dare to say a word, while jacey placed a portfolio on the desk. “liam.” he began. “we have good news.” jacey continued. james turned his attention to jacey, as she claimed that there was a positive report. “it’s bad news!” james exclaimed. “it’s actually good news for your information!” she snapped at him, while pushing the folder in the middle of desk. james grabbed the folder and placed it by his side. jacey suddenly seized the folder from him while he blinked.
♦ gasping, james snatched it back while liam watched in un amusement. without saying a word, liam raised his eyebrow, captivating their attention. with their fingertips at each end of the folder, they dropped it back on the desk, flushing with embarrassment. “oh, right..” james scratched his head. “yeah, let’s just do the thing ..” jacey suggested as she made eye contact with the folder. liam sat straight up while james opened up the folder. the open folder revealed pictures of a few young women. jacey leaned over and spreaded out each picture. grasping a picture between her fingertips, she held it up for liam to get a closer look. “arielle johansson.” jacey stated.

♦ placing his hands on the last photo, liam looked up at them confusingly. “rosie huntington.” he whispered. “but i--wait.” “why is she on the list, she’s deceased.” liam asked. “she’s not dead liam.” jacey told him. “what the hell!” “jacey, it’s not time for your little shenanigans once again!” “she is dead!” liam revolted, instantly getting out of cushioned chair he was seated on. “she is not dead, reporters say that rosie was spotted somewhere off fourteenth street in union square.” jacey remarked. “many citizens have claimed that they’ve spotted her around that same area last thursday.” james stated. “it’s quite possible that rosie is still on the run.” he added.
♦ running his hand through his quiff, liam couldn’t agree on what was being told. “but james, we’ve sentenced her to death, we got rid of the corpse and we--wow, this is just unbelievable.” he told them in astonishment. “we’re debating on whether this is true or not. we’re still waiting for more reports and evidence to arrive.” “ but i know that there’s no way in hell that one can resurrect themself.” james continued. “but what if she wasn’t really dead when they shot her?” jacey asked curiously. “true, we’ve had a few cases where a few criminals have faked their death before their sentence and one where someone possibly survived after their sentence without officials knowing.”
♦ “she wasn’t breathing, right liam?” jacey questioned him, trying to receive as much information as possible, to come up with a theory. “last time i checked, she wasn’t. medical examiners said there weren’t any signs of breathing. she was going through cardiac arrest from the time she was shot.” liam explained thoroughly. “then how can this be possible?” james asked himself. “it was probably a false sight to be honest, i can’t imagine any of this craziness taking place!” james continued as he exclaimed. “this is absolutely scaring me, we should go somewhere and get our minds off of this for a while.” jacey suggested.
♦ “agreed.” “shall we proceed to the park?” liam asked. “the park will do.” james replied as he stood up. they all left the building immediately, leaving all their reports and files behind. as soon as they got outside, they inhaled the fresh, crisp air. closing their eyes, they felt the cool breeze hit their faces, as softly as can be. they made their way to the park, talking, and watching many dogs and children run around happily. a small toddler creeped it’s way over to liam’s leg, pulling on it. liam looked down, gasped, and suddenly leaped away in fear. jacey and james laughed loudly, unable to stop the attention that they were receiving.
♦ he pulled jacey to the side and whispered “look, it’s one of those guys in a yellow sun suit. let’s get liam creeped out.” jacey looked up at james and smirked, liking the idea that he could pull something off like that. they ran over to the young man in the suit, quickly. “hey, do you mind doing as a favor?” jacey asked him, “i’m only here to entertain little kids.” the young man replied in an annoyed tone. “you mean people are here to see you get attacked by little kids.” james corrected him. “basically. what do you guys want?” he questioned them. “we want you to go up to our friend liam over there, and say you wanna ‘light up his world’. james replied excitedly. “what’s that’s suppose to mean?” the young gentleman asked.
♦ “you know …” jacey’s voice trailed off while winking at him. “ew, heavens no!” he exclaimed. “just do it!” jacey insisted. “no.” he replied. ‘i’ll give ya’ twenty bucks.” james offered as he pulled out a twenty dollar bill out of pocket. “deal!” he agreed. he ran over to liam in his fat sun suit, then tapped him. “i just can’t help it, but you’re too gorgeous, can i ‘light up your world’?” the young gentleman asked, trying to sound as desperate as possible. “excuse me?!” liam’s voice boomed as he backed up away from the man. “let me love you!” the man exclaimed. “never in million years!” liam replied as he ran across the street to the coffee shop, disgusted.
♦ bursting out with laughter was james and jacey of course. james placed the twenty dollar bill in the man’s hands as he walked along with jacey to the coffee shop. “great job dude.” james complimented him before crossing the street. he held hands with jacey while look both ways, and continued walking until he got up in the door. he opened the door for her, then walked in after her. “jacey, look.” he pointed. their hearts stopped at what they saw right before them.
“arielle johansson.” they whispered at the same time as they exchanged looks.
